History

Established in 1996.

In 1996, Chris & Lisa Thompson brought the first Grinder to Bowling Green, Kentucky. Providing food madetoorder and a restaurant experience focused on superior customer service, Mancino’s quickly made a name for itself in the Bowling Green area. Over 17 years and one location later, along with the addition of manager, now coowners Ed & Micha Griffin, Mancinos has become a traditional stop for families, ball teams, high school & University students and church and social groups all over the area. What is a Grinder? The name «grinder» originates from the blue collar ship yards of the North East, where Italians would set up vending stands to serve the steel grinders of the yards. The sandwich had to be big, to satisfy the heavy appetite of the ship workers and served hot, to warm them up in the cold outdoors of the yard.
