White Squirrel Brewery

Their beer is fantastic! Their food is creative and inspired. The waffles and hot chicken is one of my favorites and the burger can’t be beat! Service is great. The squirrel is a neat restaurant in BG.

So I said I would give White Squirrel 5 stars if they would only just improve the service, and I’m happy to be able to do that! Our service has been perfect the past several times we’ve been in, while the quality of food remains consistent! The Hot Chicken is still my favorite entrée.
I also had a cocktail last visit, the Strawberry Old Fashioned. I get the balance they were trying to strike and the originality with the cocktail, but it was still too sweet.

Easily one of my favorite places in Bowling Green. Parking is a pain, but that is literally my only complaint about this place.
Do yourself a favor and get the Poutine. SO. GOOD.

White Squirrel is the trendy hangout spot that Bowling Green needs. It has cool décor, live music, and of course great pub grub and drinks!
My friend ordered the beef burger and I teased him for getting something so plain when the rest of the menu had such exciting choices. When his burger came out, I tried it and it was the best burger I’ve ever had!
I’ve also tried the chorizo burger, smoked brisket tacos, and trio of brats. All of them were delicious and hearty portions that were big enough for me to take home leftovers.
Each beer I’ve tried there has been great, as well. Watch out for their seasonal specials such as the pumpkin pie beer that comes with brown sugar on the rim. It was good and sweet but not so much that it would give you a stomachache.
The staff there is always friendly and makes everything on the menu sound even more appetizing than it already looks.
The prices are fairly steep and occasionally you’ll run into a long wait but it is worth it for the quality and quantity of food.
It is definitely a place you’ll want to keep coming back to and try everything on the menu!

This place is freaking delicious! I had the beef burger and it was one of the best burgers I have had in a long time!

In Bowling Green for a week for work and found the White Squirrel Brewery as one of the local craft beer Brewers. Went in close to closing time and was seated outside. The host was exceedingly nice, and my waiter Josh London was super friendly as well. Both guys recommended the Kolsch and Pale Ale, and I had a pint of each. They were both really good, tho I did like the Pale better. I also caught the kitchen before they closed, and when I saw it on the menu, I had to order it-​Duck Fat Fries with shredded duck confit and apple gravy. It was a bit in the sweet side due to the apple, but was really, really tasty. Also went really well with the Pale Ale.
Josh also hooked me up with a few tattoo shop recommendations which I’ll try to hit up before
I head home. Will definitely head back for another beer if time permits.

Had a really awesome time here driving through ky and found this gem they brew there own beer have a really sick menu and great selection of beer they sell hoodies and shorts with the logo on em really cool place

Went here on the Unilocal recommendation. Absolutely wonderful meal. Will go here every time I pass through Bowling Green. Great service and great meal.

Walking in to the White Squirrel can be described as walking into an adult indoor treehouse. It’s complete with outdoor décor, beer, great food, and some awesome squirrel art.
The food– Tried the bacon cup appetizer, which is literally pieces of bacon soaking in syrup. Delish if you’re a bacon lover. (I even liked it and I’m not a big bacon fan) For dinner I had the Duck Confit pizza which was very good. The apple chutney on top is what really set the dish apart. I didn’t have room for dessert but the brownie bacon sundae looked mouth watering.
The beer– Decent for a local brew, the porter is the best one I’ve had so far. The others are nothing special.
The other stuff– Service was very friendly, place was clean and has a good friendly vibe. Others complained about parking but there is plenty of parking on the street nearby. A downside is they only have two tvs at the bar, so not great for watching sports. Prices also very good. Oh and they have live music on weekends I believe.
Overall– Great place, will definitely be coming back.

This is my first time here but my parents and friends of my parents always rave about this place and made me want to come visit. I’m from Michigan and love local breweries. This place is FANTASTIC. Jess M was INCREDIBLE as our waitress. She was so friendly, happy and excited to help us with everything and had a great conversation with us throughout dinner. She made our visit feel like we were walking into a close friends house instead of a restaurant. She made a huge difference to the atmosphere and was so sweet.
On top of that, everything is made and bought from farmers and places right here in BG.
The beef burger with poached apples, onions and bacon was ridiculously good, WOW!
I was so impressed by the food and the friendliness of the staff. My parents love your fish and chips and your beers are fantastic! Can’t wait to come back down and visit again.

Two words… Hot chicken. Great atmosphere, fantastic staff & delicious food and drinks. What more could you ask for? I’ve been here more times than I care to count & never had anything less than an amazing experience. This is the kind of restaurant more local eateries should strive to be like

The best place in Bowling Green KY. Bartender is amazing and great attitude and wonderful service. This place is a jewel. They make the beer in the kitchen and it is very good. I had the brats and they were fantastic. I suggest not to wait but hurry and get there as soon as possible so that you are able to enjoy what I have enjoyed great beer great food and wonderful people.
Came back for round two and again this place rocks. Everyone do yourself the good fortune and come visit them. And try their dessert worth every bite.

