CMCC is a non-​profit ministry of Crossgates United Methodist Church, serving families of central Mississippi.

CMCC is a child care center providing early care and education for infants through age four on a full time basis.

CMCC also offers an after school program for Rankin County School children and a Summer Camp during the summer months which includes daily swimming in our own pool.

History

Established in 1992.

Located at 21 Crossgates Drive in Brandon, The Children’s Center opened in May 1992 as a ministry of Crossgates United Methodist Church to serve the Brandon community. With full-​time programs for children age six weeks to age four and an after school program, the Children’s Center currently serves almost 200 families in the community. It is our mission to provide the highest quality of early childhood education for the children of Brandon, not only focusing on cognitive skills, but also physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual development. We provide a safe, nurturing environment where children are encouraged to reach their fullest potential through learning activities and play.

Manager

CMCC Executive Director Colleen Smith has been an early educator for 22 years, with 18 of them spent at The Children’s Center. Colleen currently serves as Past President of the Mississippi Early Childhood Association and on the MS Department of Health’s Child Care Advisory Council. She is committed to providing the highest quality early education in the state for the children and families of The Children’s Center.
