Our Boulder condo complex was among the worst damaged in town from the September, 2013 floods, and our own condo was on the bottom level.(It was euphemistically called a «garden level» apartment when we bought it, but was classified as a «basement apartment» when we tried to make an insurance claim on it, BTW.). The property management company we had at the time of the flood, which was based in L.A., saw us as too much trouble, dumped us quickly and ran. Our HOA then hired Hast, a home-grown, Boulder property management company, and they saw us through an extended period of extremely difficult times of hassling with insurance companies and lawyers, and then stuck with us through getting the place rebuilt — a 2 year project. Hast has been responsive, personable and helpful, and it’s always easy to get a real person on the phone there who can give you answers. Thank you, Hast.

Hast Co. was responsible for managing a building at 15th& Pearl where we owned a unit. We had some flooding through the roof, which Hast said they would repair as part of the HOA. The repair work was extremely shoddy and the leak continued. The owner of Hast, Tom Hast himself finally called and asked me to lie to the insurance company about the cause of the leak which was due to one of Hast’s contractor puncturing the roof membrane. Tom Hast is a lying low life. He has lied repeatedly to me and my husband. Doesn’t return phone calls or emails and blames his staff when problems surface. Avoid dealing with Hast if possible. Our building fired Hast and hired Heartwood Property Managers. Heartwood has been just OK, at least they return our calls promptly.

Just had to deal with one of the rudest people at a management company I’ve ever had to talk to. I am a professional in the business calling for basic information and I encountered someone who was sarcastic, rude and basically hung up on me after answering my question. If you are looking for a management company to represent you I would go anywhere but here…
