Description

Specialties

Engaging and dynamic psychotherapy for adolescents, adults, and couples.

Psychotherapy is a process that allows us to explore how our thoughts, feelings and actions interact and influence one another. Through my collaboration with you, I can help you gain insight, change your behaviors and help you feel better.

Each individual is unique and I appreciate the privilege to help clients resolve pain or solve problems that are keeping them from living life fully.

I am trained and licensed to work with a range of issues impacting mental health, including specialties in: LGBT issues, Men’s Health, Eating, Exercise & Body Image disorders, PTSD, and Grief and Loss.

My session fees range from $ 150-$ 175. I am considered an «out of network» provider for most insurance plans. Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. If you are worried that you cannot afford therapy, please ask about the possibility of a sliding scale fee.

History

Established in 2002.

I opened my private practice in 2002 in NYC and recently gave up the skyscrapers for the mountains, and relocated to Boulder, CO. In addition to my work in private practice, I volunteer as a consultant for HealthRight International and am part of the Disaster Mental Health Team for the Red Cross.

Dr. Brett K.

Business Owner

I am psychologist with over 15 years of experience working with adolescents, adults, and couples. I received my doctorate from the California School of Professional Psychology have had the privilege of working with a diverse clientele in San Francisco, New York, and now Boulder.

The therapeutic relationship is a dynamic collaboration. My approach to therapy is highly interactive and I would describe myself as an engaging, opinionated, and socially conscious therapist. I like to ask a lot of questions and challenge my clients to push themselves to reach their goals, solve problems, and understand themselves and connect in their relationships better.

While therapy can be difficult process, I bring levity and a sense of humor to the process. Laughter is healing and my clients appreciate this about working with me.
