To date, the company has produced more than 515 websites, including database-​driven e-​commerce and B2B sites as well as corporate portfolio and brand sites. And Insight’s work goes beyond sites to include native apps, branding, logo designs, email newsletter creation and management, search engine optimization and more.

Beth Krodel — Nico Toutenhoofd ‚.

Business Owner

Beth Krodel and Nico Toutenhoofd founded Insight Designs in 1999. Beth oversees operations, marketing, finance and HR; Nico is the technology guru; and together, they handle business development and project management. Beth is a problem solver and prides herself on creating sites, applications, and interfaces that are sophisticated and intuitive. Nico is an open-​source advocate who believes in leveraging existing solutions. Their clients include global brands (Pepsi, Crocs and Spyder), esteemed academic institutions (Duke University, University of Colorado and Johns Hopkins University), and high-​tech firms (Level 3, Send Grid and Spectralink). They helped Versus create an iOS app for streaming live Tour de France video and real-​time GPS map data, and they developed ThisLife, a cloud-​based photo sharing service and iOS app that was acquired by Shutterfly. Before becoming web entrepreneurs, Beth and Nico were award-​winning journalists for the Detroit Free Press.
