Specialties
Storming Robots is a year-round robotics and technology learning center focusing on using robotics and technologies to fuel, and reinforce habitual and autonomous learning. It creates a learning environment instilling the life learning — humility, perseverance, making appreciation of mind challenge infectious.
SR’s program model aims to build and strengthen problem solving skill with computational thinking via engineering process. Its achievement to instill robotics engineering education in pre-college level students has been proven by their years of participation in robotics learning, and their accomplishments in various robotics competitions. Since 2007, over 100 students, ranging from novice to experienced, have participated in robotics tournament, and gained recognition. Teams have been invited to compete in the International RobocupJunior Tournaments since 2009. Two of her teams won the World Title in the 2012 RobocupJunior International Tournaments.
History
Established in 2004.
Storming Robots started with only 2 students in its robotics technology club when it was established back in the December of 2004. In the Fall of 2013, we have reached over 180 students. Our students’ success in various competition has proven our model is indeed working. Many students attended SR from their elementary to high school years. Many of our students take more than 45 minutes trek to attend SR weekly.
