Gator Air Conditioning and Plumbing

8÷21÷2015 overpaid $ 3820 + $ 200 parts because I signed before 2^nd estimate. Had dig 25′ ditch (chase) and pay for parts which was included in cheaper bid. Was pushed to purchase system $ 900 more that wholesales $ 800 cheaper. During Manager Wrap-​up Interview representative refused copies of documents for Operations Manager showing questionable pricing & practices to which he declined — got impression this was not something new to this company. Guess Veteran Owned business doesn’t really mean much to another veteran.
10÷2÷2015 Went to Gator Office to complain that installation left run (cable, drain & coolant) completely bare & open to mowers, vehicles, kids playing, etc… for about 3 – 4′ off ground. Showed Operations Manager picture of completely exposed installation. He admitted «that’s not right» and then gave me 2 10′ pieces to replace cover. Incomplete installation, should have never left that exposed & should have offered to correct mistake; not make me do it! Again, guess Veteran Owned doesn’t mean much.
10/​22/​2015 Called Gator back out for single system they moved/​reinstalled in garage few 3 weeks earlier because dripping bad, condensation. Tech said «out of balance», not draining & fixed.
Called Gator back out couple weeks later with same problem. Technician told me circuit board is burnt out which is why it won’t run. I explained that the problem is not running, it’s not shutting off! Head unit will turn off but condenser continues to run, profusely dripping and that I had to turn it off using the circuit breaker; did he turn the breaker back on?
Technical said let him go check it again & then left house later telling us he had to do research — have not heard from anyone yet?

It was a Sunday night about 7 pm. It was hot and very humid, we returned home and found our air conditioning was not working. I figured that I was SOL on finding an AC place that was open, but I gave it a try anyway. Luckily I found Gator AC, they said they had someone on call till midnight. The AC guy was named Raymond, he was great, he first called me and ran through some basic things to see if I could correct the problem myself (which I couldn’t). Raymond came out did all of the checks and found that I had a blown capacitor, so he replaced it and checked the capacitor on the fan, he even washed out my filter screen. Gator’s pricing was also pretty reasonable, even for coming out on a Sunday night. When I have other AC/​Heating problems Gator will be my first call.
