Grace on Pearl first opened for business on the first floor of the West End Plaza building in 9-​14-​2009. Now I am located at 1035 Pearl St. Suite 217 on the second floor of the West Plaza building. My opening day there was on 4-​4-​2011.

Hi there! I am Grace & I am from San Diego, I moved to Co in 2004. I have been in the industry since 1993. I love people, hair, fashion, food & comedy. Come in, have a seat, maybe enjoy some candy & let’s take a look at your hair. I try to give the best customer service possible, most of my reveiws show that.

I have had the privilege of discovering different types of hair textures. I found out what trends were current. I learned about guests’ struggles & how their hair performs with the area’s weather, humidity and lack of moisture. I feel that no matter what your back ground is or where you are in life at the moment, people deserve great hair on top of feeling great without being judged or exposed to drama. I hope after a session with me you will feel good, happy and human.

I came here based on the stellar reviews and 5 weeks later I’m still regretting that choice. I went to see Grace for a partial highlight and a cut. The cut was merely her shearing my hair thru thinning (I swear it resembles a mullet) and the color was an orangy yellow mess that wasn’t highlights but a full color with streaky painted messiness. I was not happy and she quickly began slopping on a darker color to correct it. After nearly 5 hours in her chair I left in tears with my orange hued mess of a mullet. She offered to correct it but it was in such bad shape I declined. She was gracious enough to refund my money but I will be growing this out for the next year. Never again.

I have a lot of very straight hair and it takes someone with mad skills to make it stylish and fresh. Grace nailed the asymmetric hairstyle! I’m so pleased. It’s been 2 weeks and it looks better than ever. Thank you Grace.

I have been looking for someone that could give me a really good haircut and that I feel comfortable with. I finally found her!!! Grace did a fantastic job with my hair (lots of compliments already today) and she made the experience a lot of fun. One of the things I like the most is that you book your appointments online so you can see exactly what times are available. This also means that she doesn’t take time away from your haircut to answer phone calls. She’s great – I’ll definitely be going back!

Grace REALLY knows hair. She always does a truly amazing job with my highlights and cut. Her salon is very comfortable and she uses great products. Her scheduling online is very easy. If I am ever unsure of what service to book (because after all, I am not a hair stylist), I just call or email and ask her before I book. With Grace I always know that I am dealing with a professional and my hair will look fabulous :)

So my beloved hair guru of 9 years moved out of state and left me and my hair looking sad. I hopped around a bit, always disappointed, couldn’t seem to click with anyone. Checked the Unilocal reviews and decided to give Grace a try. I’m not religious, but thank you sweet Jesus! Grace is amazing! Just like the other reviews say, she takes time to get to know your hair, she teaches you about your hair, and she makes your hair look FABULOUS! I left feeling on top of the world and have found my new guru. Don’t move Grace!

My hair is thin and I have so little. I’ve always had a hard time finding stylists that can cut it well and usually have to go back in for fixes. Grace’s cuts are beautiful! She has a wealth of knowledge and always has suggestions etc. Sometimes she inundates with a little bit too much info but it’s just because she is so passionate about what she does. Guaranteed you will love what she does with your hair!

Best haircut I’ve probably ever had. Even when I wake up in the morning with bed head, it still looks fun in a tousled kind of way. Grace was very thoughtful in her approach, cutting when it was dry so she could see how my hair normally falls, and asking about my usual styling routine (nothing, not even blow drying). Totally worth the money, and I will be back!

Just got a cut from Grace today and it’s amazing! It’s typically hard to find good haircuts for men’s hair but this was my best cut yet. She clearly knows what she’s doing, and offered some great styling tips for me for some of my common issues. She’s by appointment only so quality is good, but she’s also hilarious and down to earth. The comfortable atmosphere is a great change from chain shops too. I think the coolest part is you can come here to get a crazy style tailored for you, or a really solid more casual cut done right. Would definitely recommend.

I had my first appointment with Grace today and I have to say she is amazing! Best hair cut in a long, long time. Grace took the time to study my face size, shape and the way my hair grows in order to determine the best cut for me. She also took the time to show me several ways to style my new do and also how to use all of the products correctly. I decided about a year ago to return to my natural hair color and let the gray shine through. I loved the fact that Grace embraced my choice to not color my hair and did not suggest that coloring would be a better option. Needless to say, I will be back!

I found Grace on Unilocal and I won’t be going anywhere else from now on. This is by far the best haircut and haircut experience I have ever had. I’m absolutely in love with how she cut and styled my hair and she took so much time to explain what she was doing and show me how to replicate it at home. She cut my hair in a way that compliments its natural curl and gave volume where it usually just sits flat. She’s amazing and hilarious and knows her stuff. I was laughing the whole time. Highly, highly recommended.

