Established in 2002.

We are a private, family owned company that specializes in residential work. By focusing on one market in a broad and diverse field, we are able to offer more solutions than a typical contractor. My name is Adam Trenholm. I’m a master electrician who has been living and working in Boulder County for over 20 years. I love meeting clients and helping them come up with initiative and creative solutions.

We excel at keeping our finger on the pulse of our ever changing electrical world. From wireless distributed audio, to trouble shooting why the lights are out, chances are we’ve done it.

Excellent work all around. I needed some some ceiling lamps installed and a fan removed. Adam set up an appointment quickly. Very experienced and pleasant electrician got the job done quickly. The $ 200 fee for the first hour struck me as high, but the work was done so efficiently that I have no complaints about that.

Things aren’t what they once were at CWS. The company has grown, and the care for the customer seems to have shrunk. I called with a fairly small job but a bit of a time crunch, got dragged along for a while by promises of a quote that finally came a couple days later than claimed and substantially more than other estimates. Due to the time lost waiting for the quote, I had little choice but to get part of the work done. It was completed just fine, but at a high price and with a bit of disingenuousness regarding what was actually done. I got the rest of the work done later by someone else for a third of what CWS was going to charge.

I had what I figured would be a fairly easy task — I needed to add a dedicated circuit for a treadmill in my basement. After calling around to a few electricians who were friends of friends, etc. and not really getting anywhere (due to my own scheduling conflicts as well as theres, so it wasn’t all their fault). A few that showed up to quote the job mentioned it might take 4 or 5 hours, that I’d have drywall damage that needed to be repaired, etc… none of which made sense to me since it was a fairly easy shot…
But anyway, I finally just called cws based on some Unilocal reviews, told them to just plan on coming out and doing the job, quote or not, I just needed to get it done. I had to reschedule it once because of a sudden work trip, but theyw orked with me no problem. Technician came out, had the work done in hour and a half, and it worked great, no fuss, no muss! In addition, no drywall damage and the work was left with what I’d dare say was a very professional look!
I thought the hourly rate was a bit high, but given it took significantly less time than others had quoted, this wasn’t such a big deal. :)

I had two small wiring jobs for outdoor light fixtures. Adam got ahold of me right away and arranged for someone to come out the next week. Kirk, the electrician who came out was able to do the work quickly and he even made a bracket when he realized the one that should have come with the fixture was missing.
Great guys – I’d hire them again for any other job I had!

Adam and his team installed new lighting in my garage. After leaving a message, Adam called me back within the hour and was at my home the next day. He had great recommendations and quoted a price that was slightly below my budget for this project. His electricians came when they said they would, installed everything perfectly, and cleaned up and hauled the old light fixtures away (an added bonus as I wasn’t expecting them to do this). Also, bonus points for him accepting Visa (via Square).
Adam conveys a sense of fairness and confidence in his craft and I would definitely call him again for future electrical projects.

It is not often that I am motivated to write about a business. But CWS was such a great find — thanks to Unilocal — that I cannot hold back. Adam, the owner, came over, sized up the electrical problems with the home I had recently bought, and fixed what he could. He also offered advice on long-​term safety issues related to aluminum wiring, and sent me a proposal and a price for future fixes. It all made sense. So I made a second appointment for a few days later, when another tech who was equally personable and efficient, came over and took care of everything. Add the two visits and I felt that I got great service and advice at a price that felt in line with the market.

Having just moved to Boulder, I wasn’t sure at all where to turn to find a trustworthy electrician. I read Adam’s reviews here on Unilocal and decided to give him a call and am so glad I did! Adam was incredibly friendly, personable, reasonably priced and most importantly, very knowledgeable and professional. He checked several areas of concern for me in a matter of minutes and got my long stagnant deck lights operating again! I am so pleased to have found Adam — my search for an electrician is over! Adam sent a colleague of his to my house to fix an issue I was having with the electrical supply to the furnace. I had previously had someone spend 2 hours in my crawl space and come up with «I don’t know, it looks fine». Adam’s colleague had diagnosed the problem in 5 minutes and had it fixed in another 25 minuets. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and explained everything to me. Adam was very nice on the phone and got someone to my house as soon as possible. I will be calling Adam for all future electrical needs!

Adam responded immediately to my request for a bid on re-​wiring a 220 outlet for our hot tub. The woman at his office was friendly and helpful. He came out within a few days and gave us a few options to choose from, and wrote the bid up within the day. Once we decided on the work, he and his team arrived early on the day scheduled. They were friendly, professional and quick! We appreciated the quality of the work, and have been able to soak in the tub, happily. We highly recommend CWS!

Adam was fantastic. Just a really nice, professional, great guy to work with. I was putting in 4 ceiling fans, got a quote from CWS and it was $ 400 less than the other 3 electricians I had look at it.
As far as the work, they did a fantastic job, even working around some areas in a fashion that didn’t even require dry wall repair.
Adam even came by for a free follow up visit to check out a clicking noise I was hearing on one of the fans.
I’m new to Boulder and had no idea to call for work like this, but I couldn’t be happier that I found these guys and received the quality work that they delivered.
