History
Established in 2008.
Nestled in the heart of Bowling Green’s downtown district is one of Ohio’s true landmark treasures, the Cla Zel Theater. This edifice is a living historical monument that reflects a nostalgic era of Bowling Green’s storied past. The theater was first opened in 1926, making it Ohio’s oldest single screen movie theater. Credited with bringing the theater to its inception are Clark and Hazel Young, whom the theater is affectionately named after. Their collective vision and passion for the movie picture industry spawned the theatrical shrine, which has survived since the pre-depression period in Northwest Ohio.