I recently moved to Boulder from Texas and was faced with the task of finding a new hairstylist — I always dread this, because for some reason my haircuts never turn out well (it’s gotten to the point where I just let it grow long and shapeless for a year before venturing back out to try a new stylist).
Grace from Grace on Pearl did an AWESOME job — she made my fine, straight hair look like it actually had volume even when air-​dried, and listened to the requests I made while offering suggestions of her own and improving upon my ideas. This would have been enough to make me go back again and again, but what really put the service over the edge was her explanation of different ways to style my hair with curling iron, flat iron, round brush, etc. (and I have NO idea how to style it, usually). That was incredibly helpful! I highly recommend Grace for anyone wary of new stylists — she couldn’t have made the experience any better!

Have been going to Grace for hair cut and color this year. I can honestly say that I will never let anyone else touch my hair as long as Grace is around.
She is not your typically production line hair salon stylist. She actually cares about you! She analyzes your hair, face structure, body type and would meticulously cut your hair with precision and… grace! I always get tons of compliment for my hair every time I visit Grace.
You need to know that this is a single room salon, and the experience is Grace’s personal undivided attention. If you are early for your appointment, be nice and wait by the waiting area outside.
Ask questions, tell her what you are looking for, tell her your hair dilemma and problems, Grace will always help you with tips and lessons how to address them. I’ve learned so much from her and I get better at styling my hair every time I come back from Grace.
Grace has a quirky and fun personality. I don’t know where she gets her energy but boy, you won’t need the magazines when you sit in her salon chair. :-)

I’d been avoiding getting my hair cut for WAY TOO LONG because I fell out of touch with my hair stylist friend who always knew what I wanted. Every time I go somewhere and say that I just want to look cool and that I trust their judgement, I get weird looks and another boring hair cut that I wish I’d just done myself. So I decided to take the plunge and make an appointment with Grace, since I thought she looked edgy and cool enough to actually do something interesting with my hair, but still keep it pretty long since I’ve been trying to grow it out. She must have read my mind the second I walked in because we were on the same page immediately. How cool is that? Almost two hours later, I walked out with the perfect hair cut feeling like a totally new and awesome person. I have NEVER gotten so many compliments on a hair cut. Even now, a month later, people still tell me that they love it. Grace is a true artist (and scientist) and I loved the way that she explained everything she was doing, and pulled out pictures of ideas she had. I usually let my hair air dry, and it looks great, but when I’m going out and trying to look like a badass the cut totally goes there too. I can’t wait to go back and see what she does next.

Grace is AMAZING! It is extremely difficult to find a stylist who knows how to cut Asian hair well and understand that Asians don’t necessarily have to have straight hair. For the first time in my life, I have a gorgeous haircut that works with hair so that even if I’m in a rush to get out of the house or too lazy, my hair looks decent without needing to straighten or curl it.
I scheduled the Sputblow Concierge service, which was perfect for settling my nerves about getting my hair cut. The 2-​hour appointment went something like this: for the first 20 minutes, Grace gave me excellent tips on how to style my hair and get a feel for how my hair grows (the lesson itself is worth going!). She then dry-​cut my hair (already looks fabulous at this point), shampooed and deep conditioned/​glossed my hair, and after opening my eyes from the conditioning, she had a glass of ice water with lemon and mint waiting for me! What? This was pampering to the fullest! Grace then finalized the haircut with blow drying, styling, and extra cutting when needed. Then for the cherry on top, I received two, full-​sized styling products plus three sample products to try. Unlike at other salons, I had absolutely no tiny hairs falling all over or on me post haircut.
I felt like a model walking out of the salon. My hair still looks awesome 2.5 weeks later, and as long as we are both in the same state, I will never o to another hair stylist again!

Grace is really sweet and gave me a great haircut! It was really easy to make an appointment online. Her salon is in an office building, so it’s a little more difficult to find. I felt like I had her undivided attention for the entire appointment, and that felt like quite a luxury! It was such a great experience! I’ll be back!

Grace is pretty much the best hair stylist I have ever been to and also the funniest. I guess that counts for something when you’re stuck in a room with someone’s undivided attention for an hour, right?
The first visit is kind of like a hair class. She spends a good amount of time showing you various ways to style your hair, product recommendations, etc etc etc — but also goes into depth about how to care for your hair. I’ve not only loved the way my hair has looked after visiting, but taking care of my previously hard to manage long hair is now effortless. I’ve tried three other places in Boulder and I don’t think I’ll be bothering with anyone else.

Grace from Grace on Pearl gave me a super cute razored bob hair cut. She analyzed the shape of my face and took the time to texturize my straight, course hair. It’s super hard to find a hair stylist you like. I’ve been through many, many hair stylists and couldn’t find one that was comfortable with Asian hair.
On top of that, she’s super funny and hot. She has super cute rocker clothes and her style is really edgy. She loves Ed Hardy and biker clothes. She also loves high end products and can make you look like you stepped out of Vogue magazine.
