So glad they moved to a new location and updated things.(They listened). Now they need to work on a little customer service and they will get another star.(Next time I hope the owner takes care of the customer instead of chatting with a masseuse trying to get a table in the place)…

I’m still on the fence about how many stars to give Coco Bay. I might have to revise this review after a while. Yes, this place is old. Yes, this place is in need of some repair. If you want a luxury tanning salon, go elsewhere. If you want the SAME tanning bed you’ll get at that luxury salon for a lower price, go to Coco Bay. What really sells Coco Bay for me are two things: 1) They emphasize package purchases(single tans valid for one year, great for those of us who tan less frequently), and 2) The 10% tan tax is included in their list prices. My main concern is similar to another Unilocaler’s who reviewed Coco Bay. The Level 1 beds are weak. I bought a month of Level 1 that entitles you to unlimited use of the Ruva, Wolff, and Tropical beds. I was up to 15 minutes in the Ruva and Tropical beds, so I started in on my Level 2 Ultra 600 tans(20 tans purchased, valid for one year). Usually, once I’m up to 15 in a Level 1, I can do the 600 for full time and not get pink at all. Well, I was lobster status after one tan in the 600. This tells me, without a doubt, that the Level 1 beds either have super old bulbs or are those very old, low wattage machines. I’m an extremely responsible tanner, doing everything I can not to damage my skin, and I did experience some minor damage because of the way they maintain their Level 1 equipment. On the bright side, I can confirm that the Ultra 600 is a high quality machine. I do like that Coco Bay considers the Ultra 600 a Level 2 bed, whereas most salons consider it Level 3, so I save a fair amount of cash simply because of how they categorize their beds. They have two 600s, and one is perpetually broken. I have seen their maintenance person in the salon before, so I’m not sure why it’s not yet fixed. At least they’re trying, I guess. If you like Mystic tanning, you’ll have to go elsewhere, unfortunately. They have no spray tan booths. They do, however, have custom airbrush spray tanning. I haven’t tried this service, so I can’t comment. The weirdest thing I’ve found about the salon are their«summer hours.» They change their hours for the season to 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday — Friday and 10 a.m. — 6 p.m. on Saturday. I honestly hate that. I like tanning early in the morning or after it’s dark. BUT if it saves me money because of a reduced staff, fine. And by the way, the two girls on staff whom I have met are friendly and helpful. Ultimately, Coco Bay is a great value tanning salon. I would absolutely recommend it over Body Perfect Bountiful and Planet Beach.
