History

Established in 2011.

The band is made up of vets, homeless and formerly homeless, musicians and guests musicians who want to give back for help they have received in the past when they needed it most. They play for the benefit of the homeless. They have made The Community Coalition on Homelessness (CCH) apart of the band when the band is paid so is the CCH to benefit homeless individuals, homeless youth and homeless families. The band has been nominated for a Classy Award.

Manager

Linda began The Open Door Band in August of 2011with clients of the Community Coalition on Homelessness. The purpose was to bring attention to the plight of the homeless and to educate the public on who the homeless are and the causes of homelessness in Manatee County.

The fastest growing population of homeless are children. In manatee County we have 2000 documented homeless children in our school system.
