Radiometrics designs and manufactures instruments, called radiometers, which are used for remote sensing of the atmosphere.

We have also partnered with Earth Networks, Inc. to deploy a nation-​wide network of radiometers from which customers can purchase data. Customers can purchase or lease radiometers, too.

Radiometrics also builds downward looking radiometers that are useful for a wide variety of applications such as soil moisture measurement.

History

Established in 1982.

Radiometrics was founded by several scientist from the United State National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). In the beginning, special purpose custom radiometers were made. Over they years, production products emerged which are now being deployed in «networks» to improve short-​term weather forecasts. The company now employees approximately 25 people and are selling products world-​wide, especially in China and India.

I am the CEO hired by the major shareholders to drive the company from a small production/​manufacturing company into a high production company, consistent with the hunger of meteorological applications for large number of radiometers which are cheap, reliable, and accurate.
