Richmond Hardware & Paint

Richmond hardware is a great local shop with excellent customer service. I was steered in the right direction when looking for paint and was also given suggestions and tips for the best look. I would recommend anyone to shop there for any of their household needs!

As an EX-​customer, I DO NOT recommend doing any business with this crappy little store that has horrible customer service & store policy. The owner is greedy & the staff is clueless…
First of all, most of their big rentals are all charged the same whether you are renting for the whole weekend or just for one day!!! I should have known! They have a flat fee of $ 40 for delivery, so I rented a $ 475 worth of stuff from them for my niece’s birthday party and a wood chipper to work on my backyard. The wood chipper did not work when i tried to use it. So I called the store & spoke with the owner, who happened to be at the store that day. They did not have any staff to help over the phone or to come over & help in person. The owner told me to stop working on the machine, «cuz we don’t want to break the machine, if you don’t know what you are doing!» For real??? First of all, I rented your machine because I KNOW what I’m doing… After telling me not to work on the machine, they said they’ll do some price adjustment or another day for me to take it out again for free. I even sent them a piece of wood that wouldn’t cut, so they can see it for themselves. The guy who did the rental transaction with me called me the next day and said their machine was fine & that they did not have any problem cutting (basically calling me a liar!)… According to him, since their machine was in working order, there’s «No justification» for any refund or adjustment… They were rude about it & very greedy, saying they lost some rentals that weekend because I had the machine. That’s what the rental service is for, if you are renting it out to someone, you are obviously not renting it out to anyone else!!! If you want to rent out to more than one person, you should have more machine available in your store!!! It’s not my fault their machine didn’t work…
I was very disappointed with their customer service and their store policy. They didn’t do anything for me aside from saying that I will still be charged for that machine! Needless to say, I WILL NOT be doing any further businesses with them…

I found items here that Home Depot doesn’t carry. A great store with excellent inventory and helpful staff. I really like this store and I’m glad to give them my business. Please give them your business. Neighborhood hardware stores are really important for preserving our economy and keeping main street free of big box stores.

It’s a small store but has a great inventory. Best of all, it has helpful, very knowledgable service. If you have a painting project, this is where you want to go. I always buy their Benjamin Moore paints. If you need help choosing colors, they also offer professional advice.

Richmond’s has the right products for most any project, very competitive prices and the best service, hands down, of any hardware store! They have staff on site that know paint, plumbing, electrical, yard work and even answers to how to use tools. If you don’t have big tools like a rototiller they can rent you one. In addition they have a wide berth of rental products that range from contractor, or home owner tools, all the way to party tables/​chairs.
I go there at least once a month to stock up on whatever I need for the current projects I’m doing. Right now I’m focusing on my lawn. I’ve also rented large tools to seed slice my lawn and rented a moon walk, chairs and tables for two high school graduation parties.

Nice folks, fairly knowledgeable. Can be a bit pricey but the advice can be worth it. They do know paints but some stuff they falter on. In the end better than the Depot or Lowes.

The people who work here are happy to give free advice on how-​to home repairs etc. It is a small local store but not all stores have to be home depot or Lowell’s.
This is the best place to get keys cut. They do it right the first time. Ive had to return keys elsewhere repeatedly because they aren’t cut right and don’t open the door.
They also sometimes offer coupons in the Braintree Advertiser or the coupon thing that comes in the mail.

Not a bad little store. Everyone was friendly, but not very knowledgeable. They knew a lot about paint, and had a lot of paint, but everything else was just okay. Maybe they should just call it Richmond Paint? They have a tool rental place attached which is pretty convenient if you only need something once or need something large like a jackhammer. I’d say its good, not great, if you have the time drive to Curry on Quincy Ave. If not, they have the south braintree market cornered because Braintree Lumber wants nothing to do with homeowners.