I went early on a Saturday night. I ordered the trio of brats and a peach-​flavored cocktail. The dish came out on a cutting board, with three flavors of brats, three flavors of mustard, and sauerkraut. The brats were quite good, as were the mustards, but the honey mustard was so thin, most of it ran into the crater around the edge of the board. Also, it would help if they would put descriptions of their cocktails on the menu so I didn’t have to have the server explain every cocktail until I found one I wanted.
Now for my biggest complaint: the parking. Oy vey. The parking consists of a tiny gravel lot out back that is accessible only by tiny alleys that are not much wider than a VW bug. There are also a few street spaces out front. It’s unfortunate that when they were choosing a space for their restaurant, they clearly didn’t give much consideration to the parking situation. On a happy note, they now have a food truck for lunch. I went today and ordered the fish and chips, which was very tasty. I hope they start serving beer on their trucks. I will probably frequent their truck more than the restaurant because… that parking. Just… no.

I have been traveling to Bowling Green more frequently for work and am excited to see that the gastro pub trend is starting to arrive here. It appears to be well received by locals as there was a 45 minute wait for my guest and I on a Saturday night. We each ordered the house made Nut Brown Ale to kill time while we waited for our table. It was very smooth and had an excellent earthy flavor that wasn’t too heavy.
I ordered the Beef Burger with fries. The locally raised beef patty came served with poached apple slices and applewood bacon on an English muffin. The apple slices were a nice pairing with the onion and house made sauces. I was not impressed by the fries. Considering the hipster/​gastro pub ambiance that was so desperately trying to be accomplished, I was disappointed that they were nothing more than thin McDonald’s fries. Perhaps, I need to order a different side item on my next visit.
My guest told me that establishment has only been open for six months. That is why I said that there is plenty of potential. I think they just need some more time to figure out the menu.

Just as we were starting to believe the Kentucky wasn’t big on customer service we walked into White Squirrel Brewery.
We were greeted immediately by a staff person to let us know that the host was on his way back to the front. Then a waitress stopped and was super friendly and proceeded to describe the tshirts, koozies and other merch when she noticed we were looking at these items behind the host station.
Once we were quickly sat our waiter, Josh, was very pleasant and super excited. We ordered a flight of the house beers at Josh’s recommendation and as he pointed out it was the best deal around at $ 4 for three 4oz pours. We also ordered the beer cheese and spent grain breadsticks… we will revisit this later.
The beers came and all were quite good and we ordered our entrees. My boyfriend was torn between the chicken and waffles, the Hot chicken and the trio of sausages. So Josh suggested he get the Hot chicken and waffles and I got the Belly BLT with Kale chips.
Next thing we know our entrees were in front of us which was super fast and everything looked awesome. Unfortunately, our appetizer had never arrived. We informed Josh and he quickly apologized and removed the item from our tab. We were also visited by a young lady who was likely a manager and she also apologized to us.
Honestly, it was probably for the best because we ton of delicious food in front of us and thought that maybe this little snafu would allow for us to save room for dessert. It really felt like the staff was genuinely more upset about this little hiccup than we were.
Entrees were both amazing. We didn’t think you could make a waffle so moist and light. My BLT was more than enough food for one person and the kale chips were perfect. As we were wrapping up our dinner both Josh and the aforementioned young lady approached and apologized once again and told us to save room because a brownie was on its way.
This brownie was something truly special. It was super fudgey and moist and topped with salted caramel and bacon, yes BACON, along with some really quality vanilla ice cream. My boyfriend doesn’t typically care for dessert but I didn’t have to pressure him to help me finish this one.
Overall, White Squirrel Brewery has some good beers, good food and most importantly good people.

Great staff. Great beer, and growing. Out of this world good food! We got the Margarita Pizza and wow! Extraordinary. It’s like a bruschetta-​only better! Also, for those non beer lovers who have beer loving significant others, they have liquor! Brewery win. The owner Shawn is very friendly and loves hearing how everything is, he takes the experience to the next level. Please don’t drive by this place, it’s a must have!

This place is a gem in Bowling Green! Love the ambience, love the service, love the food! I was visiting from Miami and couldn’t believe that a place like this was here… The pizzas are awesome! Will come back for sure when I’m in town!!!

My experience was okay, food was tasty but serving size for the tacos left me wanting more. Kale chips were too oily for my taste. House beer was good but none were great. Service was poor, waitress confused the cards and was over charged for meal.
Overall, okay. Would I go back? Probably.

My boyfriend and I stopped in to check it out. It opened recently and he wanted to try their beer.
Parking sucks! It’s street parking or there is a crappy lot behind it– if you drive a small car– you’ll be all set it’s a tight fit!
We were greeted by a nice guy that offered us several seating options. We sat close to the bar area– they also have a nice patio.
I snapped a few pics of the menu and he said he would most definitely want to try several of their food options. He ordered a White Squirrel Pale Ale $ 7.00 and he enjoyed it.
The service was nice, the bathroom was clean, the parking sucks!

Great beer and food!!! Busy busy so how about a little patience! Fn relax man… have a beer!!!
Highly recommend this place!
