Bear Point Marina & Camps

Located at the end of quiet Bear Point Rd, the Bear Point Marina has a store with many essentials, gas, campsites, sandbox for kids, volley ball, horseshow courts, and two private cottages. The marina property is situated on a beautiful view of Sebec Lake which we have been visiting for almost 10 years now. This was our first time actually staying at a cottage on the marina property. We usually stay with extended family down the road but that camp was too full this year.
We stayed in cottage 1 with a deck which overlooks the water. You can’t beat the view!
Cottage 1 has a nice layout with a living area in the front with a sofa, two chairs and a coffee table/​end table. The eat-​in-​kitchen is the central part of the cottage with two bedrooms off it. This set up worked out nice since we were traveling with our toddler and dog. Our daughter slept in the back bedroom so it was more quiet and we could stay up late either in the living room or outside by our own fire ring. The cottage has all the essentials you need for a Maine adventure, kitchen pots/​pans, tupperware, pitcher, mugs, plates, bowls, & utensils. The cottage was clean and kept up to date. The only negative for us were the double beds. They were pretty uncomfortable and my husband is 6’5″ so he was hanging off of it. But it beats an air mattress on a wet tent floor!
The marina owners are friendly and always available if you have any issues but leave you alone at the same time to enjoy your time. The power went out during our stay due to a downed tree which means no well water or toilets. The owners got their generator going to get those two amenities back online which was very appreciated! They have a new pizza oven and sell pizzas and pizza rolls. We did try both during our stay. Delicious and very flavorful. Although it did take a bit long to get our order, so I recommend giving them a lot of notice if you want to eat by a certain time.
The rate was $ 125 a night which was very reasonable for the location and privacy. It’s also right on the ATV trails which is great for riders. All in all a great stay even though the weather was spotty (but it’s Maine so you have to expect it). We’d definitely stay here again.
