Awful in Manatee County. 8 appointments scheduled to put a cable under my driveway; no success. Finally, a technician told me the Manatee County managers didn’t want the expense of burying a cable… I wish I had been told a month ago and I would have switched earlier to an alternative like Direct TV.
I have a big picture of how competent the managers of a monopoly like this in Manatee County must be. Losers.

Worst cable company and internet provider ever !!! After the 5^th sub contractor from knight enterprises failed to get my internet working reliably Over a two month period I took everything back. Don’t waste your time or money.

Bright house internet was just ok until Comcast bought them and now they SUCK! It’s like have dial up, it’s so bad.

Brighthouse is horrible! Poor service and extremely high rates!

I called for just Internet prices. I’m completely blown away! It’s double the price of comcast. This should be a crime that I can’t choose a competitive provider. Wow, it’s a car payment!

Very disappointing. Since I began service 7 weeks ago I have had issues that are not resolved when I have called. To begin with the installer added an additional outlet for a $ 30 fee without me giving him the go ahead. I chalk it up to a lack of communication and paid the fee. I have called several times about the «whole house DVR» not working yet today was the first time someone actually said I do not have a whole house DVR. That is what I asked for when services were put in place. You would think it wouldn’t take more than4 calls to get that sorted out.
To their credit, the call handlers have always been very pleasant when I have called.

Great customer service, great service in general. Couldn’t be better for the money I pay. I’m very happy with the way I’m treated. I also love the fact that they don’t do contacts, and they always have specials when I call in all times of the year!

WOW. Absolutely a horrible customer service dept.
3 weeks, 4 attempts to correct an issue and over 2hrs on the phone and they still can not help.
Poor service and concern on customer retention.
I don’t know about the other companies but I would try a different route before going to Bright House.

We have had Brighthouse less than two weeks and I am taking it back today. I am SO glad we didn’t have a contract with them! Hold times are horrible if you ever want to talk to a person. Their service is really expensive for basic service. For the same amount of money I would pay for basic service I decided to ask Verizon what they would cover at that price. Verizon has the works, all of the movie channels, two DVRs and boxes for all rooms. We are switching today.

don’t believe i have ever worked with a company that is sooooo slow spent three days trying to cancel my business account — once they hear that they place you on hold — I feel they leave you in hold hell so you can listen to how great they are — JOKE !!! Still not sure if my service was cancelled YEP i was holding to find out and got disconnected.

Since moving to Land O Lakes we have had nothing but trouble with Bright House Cable. Our internet connection is very very slow and sometimes doesn’t work at all. If you call them they try to up sell some great new modem that doesn’t work any better but they are collecting more money for it. Our smart tv suddenly is not able to load. It just spins forever. You should explore other options as I am after being a loyal Bright House customer for the last 20 years without any issues. Very disappointed in their service and their disregard in caring to make things better. All they care about is upgrading their service to charge more but it doesn’t help the service at all.

Horrible service!?, my elderly parents constantly has cable and or internet cut offs. Over last several years we complained at Least a hundred times and still same problem. but their stuck cause we can’t get no other providers in ellenton area. They know this. That’s why they treat them like they do.

Beware. Check your bill carefully! Bright House billed me for services that were cancelled. Also, the On Demand does not work properly, (takes several minutes before it will open and kicks me out while watching). Also many shows do not update for weeks. I’ve called Bright House many times regarding the problems with no solution. Verizon has a deal out currently that is less for the same services plus free HBO for 1 year… hopefully they will be better.
Follow-​up: So far, Verizon cable/​internet service is much better than Bright House was for me. My internet is way way faster and the cable works with no issues and On-​Demand works the way it should. I now have Verizon all the way, (cell, cable, internet), and couldn’t be happier — just wish their customer service & Tech support people were more consistent and had less hold time.

