Happy Pizza Llc

If you want great Italian food, check out the Italian/​Mexican restaurant, Happy Pizza, in Bound Brook. I’ve been a fan of this place for a couple years now but am finally getting around to writing a review. I’ve only eaten there about 3 times but order delivery often.
I’ve given them for 5 stars because of price, portion size, flavor, quality and service. Tonight we ordered 2 dinners: spaghetti and meatballs and chicken parmigiano. The cost (without tip) was $ 21.50. That would be a great value for 2 meals but we’ll actually get another 2 meals from these portions. 4 meals for $ 21.50! Wahoo!
Now the meals themselves – first of all, not only do you get the entrée, but with it comes a great salad and garlic bread. The salad is FRESH with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, green peppers and onions in a classic, delicious vinaigrette. The garlic bread is equally fresh (you know they made it just for your order) and seasoned perfectly. There are 3 HUGE meatballs cut in half that come with the spaghetti. They’re moist and meaty and not filled with breading. The chicken is moist and tender and cooked just right. I’ve paid a lot more in other places and this is THE BEST chicken parmigiano I’ve every had (and the price makes it even better)! Finally, let me say a word about the sauce here. Tomato sauce can really make or break a dish. The sauce here is spot on. It’s so perfectly balanced – not too sweet, not too spicy, not too bitter. I can’t say it enough. It’s PERFECT!

This is my first review of an eatery. I rely on other’s reviews often, and decided that I need to make an effort to contribute. My boyfriend, who has lived in Bound Brook literally forever, noticed this place recently and decided to try it out for a couple of slices…(he’s a pizza aficionado). He thought the pizza was very good and he brought home a menu for me because He knows I am always in search of good, simple, mexican food. I was a little wary at first because a place that serves Italian & Mexican food just seems… shall we say a bit different? But, my wariness faded upon eating my first tortilla chip served with salsa verde. They have a very large menu for a small place. Bottom line… though I didn’t try it… the pizza looked delicious, the tacos were excellent, and the service was very friendly. I look forward to going back to sample more of the menu. This Gringo is quite pleased to have found this place right in her own backyard. If you live in Bound Brook and haven’t explored the downtown eateries, i recommend that you give this one a try.

Since I last reviewed Happy Pizza in 2011, the place has grown by leaps and bounds. The nachos no longer have cheap store bought chips. They are excellent using fresh Ingredients. The burritos are among the best in the area especially the al pastor. The sandwiches are large and nicely stuffed. All in all I haven’t had much at Happy Pizza that isn’t first rate. The only knock is that their delivery is excruciatingly slow.

I stop here after visiting Elk’s Barber Shop around the corner, and sometimes on my way home from work.
Service is always super-​friendly and the prices are very reasonable, even the kids of the owners who work there (I support child labor — builds character!).
Diverse menu of Mexican and pizza/​Italian, though I’ve only had the pizza. Micro garlic knots are ten cents a piece.
Good value.

Found a hair in my food! Gross will never order again!
