McGee Auto Service & Tires

I can’t say enough good things about this group of guys. They are friendly, honest, and they know their stuff. I would recommend this particular location to anyone. I have been a customer for many years and I’m always pleased with their professionalism and their knowledge when diagnosing the mechanical issues with my Endeavor.

I have waited and no refund or part refund. I went to McGee to have my AC fixed. Well 1300.00 later, it was not working. Brought it back. They worked on it again. Still not working. I ended up taking it to Firkins In Bradenton. They fixed it. Firkins told me the part was an after market (not Mopar) and the seals around it were not installed. I went back and ask for my money back. Not happening. Bad parts, bad installer. I will never return. I still have the part they installed under the seat of my truck and show it to folks all the time and tell them about the service they can expect.

I needed New tires so I have research tires on the internet, I search high and low for the best tires for my budget, by far they met my needs McGee Auto Service & Tire. I was thinking of giving them a 4 star because they did not serve donuts but I give them a break they work it was not an easy task. I use to do mechanic work in the military a long long time ago. Now I am not going to tell you when that was, but it’s not easy work. I drove the car same night I bought the tires to Naples FL the car was perfect!

I went in this morning to get a price estimate on my van repairs. The lady who went out to my van to look at it was not very professional acting. She tried to have me pay $ 104 just to look at my vehicle to see what’s going on with it. That did not include any repairs. I asked if they had any type of military discount and if there were any military veterans who worked at their store she said no and that in fact no veterans worked in their store and acted like it would’ve been a bad thing if they did. I did not appreciate her undertones as my husband is a military veteran. I understand not all stores can offer a military discount but at least she could have been kind about it. I will not do business at that repair center, nor would I recommend anybody going to that store. I am over 40 years old and have been to many repair centers for vehicles and have never encountered anybody as untactful as she was.

Someone from McGees reached out and apologized for my experience, and I truly believe he meant it. He also informed me that they do have military family employees at this location and he respects the military, etc. I respect his sincere gesture to contact me and to make things right. To add, my experience was at the 8712 E State Road 70 store.

This is a hard review to write as well as my wavering back and forth between two or three stars.
Brought my daughter’s car in for service that included an oil change, tire rotation and transmission fluid change. When I got there, I also asked to have the windshield wipers changed and to check the brakes as I felt something was not quite right with them.
After their inspection of the vehicle, I was advised of the brake rotors needing to be cut, and the rear brakes needed to only be cleaned and adjusted. They also suggested a flush of the brake fluid system and one other item that I can’t remember right now. I declined on these two options but went with the advice of replacing the air filter and cabin filter.
I was full aware this would take several hours so I settled in and watched a show or two on Netflix. When the car was done, I paid the bill, was getting in the car, looked it over and noticed the sticker showing the oil had to be replaced at three thousand miles. I thought that was odd since I asked and paid for a full synthetic oil change that really doesn’t require a change for 5000 miles. Now I looked at my bill, and saw to my surprise that they did in fact put in bulk oil BUT had charged for the higher synthetic rate.
Also, I did specifically ask to only have the transmission fluid changed and NOT a complete flush. I questioned the staff on this and stated my concerns. They stated they made a mistake with the oil and would change it again immediately. As for the transmission flush, they stated that the price difference wasn’t that much and that a complete flush gets all the old fluid out.
You know, I understand that, but it is NOT what I asked for in the first place. I let that go since the service was performed.
The motor oil was changed and everything else appeared to be in order. The cost was not cheap and I don’t feel that my requests were properly listened to.
I am torn if I will return to this business. I’m still trying to find a reputable service center down here in Florida. Somehow, I just don’t think this is one.

Went in to have two nails removed from my rear tires. Understandably without an appointment was told a couple hours. After 5.5 hours later I was told the work was completed. On arrival, they had only pull one nail and had to wait another 15 minutes. 6 hours for 2 nails is unacceptable. Used to take both my vehicles there. NO LONGER.

I called McGee Auto to make an appointment for an oil change and I was able to get a morning appointment the next day. From the time I first called to the time I picked up my car, everyone was very helpful and efficient. Mason could not have been nicer. I would highly suggest this place.
