History

Established in 1983.

Veranda Sun was established in 1983, making us the first tanning salon in Boulder! Since our formation we have grown with the Boulder community and our salon has been constantly updated to provide our clients with a top of the line tanning experience. Today, we offer our clients 8 different levels of tanning beds as well as a variety of sunless options. Our salon has more tanning beds than any other salon in Boulder! In total, we have 19 beds to provide the best possible bronzing results. Our Red Light Therapy treatment is UVA and UVB free, with proven results of pain relief and skin rejuvenation. Also our custom airbrush solution is hand blended with an anti-​aging formula that will leave your skin feeling completely hydrated. Our staff is always friendly and informed, and our number one priority is giving you the best possible tanning experience from the moment you walk through the door. Come visit us today!

What a refreshing experience. Every other tanning salon I’ve visited tries to pressure you into buying lotions, packages, more expensive beds, tanning goggles, etc. it’s always an exhausting experience and I’d always leave in a bad mood. At veranda sun, the employees are always really sweet and welcoming, never pressure you to buy anything, and are honest about the effectiveness of each bed. The beds are always clean and consistently deliver awesome results. It’s also important to note that the prices are veranda sun are less than most tanning salons I’ve visited.

As a tanning beginner, this place was perfect! I walked in without a clue and the friendly front desk staff helped me through each step (what type of lotions to use, what bulbs do what, how long to tan, etc). The best part was the easy cancellation! I just walked in on the 20th and asked to cancel my membership — the owner did it, no questions asked.

Best tanning place I’ve ever been to! I have had airbrush tans around the globe (is that weird?) in LA, Philadelphia, London, Ibiza, etc and I can confidently say that veranda sun is right on par with some of the best LA Airbrush places, without all of that attitude. First, their formula smells the best out of all airbrush formulas I’ve had on me. Second, their tan DOESNT FADE FOR WEEKS. It’s insane! It lasts at least 1 week for me every time– and they don’t fade in a splotchy way AT ALL! It’s so even, you barely notice the color has gone. Third– I never have trouble getting an appointment for the airbrush. Lastly– the airbrush is so consistently good that I look 5 pounds thinner every time. Hanna is so nice and she remembers you which is sweet.

Best tanning in Boulder. Super friendly staff (especially Lauren and Hanna), great air brush techs, and reasonable tanning prices. They also run specials on occasion which helps to save money. Very clean and well-​decorated as well.

Emailed them to ask about a coupon code and to schedule a custom airbrush tan, which isn’t cheap ($ 45!). (I would have been a regular customer too!) Instead of responding, they ignored the email, but took the liberty to sign me up for their email updates… Thanks a lot. And to top it off, the first email I got was asking me to write a positive review for them in exchange for a $ 10 gift card… Glad I did not go here! Sounds super shady if you have to BUY your reviews.

Love the choices of tanning beds and other beauty services! They stock a lot of products I use, they do change up the lotions now and then. However I the prices are a bit high, wish they had prices based on minuets rather than tans. If I pay $ 20 for 10min the same as 15 I would visit way more for a quickly or some sort. It is boulder however… Also another tanning salon supplied complementary lotions which was nice I case I dried out on a section of my tan. Anyway great front counter help. I give that 4stars. It however is great place to stop by!

Have done 2 custom spray tans with Kelsey and each time my interactions with her have been among the highlights of my day (on otherwise totally good days!). Plus she did an AWESOME job with my spray tan. The personalized spray tan is worth every penny of the fee. The environment is very friendly and welcoming. The staff made me feel comfortable wearing a disposable thong! Need I say more? The spray tan service only took only 25 minutes from when I walked in to redressing and leaving. Their website has all of the information needed to be prepared for the service.
