Decided to visit this office because it was close to my house and the pictures on their website seemed like they were a great place for kids. Staff was very friendly and tried to make my son who is 4yrs old seem comfortable. He came for a cleaning and regular exam with x-rays. The dental assistant attempted to complete a cleaning on my son but was unable to get a good cleaning done because he would not sit still long enough to let her do it. She was very nice and tried to be very patient with him. Once the dentist came in she was a little more stern and also completed a visual exam on him. After which told me my son had 12 cavities and needed to have extensive work completed. Without even completing a x-ray of his mouth she suggested he needed 4 crowns at least 2 or 3 root canals and some other dental work completed. This completely shocked me because to me his mouth did not seem to look that bad. She said he would go to the hospital be put to sleep and undergo 3 – 4 hours of work. Afterwards she told me to see the receptionist to find out more information about the procedure. After being seen by the front desk they gave me a printout and of two pages worth of work to be completed with an «estimated» out-of-pocket cost of $ 2928.00 but that amount could change once we got the x-rays which would be the day of surgery. I was told me to call back in two weeks to get a surgery date which would probably not be until May or June and the amount would have to get paid 21 days before surgery. How can I pay an estimated amount, I wanted an exact amount. They did not even suggest to get the smaller cavities taken care of first so they would not get worse. As a dentist I feel she should have at least told me to get x-rays first to see the exact problems that could get fixed right now. I was completely shocked I went to the bathroom and cried. After talking to a few friends I will be getting a second opinion. After thinking it over I was not pleased with all of my service. I wanted more of an explanation and treatment for my son instead having to wait 5 or 6 months to fill a cavity.

My son has been going to Dr. Berry for years and he loves this place. The office is clean and very kid friendly. The prices are reasonable. The doctors are awesome. My son has gotten his teeth pulled several times by Dr. Berry and Dr. Jordan. He doesn’t cry before, during, or after. I nor my son stress about going to the dentist. What an awesome feeling! !

Very disappointed with the experience I had with Dr. Berry and her staff. The major issues seem to derive from internal issues — lack of communication between the front of the staff and the back/clinical staff. Things started out OK enough with Dr. Berry and all of her assistants but once it got to the point where she was doing more intensive work on my child(cavities, etc.) there were continued issues with her/her staff not fully communicating what/how things would happen for our child. The final straw for us was when Dr. Berry gave our child a bright silver filling in a very prominent place near the front of her mouth even though we have dental insurance that does indeed cover a tooth colored filling. Nobody from the office took the time to fully explain any of this to us and when we brought up the issue, we were given a bit of a runaround followed by Dr. Berry blaming her entire front end staff because«that’s their job.» I understand things happen and my husband and I were willing to give the benefit of the doubt as Dr. Berry offered to redo the whole procedure and she agreed that she would even cover it(on the house) but afterwards? When my daughter even said she never wanted to go back there again and we respectfully and politely discussed this with Dr. Berry and we got nothing but attitude from her and the majority of her staff in addition to what seemed to be random bill(in a small amount– $ 7 and some odd cents) as well as mounting late fees tacked onto this despite our request to be told why/how the bill was relevant. In the end and after a lot of back and forth, Dr. Berry’s office manager called us back and finally agreed to «let» us pay the random $ 7 bill without all of the stacked late fees. Needless to say, we can’t recommend her services though we hope that what happened to us is something that isn’t a repeated occurrence for anyone else because it was truly horrible and not just for us but for our six year old child.

Great Dentist but the staff is not good and unprofessional. During my daughter’s last appt, the dentist assistant yelled at my 7 year old daughter because the x-ray tool was hurting the top of her mouth. I am very aware of this tool because it’s torturous for myself to get through it much less a child. I’m glad my husband took my daughter to that particular appointment and not me. I called and tried to transfer to the newer Bowie location and the lady who answered the phone told me to bring my child back to the Lake Arbor Office and she’ll set an appt the next time at the new office, otherwise, I’ll have to wait 6 months. I told her to just go ahead and cancel her appt at Lake Arbor and schedule her at the new office. She told me that they have been experiencing issues with the insurance company. I don’t really care about internal issues. I just wanted to get my daughter an appt. With that said, I chalk it up to another«Bad Customer Service Experience» and I will be taking my daughter elsewhere.

Love Dr. Berry. She was kind and worked with my toddler which was not feeling the whole thing. I am so happy that I chose this place.

Who likes the dentist?! Not many people that I know. LOL. However, my 2.5 year old does! Thanks to Dr. Berry and her staff. His very first visit was smooth and seamless. No tears and a lot of smiles. The staff was polite and welcoming. The facility is very clean and bright. If you can put a smile on my child’s face you put one on mine! Thanks to Dr. Berry and her staff for getting him started out on the right foot.

My kids wonder why anyone would dread going to the dentist. Their experiences at Berry’s Children’s Dental have been wonderful. We’ve been clients for six years now. Dr. Berry is knowledgeable and sets a welcoming tone that is carried throughout her practice. The office décor is vibrant and fresh. The lobby has a preschool playcenter, video game stations and young kids tv programs. At dental cleanings the kids are instructed on proper dental hygiene, so that they understand early on the importance of proper care. They get goody bags and prizes also. Parents are also given appropriate instruction and extensive time for addressing any concerns. The office may be busy at times, but I have never felt rushed. Once my 5 year old fell while running on the sidewalk. We called Dr. Berry for advice and they suggested she come in next day for a complimentary check. Kids who go for special services can enjoy an age appropriate movie during their treatment. What’s not to love? What’s most impressive is that they have maintained this standard of service for years.
