Kalpana is magic. She waxed my eyebrows almost a month ago and you can barely see the regrowth. She also gave me the best lower body wax ever, I was smooth for over two weeks– way long than my experiences most places. She matches the wax to your skin type and really knows her business. She is also one of the kindest people I have ever met and she is super funny. A++++ experience at this place, give yourself the gift that keeps giving and go see Kalpana at Guru Spa!

I have been going to Kalpana for waxing and nails 8 or so years. She is amazing at what she does, quick, efficient and careful. Not only is she a phenomenal esthetician but she is also so kind-​hearted, funny and caring. She is such a sweet woman and over the years I have grown to consider her a close friend. I highly recommend her for any service you are interested in whether it is your first or hundredth time, she will take great care of you. She takes a lot of pride in her work and it definitely shows.

I have been a client of Gurus Spa and Kalpanas for years. She is great for all types of waxing and mani/​pedis. When you walk into her place I begin to relax and know she will pamper me. Kalpana has a bubbly personality and has provides excellent client service. Gurus is a hidden gem in Boulder and I would highly recommend it.

I have been getting waxed by Kalpana for almost 7 years and let me tell you, she is the best! I recently moved to DC and crave my trips back to Boulder so I can set up an appointment with her. She is careful and meticulous with her work while managing to be quick about it. Not to mention, she is one of the kindest, funniest people you will meet. If you’re getting your first wax (as I was 7 years ago), she will make you feel comfortable.
I am not one for manicures as I peel it all the polish off within days, but the pedicure’s I have gotten at Guru spa are long-​lasting and such a treat.

If you are looking for an amazing manicurist and bikini wax Kalpana at Gura spa is amazing. She is really professional and does an excellent job. I have been going to her for a few years and no one comes close to the excellent job she does. They are in a new quaint N. Boulder location with easy parking.

If you’ve never had your eyebrows threaded, Kalpana is a great place to start. I was a little nervous my first time, but she talked me through the whole process and they turned out great! I’ll seriously never wax again. Threading looks so, so much better and is much safer for your skin. She rarely answers the phone, but she always returns my call within the hour, even if I don’t leave a message. Plus, Kalpana is such a sweet person. The last time I was there, I said, «Kalpana, they look so beautiful! Thanks!» And she replied, «Oh honey, they’re your beautiful eyebrows; I just cleaned them up a little.» :)

Below average, and I’m not that picky. Almost no exfoliation on my heels, just a light scrub, and very light cuticle work on my nails. Instead of buffing my fingernails as I had asked, the manicurist just sort of smoothed them a bit. Not going back.

I came in for a brazilian wax, and am very pleased. I was waxed by Kalpana and she was quick, efficient and paid attention to detail and also very friendly. Any time I am in Boulder and in need of a wax, I plan on coming back!

The people were really very nice here but the actual pedicure wasn’t that great. I’ve paid much less in NYC for much better quality. I wasn’t feeling the nail shape, even though I asked for it to be squared off. They didn’t really clean the cuticles and it took way too long! You’d think I’d have gotten a massage or something. I’ll be moving on to another nail salon in the area, but thanks for the one time fix. One good thing is that they’re open until 7pm on Sundays.

Great experience — went in for a bikini wax and a pedicure. quick and efficient and very pleasant vibe — my pedicure was amazingly well done and relaxing. The bikini wax was clean and fast — great job by both technicians — will be back.

Best manicure by far. Meticulous. Great salon and week later, no chips!

I’ve recently relocated to the boulder area, and was referred to Guru Spa for an eyebrow waxing. I was severely burned all of the skin around my eyebrows is completely red, swollen and painful. I will not be going back. I will try to find a local threader or jus tweeze them myself. The worst part is she tried not to even acknowledge that my skin was red and burnt,

By definition, the one star is for Eek! Methinks not.
I went here for a manicure and I can honestly say I won’t be returning to this spa for nails. Ever. I don’t care how long the polish lasts.
I found my way in via it’s positive Unilocal reviews and found my way out in a state of shock. At a staggering $ 28 for a manicure I’m amazed I was sane enough to even drive afterwards.
Granted I should have checked their unposted prices before I ever sat down, but never in my wildest dreams did I expect a wax and nail spa behind a gas station off of 28^th to come with that kind of price tag.
This place is trying to be like Ten20. They charge a lot, the set up is creepily similar, but there’s no M&Ms and the color selection for polish isn’t as good. Oh and it’s not on Pearl. I should also point out that I don’t go to Ten20. I prefer salons with the crappy massage chairs that come with a $ 12 manicure.

I used a Living Social coupon a few weeks ago. The nail techs were distracted, and the one doing my pedicure gouged me under my nail. Now I’m on antibiotics and still have pus draining from under my nail. Save yourself time, money and infection and DON’T GO HERE!!!

I was a loyal customer of Kalpana when she was at ten20 — the only person I would let come near me with hot wax. She’s fantastic. One day, she disappeared and I went on a waxing strike until I could find her. Thankfully she’s opened up Guru Spa and I can feel the burn once again.
This isn’t a hoity-​toity spa (which is just fine by me) but everyone is very nice, friendly, and helpful. The prices are really great, too!

Ok, so living social was the reason I was here. I came in on a Thursday to get a mani and pedi before a friends wedding. By Saturday morning two of my fingers had small chips in the polish. Boo! It was not worth having them fixed but I would have hoped that a professionally done manicure would last longer than 2 days. My toes were fine.
The polish selection was nice but not overly impressive. The staff was friendly enough. The atmosphere was ok. It was not your typical Asian run nail salon. And it was not a high end salon either. I would probably not go out of my way to come to this spa again, unless they had another deal.

I bought a Living Social coupon for my friend and I here and loved the experience!
It’s so nice inside and doesn’t stink like most nail salons. There are super comfy chairs and the ladies are really nice. One of them is really funny.
You get to sip on chai or tea while getting your mani/​pedi and plenty of magazines around.
My only complaint is that they need more nail colors, luckily they had an orange, which is what I definitely wanted before walking in. There are plenty of pinks though.
Thus far, there hasn’t been a nail place I would go back to but I’d definitely come back here.

I recently purchased a Groupon for Guru spa. When I drove up, I’ll admit it’s not in the nicest of strip malls. BUT, you walk in and all of that changes. It’s very well done inside and very clean which is KEY. Everyone was extremely friendly. I have some damage to some of my nails… but my pedicure was perfect! Manicure also awesome. I highly recommend for mani/​pedi.
