Sushi Yama

Considering this is the only sushi place around, I was bound to try it. My first experience with them was dining at the restaurant. I was honestly a bit uncomfortable. The seats and the dark atmosphere didn’t really entice my appetite. The food was okay. Last night I order from their delivery service. The driver was very rude. He asked for my phone number and made me very uncomfortable. I will not be using these creepers again. Beware…

Giving this place 2 stars because the service is terrible. Been here a few times and it’s always the same issue. The food is very good if you don’t mind waiting for anything you may need. The sushi is fresh, very good also. Maybe sit at the sushi bar and you won’t have to deal with the waitress.

Nice atmosphere but didn’t enjoy the food that much. I ordered the Pad Thai — the sauce is really sweet and red. I had to order something else since I couldn’t eat it.

One of my favorite restaurants close by my neighborhood. Take out available as well as an elevated dining experience. I enjoy the lychee martini, tuna sandwich, and Hamachi appetizer. Everything I’ve eaten here is delicious. Only once out of dining here well over 20 times was the fish not as fresh as usual, which explains my four star rating.

Best sushi in town. The staff is the best. It is one of our favorite restaurants. The fish is so fresh and all of the rolls come out perfect each time!

Sushi Yama was an unsuspecting sushi bar in Canyon Town Center which is riddled with mediocre and overpriced restaurants! The sushi bar area was super organized and nice and tidy which made me feel right at ease despite the off time in which we went in!!! The Black Dragon roll I had was absolutely delicious!!! Spicy Hamachi, and salmon with asparagus, avocado, and scallion all topped off with grilled eel… YUM!!!
I also ordered 2 pieces of octopus sushi ala caste and unfortunately I was disappointed by its toughness! I go crazy for some delicious octopus and this was just to chewy and flavorless! I’ll also say my friend who is a sushi novice had the California roll and it was super boring! If you’re going to do a California roll make it delicious!
Was quite shocked to see Tom ka ga soup on a sushi menu but it was absolutely delicious!
Décor was a nice balance between a proper sushi bar/​restaurant and having the mom and pop warmth! The bar area however could be more tidy it looked like a hot mess! For this I gave it 4 stars!
The reason I dropped to 3 stars is that the Sushi chef essentially ignored us and we were the only ones sitting at the sushi bar! He looked completely miserable and didn’t really acknowledge us!

Always good food and service, the hot tuna sandwich is the best! We order takeout from here a lot and always consistent.

Although a bit dark inside, so maybe a better choice for dinner than lunch, it was a good place to eat. A bit pricey but not the worst. Had a Tom Kha Gai soup to start the meal, tasty but unimpressive for a 7 dollar cup of soup. Everyone on the table had a different dish so it was great to see the different fares, which included: chicken pad see ew, tom kha Gai, chicken teriyaki, tofu stir-​fry from the vegetarian menu, pork vermicelli noodle bowl, and chicken pad thai.
All delicious but service was a bit average. We were the only ones in for lunch and so food was a bit on the long side. Not a bad place to try while in Boynton.

It is soo good last week I went and it literally never disappoints fish is fresh very good

We have had great experiences at the restaurant as well as ordering take out. The lobster bomb is great.

While the food here is good the service has much to be desired, slow and unfriendly. Never order take out unless you have 45 minutes to wait after you arrive at the restaurant.

Love the sushi, staff is very nice, restaurant is clean. Their rainbow roll is delicious as well as the hand rolls. Fish always taste fresh. Great local spot.

My wife and I recently moved to Canyon Lakes. We tried tried out this restaurant and we were happy with the service and happy with our meal. The only thing I was disappointed with was the décor… it was a little depressing :(Since we live this close, it’s definitely going to be our go-​to sushi place, but I think it will be take-​out from here on out. My recommendation: order in, take out.

The black dragon, dynamite, and salmi. Skin rolls are all winners. The place was pretty busy but we were seated immediately. Good service and fresh sushi. Only two miles away from my house, we will be back

Great place. Amazing cuts of sushimi, very fresh and very friendly staff.
Nigiri and sushimi both were perfect!

3.5 stairs. I thought the food was decent but man the waitress just seemed pissed to be working. Not sure we got a smile.

The bento box was great. Sushi was decent as was the service. The shrimp tempura was great and red pad Thai was absolutely amazing (my sister ordered it). However, the server kept bugging us every minute to order, which was frustrating.
I would highly the restaurant to hire or require their server to have more knowledge about the menu esp sushi

I came here with my family for Mother’s Day. The food was good. The server was very polite and nice too.
They have a nice sized menu ranging from Japanese dishes to sushi. I ordered a fried tofu with mixed vegetables. I thought it was delicious.
My father ordered a fried rice dish and my mom had tempura. My sister had a roll with a tempura potato inside. My parents usually do not do Japanese food but even they enjoyed the experience and said the food was great.

Always fresh. Always great service. Always delicious. And always a great time.
We will be back!!!
