Our heated indoor dive pool is Boulder County’s premier aquatic learning environment. We keep it at a comfortable 88°F, perfect for both swim lessons and scuba certification. One-​third is a 4′ shallow end devoted to swimming and two-​thirds has a 12′ flat bottom conducive to scuba training. We also have private locker rooms, showers and a break room with refrigerator and microwave.

Ocean First Divers is an eco travel center, offering domestic and international scuba & snorkel vacations for both individuals and the entire family. We conduct monthly open water scuba certification dives and travel to the Florida Keys year round. We also frequent Central America, the Caribbean & South Pacific. At OFD, there’s always an exotic adventure that’s right for you.

History

Established in 2005.

Ocean First Divers was founded to be an advocate for ocean ecosystems in the dive industry by stressing education, conservation and sustainability.

We work closely with the dive industry, environmentalists, non-​profit organizations and local communities to help educate and empower a generation that must recognize the importance of maintaining our oceans.

Our steadfast commitment to sustainable business practices has earned us PADI’s Environmental Achievement Award every year since its inception – an honor that no other dive business on the planet has achieved. We received a second, equally prestigious accolade once we switched to Scuba Schools International, gaining their highly acclaimed Diamond Dealer rating.

Meet the Business Owner

Graham C.

Business Owner

Graham was born in Jackson Hole, WY but moved to California as a child. At the age of eight snorkeling in Grand Cayman, he noticed a group of divers exploring a wreck deep below. He remembers well the feeling of the bubbles rising to the surface and bursting against his skin.. After eighteen years on the ocean, Graham moved to Boulder to attend the University of Colorado and study marketing and entrepreneurship. His love for traveling and the ocean have led him to dive destinations all over the world. His favorites include Micronesia, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Australia, Cocos Island and the Caribbean.

The seed for Ocean First Divers was planted in 2005 after returning from a trip to Blackbird Caye in Belize. Graham wanted a way to continue exploring the reefs of the world while protecting the environment he loves. Over the course of fifteen months, he created a company that combines the qualities of people who love diving and the ocean with the goal of preserving our reefs.