If you have any other choice than using Bright-​house, take it! You will save yourself a lot of anguish over sky high prices and poor service. I live in an apartment. I forgot to check who they allow service access to. Bright-​house only. No Dish, FIOS, only Bright-​house. They promised Internet speed of 15. I rarely get 8. 70 channels (30 of them sports or Spanish). I get to pay them $ 75 a month. Had it one day and the service was out for 2 hours. It has gotten worse since then. Buying a cell repeater to boost my cell signal. Once installed bye bye Bright-​house.

If you have any option at all do NOT get brighthouse. I’m normally a cable lover having had great experiences with multiple different cable providers in Boston, Baltimore, San Francisco, update New York… Yet since moving to St. Petersburg I have learned to despise my a cable company. Anyone you talk to that uses their internet service will tell you about how unreliable it is and how often you have to reset the system (every two weeks for me), folks that use the DVR service will tell you about how it magically erases programs or decides to not work, folks that interact with their customer service will tell you about how they are a passive aggressive bunch hiding behind a veneer of friendliness. Today I had my worst experience with them. Turns out they have been charging me for an Arabic language programming that runs 12.99 a month for the last 6 months. When I noted that neither I nor my wife speak Arabic and I am quite certain we didn’t order this she insisted that I had done so with the remote and was willing to «show me how to put a PIN number on the remote so you can control what people order.» Since I don’t have kids or random folks passing through I found this somewhat disingenuous and frankly offensive.
In short the building I am in pays for bright house so I only pay for the extras. I will cease all of the extra services and begin lobbying the building to find alternative providers and suggest you do the same.

«Hello, Friend» is their advertising campaign. I guess what that boils down to are service agents with a perky tone being totally unhelpful and useless and then bursting that last vein in your forehead by asking if there is ‘anything else’ they can (not) help you with after you’ve spent 25 minutes on hold being force-​fed an endless stream of their commercials.
I received an overdue notice for my internet service from them today, when I paid the bill over 2 weeks ago using their phone automated service. Apparently the computer chip can’t process anything any better than the Stepford Wives who answer the phone calls. They tacked on a 30% late fee, which doesn’t even seem legal to me. I’m getting charged a ridiculous late fee because their own system cannot properly process a payment using their automated service.
The most galling thing of all is the fact that the choices in internet providers is extremely limited. I see cheap ads for AT&T, but of course they don’t operate in my area but do in Sarasota. These companies have carved up the territory and have non-​compete clauses between them to keep the rates high. I do believe I am ticked off enough to file a complaint with their regulating agency. Will it do anything? No, it won’t because the state is as corrupt as the companies it licenses, but at least I will have the satisfaction of creating a paper trail for others to be informed.

I can’t tell you enough negative things about Brighthouse. For the past three years we have called on an almost monthly basis. We live in the very middle of their service area so that wasn’t the problem, but we kept losing our internet and TV was pixillated or didn’t come through at all. When they finally sent someone out their first story was that we needed new splitters and cords. Put those in. No change. Then we must need to move our router, but no help on the TV pic. Then they sent out «an expert» who tested all of our outlets. The only one they couldn’t test was the one behind a built in wall unit, so he decided that outlet MUST be the problem. We disassembled the entire unit and had them out again. Oops! That wasn’t the problem after all. What we needed was a signal booster. They’d send someone else out. Oh oops, new guys comes out, and we can’t have a signal booster because there’s no place to put it in a condo complex that is «secured.» So new plan, we must need a new router. Guy comes out, takes out the router that is working but has to be rebooted several times a day. Oops, guy doesn’ know how to install the new router and it doesn’t work at all. SO he tries to put in the old router so we can at least get some internet. Nope! Brighthouse has a rule and they won’t let him re-​attach the old router. Now we have to wait for an internet specialist to come out. Anyway, you get the picture. We’re checking around with neighbors to see who’s happy with some other company — satellite or whatever. If you don’t have to deal with Brighthouse, definitely don’t.
