My all-time favorite grocery store in Denver. Clean, big, has liquor store in it, and friendly staff.

This is your typical King Soopers location, with all of the normal amenities. It is located in Boulder so it tends to be on the busier side. The parking lot isn’t the greatest. People seem to struggle with parking here. There are usually a lot of checkout lanes open(more than other locations), but there always seems to be a line. I prefer self-checkout, which usually goes quickly. Don’t let the busyness dissuade you. You can still get in and out pretty quickly as long as you don’t buy too much. ;)

This kings is always super crowded. Maybe because the aisles are smaller in this store compared to the others. Sometimes people bump into me with their shopping carts. Check out lines are long and slow and navigating the parking lot can feel like your threading the eye of a needle. I avoid this kings when ever possible and go to the one on Table Mesa. Much bigger. Friendlier. Less crowded. Easier to navigate.

Convenient location, but kind of dirty looking from the outside. It’s not appealing to see the staff smoking outside the store

I’ve been making the trip here from NoBo for almost 2 years and now I’m really asking myself why. With the exception of one or two checkers, everyone is SO.DARN.SLOW. One checker last week was chatting up the customer, which is great IF you can multi-task which this clerk clearly could NOT. So I moved to the line next to me and then was told by an employee looking awfully official wth a clipboard that«unfortunately that lane is closed». Of course when I went back to the chatty clerk line new people were in line in front of me. Then when I finally got to the front and a bagger came along to help the same official employee told the bagger something which caused him to drop everything and leave my groceries half bagged. Very disorganized and slow. :(

Good place to get fresh flowers and their meat selection is usually pretty good. Crowded.

This King Soopers is very near to work and my colleagues and I have enjoyed many a trek there as an out of office sanctuary. Not to mention a quick lunch run which often turns into a full blown grocery store exploration. One never does know what they will find. Some days there’s sushi or Starbucks samples, while on other days there’s fresh fruit in the produce section. Now on many a visit I’m honestly surprised about what I uncover(Orange crush muffins, Haunted Ghost Pepper Chips, full bottles of Taco Bell fiery sauce, and Broncos inspired orange french bread etc…). This is in part what makes these visits most exciting. The other exciting piece of exploring King Soopers is the hunt for clearance items. From the freezer to the bakery there are many a deals to be uncovered. Post holiday sales are my favorite. Bottom line is this is a one stop shop for most of your grocery needs(they even have libations: beer and kombucha that is just high enough in alcohol to require a 21+ photo id). From organic fruits/veggies, to fresh baked items this conveniently located store is worth a visit.

Who wants to ever have a one star experience anywhere? Certainly not me. And certainly not here. But it happened. During a routine shopping for dinner brief in and out session here, my daughter and I were followed by a store employee… probably a manager, who kept asking if he could help us. It was annoying at first and downright disturbing by the time we were ready to check out. We were polite to the employee and even asked him a question about where to find one item my daughter was looking for. But this was a bad experience and when considered in comparison to other unpleasant experiences I have had in this same store it is one of the worst. Why do I keep shopping here? I cannot answer that…

What has happened to this store recently? I have shopped here for 30 years and now have to encounter employees stocking shelves and blocking aisles, «out of stock» regular items(they were out of zucchini one time!), changes to less-quality brands. Every time I go there I return home with things no longer crossed off my list. I wrote a letter to the manager over two month ago and have never received a response. There has obviously been some management changes here … and they are not for the better.

Great people watching… it’s better than the assortment of circus folks you would find in Vegas lingering on the slot machines

Is this Boulder? It felt more like a 3rd world country. This store is mess. It features a completely illogical layout, and a spotty/bizarre selection– particularly lacking in natural & organic items. It was filthy. On the evening(9pm) I was there, they must have decided«Let’s stock the whole store at once so half the shelves are blocked and inaccessible.» I had wondered if any grocery store could be a worse nightmare than the Boulder Whole Foods down the street. At least it makes sense and has a wide selection, which makes it totally worth putting up with the clientele and prices. Guess I’ll be going there from now on.

Pharmacy inefficient compared to Table Mesa. Third visit was a charm, won’t be going back. All three visits were a frustrating mix with the window pharmacist who is clearly burned out working the window. She isn’t rude, but she is impatient when answering questions about instructions about taking the medicines and about insurance issues. Also, when told the wait is 20 minutes, they took 45′.

They have stepped up, this king soopers is the best in Boulder, clean, produce is always good, management must be very particular because it shows in the way the store is run. The employees are awesome friendly and willing to help, especially the produce crew and the deli crew. Ill miss this KS when i move. Oh and the soup island… Moved to where it can be monitered.

There’s a few things about King Soopers that you just can’t beat. First off, for every purchase you get gas points which can be redeemed for a discount on gas and the King Soopers location. I don’t know about you, but getting any type of discount on gas is surely an incentive for me to shop at your establishment. In terms of quality and price I think King Soopers is among the best. They always have really great specials and deals, especially on produce and I have never purchased anything that was poor quality. You definitely want to get a King Soopers card. Even if you don’t shop there often it is still worth the deals you can get while you are there. Every once in a while King Soopers mails out extra coupons, I used them last time and was able to save an extra $ 20! They have a couple aisles dedicated to natural and organics foods and I think they do a great job of covering the essentials. There are still lots of specialty items I need to get at places like Whole Foods but for the most part King Soopers has what I need. Not to mention they are 24 hours. Not too many places stay open super late in Boulder and I love that this place is available whenever I need anything.

A decent traditional supermarket. I used to shop here more regularly but now mostly shop at Whole Foods for food. But there are still a few brand name items I like here and many non-food brand name items. I can always find what I need, the people are friendly but the store is old and crowded and there is rarely any one in the aisles to help. Prices are good but on some items like laundry detergent, Target is better.

2012 Review #303: I think this is a well balanced King Soopers. They have your normal grocery store products, and they have health-food-store type products. They have a natural foods section which keeps things together. They have everything Whole Foods offers but cheaper. For example they had PB2 for $ 2 less per jar than at WF. The bakery area is a little nicer than usual. Since I’m often trying to buy donuts here, I love that they not only have a good variety in the case, they also stock pre-assembled dozen donuts at the back of the store and at the front as you walk in. This makes my whole in-store experience take under 1 minute, which is ideal. There is ample self-checkout, also, and I’ve never had to wait in line. Lastly, they now have gas! This is pretty much the only affordable place to buy gas in Boulder, and that alone makes me happy. That and cheap donuts.

I’m a King Soopers regular and this is why I go here rather than other places: –good value for food –great produce and cheese selection –open 24 hours –larger selections than Safeway(which is also close) –organic aisles and nuts/oats dispensers –good parking lot I do have to say I prefer the smaller organic places, but it’s not as economical to go to them all the time

Okay, okay, I’m coming around. King Sooper’s is starting to appeal to my middle class sensibilities, especially after my introductory tour of the new jewelry store in Boulder: Alfalfa’s(well, I think it’s priced like a jewelry store) My grandparents used to say«if a little is good, a lot is better.» Kudos to whomever came up with the idea of(I’m guessing) shooting a chicken full of hormones to make it huge, so people who think like I do when it comes to delicious things, will buy it, love it and tell their friends! $ 7.99 for this«colossal» rotisserie chicken. Works for me!!!
