BSAC’s Mission: Impacting Lives Daily
Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center is a community-based 501c3 nonprofit organization.
Our purpose is to impact lives daily through superior educational and athletic programming that enhances physical, mental, and spiritual well being.
BSAC provides learn to swim programs, after school care, summer camps, tennis programs, competitive swim team (Blue Wave), fitness memberships, Jiu Jitsu, and Team TRIDENT, a program for intellectually disabled adults.
History
Established in 1963.
Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center (BSAC) has been serving the greater Brandon area for more than 50 years. We are proud to say we are teaching and serving our 3rd generation of families.
BSAC has been at the forefront of youth drowning prevention programs for the last decade. Through partnerships with the Children’s Board, Hillsborough County Commissioners, and Hillsborough County Parks and Recreation, BSAC is now providing swim lessons to many of our areas Head Start programs as well as mobile swim lessons for areas of our community in need.
The BSAC Blue Wave Swim Team and Tennis Programs have produced many Division I college athletes as well as a Summer Olympian each games since 1968 including Brooke Bennett, Maritza Correia, and Chris Colwill, who currently runs the BSAC diving program.
BSAC has operated as a 501c3 not for profit organization since 1998 and relies upon fundraising events and contributions from the community to provide financial assistance to families.
