You need to teach your cashier Lovenson about customer service. From the moment we approached him when it was our turn he was far from friendly and in fact, being short altogether. It made the whole ordering process uncomfortable. I am not sure if he was trying to be a thug to us since we’re other guys but definitely undeserving a customer service position. Perhaps he’d be better as a cook or meal preparer behind the counter where he won’t make contact with customers. To add insult to injury, after we paid, he just gave us the receipt without saying a single word. Nope, not a simple THANKYOU, a smile or anything that would make us want to return in the future. Basically, the last words out of his mouth was when he gave me the total for my order. I gave him my card and that was it … not a single word. Like, he’s doing us a favor for helping us. This was not the first occurrence for Lovenson. He helped us at least 5 times in the past and each and every time he was just plain rude and borderline ghetto. Heck, the older lady that refills the sauces and utensils are so much friendlier than him. Even though she speaks only Spanish, at least she looks like she’s happy she has a job. There are people out there who are looking for jobs and this is the best candidate Pollo can find for this location?

Terrible customer service took 30 minutes to go to the line. Did not know how to take two separate orders with two coupons.

I was pleasantly surprised by the menu and the food here. I had no idea what they served and was surprised and overwhelmed by the menu. Frankly, I had no clue what to order. I ended up getting the chicken quesadillas that had a tangy chipotle sauce, it was excellent along with the waffle fries which you don’t see many places carry(I think because they get too cold too fast). I think next time the corn fritters and mojo roast pork will be on the list for me to try. I do wonder if the Tropichop compares to Chipotle’s burrito bowl. Hmm…

Have had lot of good experiences here. As some mentioned the garlic sauce and poyo poyo are to die for! Im afraid to look up the calories and fat as some things that taste too good have both. Anyway, I enjoyed both the service and also the way they make the attempt to keep the location clean at a good reasonable price.

Love this place… ever since I moved in the area and learned there was Pollo down the street I was thrilled because it’s healthy food at a modest price– only problem I run into sometimes is that depending on the server– they seem to confuse dark and white meats that you will need to check before you leave to be sure. Otherwise it’s in a convenient location amidst a lot of other retail shops.

First time eating there. Went through drive through. Had a chicken rice bowl with yellow rice black beans and corn. I added this amazing garlic sauce they have. It was great. It was a nice quick dinner.

Slowest, most unfriendly staff who improperly makes the simplest of orders. Everything ordered straight off the menu, 1 lite wrap, 1 small soup, 1 salad. 1 person ahead of us with a tiny order, before the lunch rush, and yet each of our orders took 10 minutes. The wrap was a pool of salad dressing with chicken and a few shreds of lettuce inside. It’s a fast food place, I don’t mistake them for A 5-star restaurant. But I expect at least the same quality of service as other locations. This was ridiculous.

Service is usually terrible depending on who serves you. The place could definitely improve on cleanliness and drive through orders. I would def order inside its much faster. However, the food is great. ½ chicken black beans and rice hits the spot late night. I am giving it a 4 star bc its open till 12 only food place open this late and the food is delicious

Can’t go wrong here. My husband and I eat here at least once a week. Just a quick hint: the drive through is EASILY10 times faster than going inside– no joke. Sometimes we order through the drive through and then bring the food in. I love all the free sauces and everything. I love that they are open late too! Enjoy!

Believe me, I hate doing a self imposed ban on a place. Especially when the place is supposed to be quick, easy and convenient. But honestly I have had it with the Boynton Beach Pollo Tropical. On multiple occasions they have screwed up my orders and I have let it pass but yesterday my experience there was the proverbial straw that broke the horse’s back. While I will be the first to admit that this location gets busier than an early bird special during season, I waited 25 minutes in line to even place my order. Once I ordered my straight forward Tropichop I began another wait. Over 20 minutes later I heard number after number that was after my order be called. I looked at the screens that are above the prep stations that show the orders and see mine still sitting there. Yet while those orders sit up there I see every person behind the counter playing around with receipts. Why are they not just using the screens? They appear to be working. They are counting how fucking long my order had been sitting there. When I finally brought it up to an employee they asked for my receipt, this is the same employee that took my order. She quickly made my meal, gave it to me and threw out my receipt. No «I’m sorry» or any explanation. I also wanted my receipt so that I could take the survey(not my first time) to express my displeasure(again not my first time). The employee refused to give it back, probably because they knew why I wanted it back. Well that was it. I really enjoy Pollo’s food. It’s affordable and filling but they take the fast out of fast food and make it a mission just to get your meal. I’ve heard multiple customer complain before and I used to just write it off but the past year of trying to dine from this place has been less than a pleasure. The last time I was sick I was in and out of the MD Now across the parking lot quicker than I was in and out Pollo. I would call getting a root canal almost more of a pleasurable experience than going to this Pollo. I’ve seen that there a few hidden reviews of this place on here. Likely from a manager or franchise owner that doesn’t want them seen. And you know my review very well might end up there but I frankly don’t give a fuck anymore. If that is the case I say this… Dear Boynton Beach Pollo Tropical Owner/Manager, You need to put a boot in the ass of your employees to do better or get them the fuck out of there. It has become blatantly obvious that they are not capable of doing their jobs. And while I am not for people losing their job in this economic climate I am just not for dumb. They can not take a simple order with out forgetting to put things in or leaving things off. They will sometimes forget entire meals on the order. How does this happen? Inept employees is how that happens. I’ve left«feedback» on your online surveys before and asked to be contacted about my experiences to no avail. And now I have to resort to writing a bad review of your establishment on Unilocal.Good luck with what you got.

