History

Established in 2009.

Elizabeth Riley, aka RetouchRiley, began working in NYC as a digital artist and fine art printer after graduating with an Art Degree in Photography. She was traditionally trained in classic film and digital photography. Elizabeth mentored under the best traditional retouchers in New York until gaining enough experience and technique. After years of adjusting colors and minor retouching, she began more advanced retouching composites and manipulations. RetouchRiley gained more experience retouching celebrities for Corbis and Sony Music. Five years into her career she was Lead Retoucher for Picturehouse, a studio with clients that included Annie Leibovitz, Richard Avedon, Terry Richardson and many other high profile fashion photographers. For the next five years, Elizabeth worked as a Senior Retoucher for Nucleus Imaging and worked on advertising campaigns for top brands such as The Gap, Banana Republic, and more. In 2009, Elizabeth became RetouchRiley, as a freelancer photo retoucher.

Meet the Business Owner

Elizabeth R.

Business Owner

I started working under the name RetouchRiley and always continued to develop my passion for photography. I worked as a retoucher in the fashion industry for the best in the business and developed really high standards for imagery. After living in New York City for 11 years I needed a lifestyle change. I began a photography project while living with indigenous midwives in rural Guatemala documenting the beauty of birth. Soon after, I moved to Boulder to be closer to nature. It was the best decision of my life, despite the challenges of starting over in a new city. The first couple of years in Boulder I would often fly back to NYC for work. Soon I gained enough contacts with local photographers and advertising agencies to work locally. I love this community. There are many entrepreneurs, designers, and this is the place to be for tech start ups. I look forward to creating more and working with the top creatives in Colorado. I’m currently the staff photographer for The Scout Guide.
