I love this optical shop. Excellent work, fast, polite, innovative solutions. I’d give 6 stars if Unilocal offered the option!

I found the reviews for Optical King on Unilocal.That is what convinced me to check out this business. I can see why it has so many positive reviews. The staff were very polite and the product selection was good– 5 rooms filled with eyeglasses on double-​sided panels on all walls. The optician was very knowledgeable and professional. She informed me of all available options for the lenses, carefully reviewed the order, and answered all of my questions. My order was ready within a few days. As others have stated, at King Optical, the product quality and service were excellent and the price was less than half of what LensCrafters had quoted (including LensCrafters promotional discount). Would I recommend them? Absolutely!

If price is your only motivator, then this is your place. I was able to buy a pair of glasses for my son and myself for a very reasonable price. Also, the women working at the desk could not be any friendlier. They were very nice and very helpful.
That is where the positives end.
We were brought into a tiny room with a VERY small selection of frames. When we weren’t able to find a pair for me that I was happy with, we were (almost begrudgingly) brought to another room upstairs with more frames. I had no idea there were more rooms with more frames, and I have no idea why I wasn’t able to look at them all at first. Here I was able to find three pairs that I liked, all similarly priced, yet the optician felt it necessary to try to talk me out of two of the pairs. He had also snickered when my son tried on a pair and said a disapproving «no», BEFORE WE looked at him in them, as if he were paying for the glasses!
Additionally, the optician asked if I wear contacts, which I told him yes, I do. Then he spent a good ten minutes trying to convince me to buy them from him. Offering to have me order them from him would’ve been fine, but I got the hard sell, which I also got the NEXT DAY when I picked up our order!!! UNCOMFORTABLE!
When we placed our order I was asked to sign two pieces of paper that were not explained to me. I glanced at them but I’m now kicking myself for signing just to get the hell out of there. Not professional.
I will not return here. I will pay more for so I can see the entire selection up front, choose my own glasses without the optician’s unsolicited opinions, and not be creeped out or pressured into maybe buying another product.

Incredible customer service. Quick service, helpful staff, charming location. I plan to be back soon.

I finally found my new eyeglass home.
Really got tired of those big expensive chains.
Why did those chains always tell me that they couldn’t replace or fix a broken frame. I was always told that I needed to buy a new frame and lenses.
King Optical will fix any medal broken frames. If plastic, they WILL find a frame and for a low price.

This place is absolutely amazing! They are so willing to help with any of my contact and glasses needs. Everyone is super friendly! I will never go anywhere else!

This is a little hidden gem… It is hidden in a residential area which you would have no idea it was here.
Had a family member tell me about this place. Thinking cause it is so far away from us (45 minutes) I didnt think it was worth going to. I shopped around and got quotes eye doctors wanted $ 534, BJ’s wanted $ 435, Walmart wanted $ 400.
Had to visit the family anyways down in Braintree, stopped on by just for giggles and found out $ 208 and that is without the insurance kicking in. At that point it was sold…
All the frames are in all the room, which you need to poking around and trying them all on and take which ones you like with you… Then you meet up with the workers and they help you figure out which ones fit your face and the Rx you are needing would be best for the frame. Now, depending on your insurance either they will have to send them out or they can make them there.
Honestly if your in the market for glasses this is the place to go…

King Optical is, by far, the best place I have ever gotten eyeglasses. Their prices are unbeatable and the service is excellent. Everyone there is very friendly and helpful. I am extremely nearsighted (–8) and always go for the highest index (most expensive) lenses. King’s price for the 1.74 lens is much cheaper than any place else, including online. I bought a pair of glasses elsewhere last year, with 1.74 lenses, but they still looked «coke-​bottle» like to me, so I never wore them, even though they were extremely expensive. I was so happy with my King glasses this year, I showed the other pair to the folks at King. They suggested tinting/​dying the edges and offered to do so at no charge (!), even though I hadn’t bought the frames or lenses from them. What a world of difference! I now love both the new ones from King, as well as the year-​old pair that King «fixed» for me. I will never buy eyeglasses anywhere else!

My family has been going to this place for years; myself, I’ve been getting glasses here since i was 9. Now that i’m in my 20’s, i still won’t go anywhere else.
Went in today (on a Saturday, open 9 to 1 which is convenient), it was pretty quiet and between the time I checked in with my prescription to the time I met with the optometrist (sp?) was only a 5 minute wait.
I believe she said her name was Dina and she was fantastic! I described the type of frames I was looking for and she helped me look and narrow down my choices. She even picked out the awesome pair i ended up buying. I was in and out within 20 minutes, but I know Dina would have stuck with me even if it took me an hour to pick out frames. she was so patient!

ABSOLUTELY BEYOND 5 STARS! The place to go to get your prescriptions filled! Either for glasses, sunglasses or contacts! Excellent customer service, short wait to be consulted with an optician! This place is a gem and ancient but the loveliness is always warm and kind. Perfect price as well! No appointments needed! Just WALK-​IN! :)

Great optical shop. Prices are lower than most anywhere and if you like a frame and they don’t have, most times they can order it for you. Customer service is great and they don’t try to force unnecessary upgrades to your lenses to get you to spend extra money. 100% happy and a long time customer.

Top-​notch customer service indicative of a well-​established local business.
They don’t offer exams, but King is the only place to go for glasses /​contacts. The prices are beyond reasonable– affording me the luxury of multiple pairs of glasses in addition to prescription sunglasses. They have a huge selection of frames, but are always happy to order something if they don’t have what you’re looking for.
A couple of late nights as well as Saturday morning hours allowing the convenience of the larger mall shops.

This place is to great for any of your eyeglasses or contact needs. They do not do exams but bring in a prescription and they will take care of all. Their selection is huge and if they do not have what you want they can order it for you. The customer service is what you expect from a good old family run place that you only hear about from your grandparents. Jeff is super friendly and well informed. I’ve been going there for a few years and have never been disappointed. It is not one of those one hour glasses factories but the wait is well worth it.
