Favorite Mexican restaurant in the Bradenton area. Food is always excellent. Staff is always great.

Didn’t even offer chips and salsa refills! Fuck that man! What kind of Mexican doesn’t offer refills for chips and dip good god. I think that the people there working did not respect each other and it was evident when I saw a squabble by the kitchen. Show some decency. I order a burrito and it was the size of my head. Good in the burrito was clumped around inside and not well distributed, making it difficult to eat.

Only reason they aren’t a 5, is due to the fact they didn’t give us more chips and they had runny salsa.

This establishment truly deserves no stars but I have generously given one for the upkeep of refills on my water.
For starters, if you have Manny as a server, just ask him to bring you food because regardless of what you order he will bring the wrong dish but insist he has it correct. Not to mention how you are assigned a number and only referred to by your number for the course of your meal.
If you happen to have a server whom you may actually order, do not and I repeat DO NOT order the «Queso Fundido» to start. Let me elaborate on the cooking process for a second; first get a block of cheese, place raw chorizo on top, stick in the microwave for 5 minutes, let sit and harden for 15 minutes and then serve! Forget using chips for your Queso dip, you’re going to need a fork and knife to get anything from it.
If you decide to stick around in the restaurant after the appetizer to try to find something somewhat memorable about the establishment in some sort of positive light, don’t get the desert dry ground beef, the sauce on the enchiladas or try to order different forms of chicken because they will all come out the same.
Overall this place has reminded me that it is good for one thing and one thing only, happy hour. Cheap enough drinks that you can drink enough on a reasonable dime that you black out and forget you were even in the establishment in the first place. Enjoy!

I love Mexican food but honestly this is worst Mexican food I have ever had. The sauce on their enchiladas is terrible taste like cardboard with a little cheese on it and their chips and salsa has no flavor at all like it came out of store bought jar. The service was very slow and took forever to get our order in. It is extremely over priced especially for how sorry their food is. How dare they call themselves a Mexican food restaurant serving crap like this to people.

Absolutely love the service! We come almost every week on Thursday for the 99¢ beer specials and there’s one server (don’t know his name yet!) who always recognizes us and says hi and brings us beer right away. He stops back very frequently even when we are not in his section to chat and make sure we’re doing okay.
I personally love their chips and salsa mainly because it has the perfect amount of bite. Not super spicy but not mild either. The cheese dip is also delicious.
The only entrée item I’ve ever ordered were the spinach and cheese enchiladas. Being a vegetarian, there weren’t a plethora of options, but the enchiladas were absolutely wonderful.
The house margaritas are also great (and they have them on special on Thursdays as well for $ 3.49!)

Been living in bradenton for a couple months now and this is hands down the worst food I’ve ever had. The salsa looks and taste like tomato sauce with a little cilantro in it. My chili releno with chicken was inedible. The ground beef had some type of seasoning that made me want to puke. The girlfriends grilled chicken looked like it was cooked on a flat top that hasn’t been cleaned in days.
I’m a person who ALWAYS finishes his food and this is the first time I just couldnt.

A Solid 3 the food was good but not great. I had steak tacos, the corn tortilla fell apart really easily but it probably was because they were very generous with the meat.
The meat itself was very tender just too bland to give it a higher rating.
Guac was good, it tasted fresh but the garlic was a bit over kill.
I’m use to Chicago Mexican that’s why I gave it a 3. If you are use to mediocre Mexican you’d probably love it.

Bradenton offers many to get your Mexican fix and this place will work The space interesting and adds a feeling of privacy The prices are good for the massive amount they provide The chilli poblano I attempted to eat would allow me to survive a week The dish it’s self was good not knock your socks off Mexican and very mild I love the heat so many will be happy about that Salsa was great a thin style and mild also the beer was cheep and cold so if you want a large amount for little money come on in

My first time here! It was awesome! Been searching for a New Mexican place since I moved to the Bradenton area. The place is clean and our waiter was very friendly! Had the bean burrito and rice and it was really good! A lot of food to chose from! They have a pick three menu for 10.99. They make all the sauces homemade and daily! Free chips and salsa! Can’t wait to come back!

