James Estes, the person that is my hygienist has always been very good and complete. He is very patient when explaining the plan and my options. During the procedure he very concerned and ensures I am OK.

Unfair misleading billing practice. Rip off insurance money
My name is Elvira, I am very disappointed with being given misleading and incorrect information about cost of service from Coast Dental in Brandon. I moved from Chicago a couple of months ago. I found Coast Dental office in Brandon. I loved that I received cost of treatment BRFORE treatment. Of course I trusted the information employees gave me. I did 2 procedures in this place First one was extraction of the tooth. I got estimate. I agreed to procedure. Paid what I was supposed. No problem I decided to do my yearly REGULAR (FREE FOR ME 2 times per year) cleaning of the teeth in the same office because I liked the practice to let patient know the price for the procedure before treatment. I knew I don’t need to pay anything so I made appointment with George. George was very pleasant as well as Emily (office manager) who gave me estimate for procedure. I was told by George that I need deeper cleaning very expensive (as I read reviews now its regular tactics for everyone) which I did not agree to perform and was ready to leave. George changed estimate, lowered price and my portion was this cleaning $ 139 which agreed to and paid immediately. Before I left I asked Emily if I have paid all bills and my file is clean. Emily response was: «Yes. You paid all bills» You can imagine my shock when I got invoice for ANOTHER $ 416.10. My dental insurance had $ 1500 BEFORE I made the mistake and went to Coast Dental office. I WAS NEVER TOLD THAT IF INSURANCE WILL NOT PAY FOR THIS CLEANING TREATMENT I WILL BE RESPOSBLE FOR WHOLE (ALMOST $ 1000) INVOICE FOR CLEANNING!!! I would have left immediately!!! As per my conversation with Emily my insurance denied the claim. I called to my dental insurance and was told that because I was charged outrageous amounts from Coast Dental my account is empty now. I called to Emily and ask her to put my account and invoice up for dispute and contact me ASAP. She assured me that my bill is on dispute. 2 weeks latter I received letter from collections!!! I called to Emily again for 3 days in the row and when she finally answer the phone she put me on hold for 1 hour. After that she was disconnected. I wrote e-​mail to Headquarters of Coast Dental and never received any replay. I am disagree with this invoice and will fight this inappropriate rip off billing. Please contact me ASAP. I hope that its not a regular misleading unfair practice for this group. I am considering to hire lawyer, contact newspaper and post my review on every possible site if nobody even care to response I am not responsible for the amount your company trying to charge me because I never received cleaning service for $ 1000. I also outraged with absolutely disrespectful customer service. I complained to BBB but office manager Lisa Rodrigues wrote that I sigh document and responsible for charge. I am not even mention that office is VERY dirty and carpet in this «medical» office was long time ago different color; now it’s disgusting almost black and conditions of walls and carpet not suitable for «medical» office. If it’s a final decision of Lisa Rodrigues I have no choice but complain to Hillsborough County Consumer Protection Agency, Fraud and Consumer Protection and Agency of Health Care Administration. Please save your money and NEVER step in any Coast Dental office. They are corporation and only cares about MONEY. They will lie to you about services you need only to clean up your pocket. I will continue to fight with rip off practice of this corporation.

A recent reviewer highly recommends hygienist James Estes here and I felt the need to respond. He grossly overestimated my need for a «deep dental cleaning,» wanted to charge me hundreds of dollars and subject me to invasive gum irrigations. I had two second opinions and both were shocked as I just needed my regular annual cleaning for $ 75 with no laser invasion.
None of this is surprising as the office is unprofessional, dirty (even some equipment is grimy — I couldn’t believe it!), and obviously a grist mill for low-​income, disabled people like me whose Medicaid insurance claims to cover annual exams and cleanings at this office and others in the Coast Dental chain. (when I called Medicaid to report this office the representative said they had many complaints but nothing they could do about it as they were contracted).
Your teeth are important so please beware!

I go to this office and i always have JAMES ESTES as my hygienist. He is always happy in explaining to me what he is doing and what is happening on my tooth. He is very careful and I leave the office feeling refreshed. It’s worth going to a place having James as my hygienist. I tell my co workers in the Hardrock to come to this office. Thank you James! See you in three months!

This Coast Dental office is VERY unprofessional and disorganize. The staff is rude. You are never seen at your appointment time. When you call to make an appointment, they put you on hold and then eventually hang up on you. My family and I have been going to this office for 2 years but now it’s time to look for another dental office.

If I could give no stars, I definitely would. This place has been nothing but problems to me since I started going. Two years ago, I go in for preventive care visit. I got X-​rays done and they informed me two of my teeth are still baby teeth, no adult teeth to grow back in and they are hanging on by a thread. We decided to go with a bridge for each side of my mouth. The teeth were pulled and I had temporary bridges in for about two months until my permanent bridges were ready. The temporaries were terrible, loose and I felt like I couldn’t eat anything. Finally my permanent bridges were ready to be put in, I go in and get them put in and I was ecstatic. They looked great. I was informed that I had a 3 year warranty on them, but that they should last a lifetime. They never asked for a follow up appt, I made one myself because I felt that one side was not like the other, something was off. They told me everything was fine and that was all. Well going into about 2 and a half years now, one of them has chipped. Of course it’s the same side I always felt was different. So now I go into coast dental with the expectations I will be getting this fixed at no cost to me because of my warranty. The doctor says its fractured and needs to be replaced and that i need to pay almost $ 2000. This is insanity. Apparently, my «warranty» is void because I did not do the «deep» teeth cleaning they recommended. Which would have not prevented this from happening, so that makes no sense. After speaking with the manager she informs me there was never any warranty??? Well why would I be told that in the beginning? I have no idea. This is now ridiculous because I now need to drive all the way to plant city to see the doctor who did the bridge, and that manager is not able to guarantee me that I will not have to pay. Which I don’t think I should, how is any of this MY fault ??? I’m highly dissatisfied with this place and DO NOT recommend anyone go there for any dental work.

The dentist fractured my tooth and could not remove it all, so they quietly ushered me out of the office right away with a referral to get it fixed someplace else. My insurance company was billed for the full procedure which caused a weeks worth of confusion and pain until I got another approval to go in for an additional surgery. IMHO The staff is rude and Dr Cauhill has the bedside manor of Bill Cosby; when you wake up you are drugged and have already been screwed then he is pushing you out the door.
