History

Established in 2010.

Front Range Ride Guides is a collective of professional guides whose roots in cycling run deep. As past racers, trail & frame builders, advocates, and professional wrenches, our lives have revolved around cycling. We have an infectious passion for riding and for turning people on to what we love.

In each guided bike adventure we aim to deliver, to each of our clients, the same feelings of exhilaration, freedom, fun, & excitement we experience and have them walk away with the same passion that we feel for riding.

Our professional guides bring with them a wealth of back country trail experience, local knowledge, and love for riding. We have decades of experience and great knowledge of the Front Range, Rocky Mountain Colorado, Southern Colorado, the Western Slope of Colorado, Eastern Utah, New Mexico, and several international locations.

Great bikes, trails, and guides. We had a crew of 11 and they showed up at our hotel with bikes and drove a few folks to the trail and we carpooled the rest of us. Then drove us back. They had bikes, helmets, waterbags, and all the tools need to fix anything that went wrong on the trail. It was great. We were on a tight schedule to get to flights but they made it all happen. Thanks guys.

Nick will take good care of you. He took me riding to some of the most breathtaking views I’ve ever seen, a solid workout and the sickest ride I’ve been on.
You can tell he cares about his business, his bikes and his customers. I highly recommend you check this tour out, whether you usually bike or not, you will have a good time.

I just got back from a four day vacation in Colorado with my dad (I am 27, he is 54). I booked our trip with Nick last minute (we were already in CO). I could tell just from talking to Nick over the phone that he was somebody who I wanted to work with. He was courteous and genuine — it was clear that his focus was to provide us with a great experience, not just sell us something.
The ride itself was awesome. When it comes to biking, I am a beginner and my dad a little more experienced than I am. We are from Chicago, so we don’t have any experience with real trail riding. That said, we are both in pretty good shape and are quick learners, so we were looking for a bit of a challenge once we were comfortable with the basics. Nick delivered on this perfectly. We started slow and he taught us all of the essentials. As we rode, he continued to offer options as to what we wanted to do next. This allowed us to customize our ride exactly to our liking. Nick also made it clear that this was OUR ride and we could stop to rest or take in the views (which were beautiful) as much as we liked.
I learned a lot on this ride and I know my dad did as well. This experience really rounded out a great vacation for us and it would not have been the same without. Nick is a professional and is passionate about what he does. If you are looking to try something new or have a little bit more fun on a bike, this is a must-​do. I fully plan to book another trip with Nick when I get a chance to head back out west.

So we used a guide service and I would rate it at 5 stars! Nick picked us up at our hotel on time! Then drove us 45 minutes out to Buffalo Creek. The trails were amazing, similar to the trails in Bend yet with different landscape views. Nick did a great job of coaching Indya, as well as providing an alternative route for me to get a bit of slick rock. Bikes were a bit dated, however they worked well. Indya was on a FS Moots (26), and I had an Enduro 26. Nick provided EVERYTHING, including trail maintenance for a busted chain on a stranded stranger! When staying in the Denver area I will definitely use Nick and his trail service again.

Nick put together a wonderful three day beginner tour of the Denver and Boulder area trails for me and a friend. He created a few customized itineraries, took care of the bikes and all the gear, and was a blast to spend time with every day. He is incredibly professional, organized, and wonderfully laid back. Can’t recommend Front Range highly enough.

This was the highlight of our trip to Colorado! Nick is a fantastic guide and a really great guy. He tailored our ride to our ability with the added bonus of some really great conversation! I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Colorado. You get to enjoy the beautiful weather and scenery while in the company of a knowledgeable and easy going guide.

Hands down this was the greatest thing we did on our vacation! Nick was phenomenal to work with. His initial communications were really prompt and professional and he went out of his way to make sure he planned the experience we wanted. Neither of us have ever mountain biked and while this was honestly one of the hardest things I have ever done, it was worth every bit of exertion it took. The views were amazing. Nick was so patient and encouraging and let us set the pace for our ride (my pace was about that of a turtle). Aside from all of that, he was just a genuinely good guy who was great to hang with. We will for sure ride again on our next visit! You won’t regret stepping out of your comfort zone and booking a ride!

FANTASTIC! That is the first word that comes to mind if I had to describe our recent mountain biking trip with Front Range Guides. Annually a group of us get together for a destination road biking trip. This year we decided to mix it up and take it to the mountains. After significant research we decided to use Front Range as our guides out in CO. Nick was detailed but very flexible and at the right price point. We asked him to map out what he would consider an EPIC trip. They came through in spades! Most of the group were experienced mountain bikers but 2 of us had no experience at all. Nick and team appreciated this challenge and managed to put together a trip to accommodated all levels. The more experienced guys went with a couple of his guides while one guide stayed back and monitored us 2 inexperienced riders and given us pointers along the way. We learned an incredible amount and grew more confident by the hour. I honestly cant say enough good things about our experience. The routes were breathtakingly beautiful. I think I speak for the entire group when I say I wholeheartedly recommend them. These guys know the very best trails in CO and will work with you to ensure you have a killer experience all the while being safe. On top of everything you can’t meet a better group of people than Nick and his team Evan, Ryan & Jordan)!

I had an absolutely wonderful time with Front Range Ride Guides, during my very first mountain biking experience. I did a half day ride and Nick, the guide even picked me up from my hotel in Fort Collins. Talk about first class service! He was very friendly on the drive to the trail head, which already helped ease any concerns I had about biking itself. Once we got to the trailhead, he spent time showing me the features of the bike, and going over important safety information. He had prepared a back pack full of granola bars, snacks, water and even a jacket in case I wasn’t prepared enough and got cold. He had the helmet and gloves ready to use, so all equipment is covered! The most important thing is that he helped me take the trail at my own pace, and always made me feel good about my progression. He rode behind me so that he could make sure I was safe and to coach me through what I felt were more difficult parts of the trail. He also took amazing pictures of my experience and will even take video if it is something you want. Nick was an excellent guide and coach, and I would highly recommend everyone to ride with him! Make sure to check out Front Range Ride Guides when you are in the Colorado area. I promise you will not be disappointed! Thanks Nick for making my work trip to Fort Collins seem less like work and a lot more like fun!

I live in Golden, and was showing a friend around, so we made a journey out to Ned to do some exploring.
We ran into Nick at the end of our ride yesterday and he was just finishing up a ride with a client… he was super helpful with ideas and suggestions for other area rides and also local town info. His client was also grinning ear-​ear so I’m pretty sure that also counts as a rave review.
I’d definitely give these guys a call if you’re looking for good local guide to show you around some of the best singletrack in NA. I’m sure our ride would have gone better with Nick, as we did lots and lots of roundabouts, up and downs… searching for the trail and trying to stay on singletrack over fireroads. Then maybe we would have been sporting the same grins as the other guy that just finished with Nick!