I’m so happy I had real Mexican food. The food was delicious and service was great.
I wish this restaurant move to the Vermont:)

Ok, I’m being a little generous ! It’s really 3++ stars but since FL doesn’t seem to have any good Mexican restaurants it’s almost a 5 in FL.
My best description is that the quality of the food is really good but the flavor of the food (really important in Mex food) is a bit bland. Everything I had was both good and just ok at the same time.
Chips and salsa … Really liked the salsa but wished that the chips came out warm.
I ordered the chicken enchiladas Verde (green) as well as one each of the ground beef and shredded beef tacos. All the items were similar. Properly cooked, very good quality but definitely bland. I love salsa Verde and it usually has somewhat of a bite (spicy) but their Verde is extremely mild. The ground beef taco just tasted like ground hamburger. No seasoning or spice. They mistakenly gave me a shredded chicken taco instead of the shredded beef (waitress kindly offered to get me the correct item but I was filling up and didn’t need more food). Like the enchilada, the shredded chicken taco was very well made but just tasted like chicken.
They had a good beer selection and I haven’t tried the margaritas yet.
I will definitely give it another try and next time I will ask what items are popular or house specialties.

Eh, it was just okay. First time here so maybe I ordered the wrong thing. Fella got a chimichanga with beef and he said it was good. My enchiladas were so so and my tamale was, well, I’ve had better. Overall it was Americanized and not very spicy or flavorful.
I’d like to find a more authentic Mexican food joint. I’ll keep looking…

This is hands down our favorite Mexican place and our go to Taco Tuesday destination. $ 0.99 tacos (shredded chicken is the best but you can also get shredded or ground beef) and $ 3.50 margaritas can’t be beat. It’s not gourmet by any stretch of the imagination but it’s good food at a decent price and the margaritas are huge and delicious. I recommend the margarona, not too sweet but very effective! Also the ACP with a side of tortillas!

We eat here often. The service is very good, the food is always hot & full of flavor & you never have to wait long for it to arrive. Plus it’s very reasonable. The margarita’s are wonderful & you can even get a personal sized pitcher of them. We always enjoy our meal at this restaurant.

Excellent food and margaritas! And the service is incredibly fast and friendly! Can’t wait to come back to see Edgar again and try some other dishes.

Loved it last time. Expect it to be great again. Now, I will say that we were taken (by the hostess) a bizarre way through the restaurant. Kind of like a little maze through all the tables.
Seated in the patio/​lanai type area (sort of like on the back porch). It is very crowded again today (Tuesday). I have to assume it is always crowded because it is always good?
Lots to choose from. Vegetarian today, so salsa and chips with a quest to start. I did read the review saying no ZIP on the salsa but there is a little heat. I do, usually like my salsa a bit thicker. The flavor is great, but I prefer a little more chunky.
A little slow service, but probably because of the crowd. We ordered the chili poblano & queso.
Huge numbers of families here. That is usually a good sign also. Food is here. Small delay on the queso (forgot to order it is my guess).
Sauces are a notch below top but still good and the tortillas are wicked hot and freshly made on site.
The poblano is very good too. Tasty and the flavor lingers on the tongue through the entire bite especially if you add salsa.
Queso was a bit slow and a bit thin. Not bad at all, but films easily because it is too thin.
So, overall, not as good as last time. Still pretty decent, but not great. Will probably be back but not in as big of a hurry as we were.

Great food. Best guac ever, I always get a big one. Their margaritas are so good, the large is the size of my head. Their tacos are way better than Pabloanos on taco Tuesday!

When we first walked in the place was packed, and everybody looked to be Latin which I assumed spoke to its authenticity. The house margarita, I can assure you, was not the best in town as they claim. My veggie fajitas were delicious though. I would’ve had a better experience had we not been sitting below a TV acting as the music system for the entire restaurant, blaring satellite music that kept pausing to load. I’d go here again in a pinch, but not if I had other options.

For dinner in Florida, we visited Mr. Tequila’s. It didn’t look like much from the outside, but the food was very good.
They give you free chips and salsa. The salso was good, but the chips tasted like they were straight out from a bag.
At Mr. Tequila’s, I figured I had to try a margarita. This time I decided to take the margorona, which is a margarita with a corona in it. To be honest, I’d prefer a regular margarita. I don’t think I want a beer mixed with my margarita. However, it was a new experience.
My meal was the best. It was called a caldo de mariscos. It was a seafood soup. It had crab legs, octopus, shrimp, oysters, and fish.
I would definitely order this again. It also came with rice and tortillas. I was too full to finish it or to eat the tortillas. I actually took them with me and used them the next day and made quesadillas.
