Colorado photographer Merrick Chase has a lifestyle feel to his work and specializes in Wedding, Portrait, Commercial, and Event Photography in the greater Boulder and Denver areas. His Portrait Studio is located just five minutes from Boulder’s Pearl Street Mall, where he shoots studio photography of all kinds including advertising and product photography, family photos and business portraits, engagement photos and senior photos; the list goes on. Merrick’s studio offers numerous natural outdoor settings for photos as well, including a 22-​foot waterfall, meadows, and pine and cottonwood groves. Merrick also shoots portraits on location at any of a hundred beautiful outdoor locations in Boulder. Event photography services range from corporate functions to festivals and weddings, concerts, and professional sporting events. Merrick knows how to work well with people and excels at putting clients at ease in front of the lens in order to capture beautiful images, whatever the subject.

History

Established in 2006.

Merrick Chase Photography was started in Crested Butte, Colorado in 2006 and moved to Telluride in 2008 where its owner Merrick Chase began doing business as Telluride Photography. Through intimate and extensive coverage of ‘all things Telluride,’ the business established itself as a household name in the area in a very short amount of time and proudly came to be known as ‘Telluride’s Event Photographer.’ Today, the business maintains an excellent reputation in the SW Colorado region, and continues to provide services to numerous [regional] businesses, publications, events, festivals, and visitors to the area. Merrick Chase Photography currently operates out of Boulder, Colorado and serves the entire Front Range area, offering clients the expertise gained from years of shooting everything under the sun in Colorado– in addition to Merrick’s 25-​plus years of experience looking out from behind the lens. Business Owner

I first began taking pictures in 1982, when my grandmother bought me my first Nikon. I enjoy photographing people because you never know what you might evoke in someone, and what you may end up capturing in a frame. I enjoy photographing just about everything else because there are so many ways to compose an image, and because the world provides an endless supply of ever-​changing subject matter. Today I shoot Weddings and Commercial Photography, Portraiture of any kind– from executive to family– and Events of many kinds– from Festivals and Sporting Events to Corporate and Lifestyle Functions, all over Colorado’s Front Range. In addition to Merrick Chase Photography, I also own Telluride Photography, where I offer my services to clients in southwestern Colorado. There I also contribute images to a number of area publications and organizations including Visit Tel​luride​.com, the Telluride Visitor’s Guide and Telluride Magazine, Telluride Ski and Golf, as well as others.