Pollo Tropical is a very good Spanish chicken joint with very good side dishes. Great rice and beans, sweet plantains. This is a very good place especially that it’s a franchise. I tried their ribs once, stick with the chicken

For a fast food place, this was really, really tasty! It’s not expensive, and the portions are great for the dollar. Chicken was excellent, as is their mojo roast pork. Rice and beans, yuca, maduros… yummy! I took away a star because the tables were dirty from the lunch crowd and they were out there cleaning… just not very well.

I recently moved to sofla from the northeast, and this place was a revelation. Chicken fresh off the grill, served with rice, beans, plantains and yuca, with plenty of delicious condiments to choose from. The curry mustard, poyo poyo and cilantro garlic sauce are so good. Portions are always generous– I usually leave with leftovers. It’s simple and healthy fast food for super cheap. Not quite«authentic» cuban food(there is no shortage of that down here), but as a fast food chain Pollo Tropical is truly superior.

WAndered over on foot from the hotel and had a really good meal for a great price. I went with the all white meat Chicken Fajitas with huge strips of white meat and peppers and onions. For about 7 bucks, it was a deal because it also included cheese, average guac, sour cream, tomatoes, lettuce and 3 tortillas. The salsa area also was the bomb. Guava BBQ sauce and cilantro garlic white sauce are both legendary and yellow rice and veggies and black beans rounded out a very healthy meal on a random walk around Boynton. These fajitas can rival any chain in quality in my opinion.

Last minute plans can be a good one. A friend of mine wanted some lunch and we made an appearance here. I settled for a TropiChop mojo roast pork bowl with brown rice and corn. No veggies and loads of homemade garlic sauce. Yum! The portion was reasonable for the size and price that came with it. Our food came out quickly and it was flavorful. Its good if you want drive through food. The rice has gotten saltier and saltier over the years. The chicken is a little dry and not meaty.

This Pollo Tropical location is my preferred location. The staff are typically really nice and efficient at getting you your order in a timely manner and more importantly just how you ordered it(this seems to be a problem for some other establishments). Pollo Tropical like some other Unilocalers have noted: is a healthier alternative and offers an inexpensive, and quick taste of Caribbean cuisine. The portion sizes are pretty decent for one person and are almost always consistent in taste. My last experience there I ordered the Chicken and Rib combo with rice and beans and received a complimentary ¼ chicken meal for completing their on-line survey! ***Tip:Take the 10 mins to fill out the survey, the ¼ chicken meal is both delicious, filling and FREE if you complete the survey and redeem at your next visit***** They also offer a variety of sauces(guava BBQ is delightful) and onions as one of their featured toppings also available at no additional charge. I used the drive-thru but if you choose to dine in, you have more immediate access to the varied toppings and sauces as well as the enjoyment of the Caribbean atmosphere that the décor embraces. Oh and I believe they close @ midnight…

Never knew this Pollo existed, I think the only reason it escaped me was because it’s not exactly in my neck of the woods. After the not-so-wonderful Campero experience I googled on my blackberry for any nearby Pollo Tropical and voir loir! An oasis of grilled perfection… This seems to be a smaller restaurant but it is fairly new so it’s got the big mac daddy salsa bar! I had chicken and ribs and had the mustard curry salsa with the chicken and the guava barbecue salsa with the ribs. Corn was great, and the bread was fresh and fluffy. If I could fit them into my car I would Pollonap the crew here and take them down to my neighborhood Pollo in MIA! Kudos to the Pollo Tropical chicken maniacs!
