We discovered this quaint breakfast place by chance and what a pleasant surprise! :-) The service was fabulous, the Eggs Benedict with German sausage are ‘to die for’ — you must try them! Also excellent coffee drinks, loved their cappuccino.

Highly recommend the German sausage and egg crêpe with fresh fruit! The eggs are incredibly creamy and the homemade German sausage has an amazing flavor with a bit of onion… It will be difficult to order something different next time because this is so delicious! The owner as well as the entire staff are so friendly and welcoming and accommodating!

Under new ownership, this French inspired eatery is a hidden jewel tucked away in a Bradenton strip mall. German sausage, eggs Benedict and crepes are all to-die-for good. Fruits and vegetables all taste like they were picked that day. Don’t skip the outstanding lattes and be sure to take home some lemon Biscotti, organic granola or other fab pastries for tomorrow’s breakfast at home.

Place looks very cute & had great reviews. But young man waiting in us seemed to rather be texting, was unfriendly and unprofessional. Sadly I left before trying the food.

When we visited the air condition was not working, and first I saw that as a problem. After tasting their coffee and food I forgot all about their AC not working and enjoyed myself. The service was fantastic and I can’t wait to return! The best, best french toast I have ever tasted!

We just ate at Café au Lait after a two month hiatus away from FL and it was every bit as awesome as we remembered. Amazing coffee, delicious sandwiches, salads, and desserts. Please do yourself a huge favor and make a trip to this small café.

Unilocal is so great. We rarely think about eating at places in strip malls, but this came up while searching for breakfast places in Bradenton. We loved this place. Clean, quiet, not crowded even on a Saturday morning. Service was excellent. Servers were gracious and friendly. Coffee was perfect. We all had crepes, which were good but not phenomenal. But we compare all crêpe experiences with Paris, so there you go. Perfect way to kick off our spring break.

A great little French Café located in an out of the way corner of a center on Cortez Avenue. They have a great salad dressing made with light oil, juice and honey. Great sandwiches, crapes, quiche and a great pear walnut salad. The desserts and pastry are a must. Fill menu of speciality coffees. Lots of regulars always well treated! Recommend for linch. Also serves breakfast and dinner is served Tuesday and Friday.

A friend & I tried this delightful little café for the first time. The chai was delicious, pear salad refreshing & tasty, and the banana crepes had a beautiful presentation that delighted my eyes before it delighted my tastebuds. We will be back!!!

A one-of-a-kind place with good food and great desserts. A little more expensive but I am willing to pay for food that is not the usual.

Was not impressed by anything ! Not bad food but not great either and prices are expensive for lunch with small portions !. They also have the most expensive chocolate croissant of the entire state at $ 4 each, does not even taste fresh, not sure they are homemade but I could be wrong! Don’t waste your money there

This place is closed. Looks like it has a new owner and is renamed Café Fusion or similar, but not open yet.

Café Au Lait is a fantastic new breakfast and lunch spot. Only open for breakfast and lunch and serving French inspired American breakfasts, quiche, sandwiches, baked goods, and crepes. The customer service is impeccable, which will go over well with the generation of retired customers. The owner will usually stop by your table to welcome you, and she is great with remembering faces. The shop appears tiny from the outside, but there is plenty of seating inside. I am not a fan of American food, or French food for that matter. However, everything that I have touched at Café Au Lait has been totally satisfying and insanely delicious, for how simple each dish is. There is a homemade taste, like I can tell the fare was made with love. Even the butter tastes better than the stuff you get from the grocery store. The plate portions are smaller, as they would be in Europe, but in America we are served too much food anyways. When I eat here, I feel like I am eating healthier than if I went to a chain restaurant in the area, or even to the Panera down the street(where the are too large for lunch). Most, if not all, of the meals are served with your choice of side— where you can choose a salad or chips. The salads are unique and delicious, so I recommend taking that route. I had the pear salad last time, and the pears are perfectly tender and sliced thin with attention to detail. The sweet and sour dressing is neutral and precisely paired to match with the ingredients. Get a slice of the cake, or buy a whole cake. Whether you are cake obsessed like me, cupcake obsessed, or just enjoy the good things is life— the cake here is amazing and a must try. Café au Lait is located in the same plaza as my other favorite lunch spot, Thai Palace. I’m still waiting to try the crepes. The owner said that if I call ahead next time, she can make them with savory ingredients instead of sweet fruit fillings. Now, if they just served really strong Green Tea Lattes, I would be set.
