BDA empowers creatives and entrepreneurs with community-​powered, in-​person classes & workshops that are focused on practical skills and taught by industry professionals.

Our studio facility off Arapahoe and Range — just outside downtown — also offers a range of coworking desks and private offices for rent. This colab-​community is productive and highly appropriate for freelancers and small businesses needing their own space.

So, whether you work in film, technology, design, photography, or run a business, we seek to empower your creative process with education, community and place to get things done.

History

Established in 2004.

In 2004, award-​winning filmmaker Bruce Borowsky and web developer Zach Daudert looked around them and saw wasted opportunities. New software and technology was transforming and advancing the way people created, edited and produced new films, yet no traditional school in Colorado offered classes by instructors who were fluent in the new media. Borowsky and Daudert, on the other hand, knew plenty of colleagues who used the technology and just needed to find the right space.

Today, BDA holds over 300 events a year in its 6,000 square foot

facility in Boulder, CO. They offer creatives and entrepreneurs a wide variety of community-​powered, in-​person classes & workshops that are focused on practical skills and taught by industry professionals in video, web design, social media, photography, business and marketing, web programming, and more. Additionally, BDA hosts many free social and networking events and hosts a dozen, affordable private-​offices and an open, shared coworking space.

Took the Wordpress SEO class and learned a lot! The teacher used our websites as examples and made sure we were all following a long. She gave us valuable resources to use once the class was over. Lot’s of work to be done after the class but I feel confident in what I am doing.

I just attended my first class — email marketing for beginners with Bethany from UniqueThink — and it was great!
I can say with certainty that Bethany’s teaching and the wealth of take-​home materials she provided will improve my email marketing skills.
As for the BDA facility itself, the only issue I had was finding it! Once I did, parking was ample and the building is organized, clean and quiet. They even go out of their way to provide coffee, water and snacks for class attendees. BDA seems pretty well organized across their online presence and are very communicative about upcoming events. Above all, I find most of their offerings extremely affordable — especially for being located in Boulder, CO.
I would highly recommend Bethany as well as BDA and can’t wait to attend another class.

Stephen Collector’s 3 hour session on portrait photography is an absolute must for anyone in the Denver/​Boulder area that wants to get into or improve their portrait photography skills. This class has great insights into getting the best shot not the best camera settings. Very helpful1

I have been a researcher, author and leader in the adult education business for over 30 years. Boulder Digital Arts is one of the finest examples of pragmatic, easy to access and best value adult education I have ever seen.
The offerings are diverse and detailed. The instructors are experienced and credible. The website is informative and easy to navigate. The registration procedures are easy to use. And, the staff is friendly and competent.
For anyone interested in any of the digital arts, this is the place to go for practical training. It is also a great place to increase your business ownership and entrepreneurial skills.

Great location, great staff, great amenities. I’ve been with BDA for nearly a year now and have not been disappointed. There good food (indian, taqueria, sub shop) and good coffee across the street, and Avery is only a few blocks away! BDA is within earshot of a couple multi-​use paths, which is convenient for bikers. I work remotely, and BDA was a perfect place to have video conferences and a professional (and quiet) office environment.

I am currently sitting in my third BDA class on Social Media Marketing, so I thought I’d send them a little social media love.
I’ve had two good classes, and one that was a bit irrelevant. The key to success with this company is to find a good instructor and frequent his classes.
The best instructor I have found so far is Brett Borders. He is a SEO and Social Marketing guy who offers great web 2.0 insight. Check him out at

Overall, if you want to obtain a solid foundation in any web 2.0 or tech oriented field, BDA can point you in the right direction.
The prices are a bit high, but if you consider the knowledge you are obtaining, it is reasonable.

I have been dying to start my own podcast. Not that anyone would want to download my rambling show and listen to me, but I would. Lol, and I hear it is not good to laugh at your own jokes. Anyway, I started
getting into the Boulder Digital Arts organization as a way for me to
explore this creative outlet and boy, was I impressed! BDA offers tons
of courses and creative outlets for everything digital and interactive.
Courses start as basic as «Getting stated with Dreamweaver» to «Photoshop For Photographers Introductory Hands-​On Intensive,» and even classes for the wee-​ones, «Flash for Kids!» The best part of going to these courses is that they are not only a fast and effective way to learn a new technology, but a great way to meet people with similar interests, network with industry professionals, and potentially meet someone VERY special… Who just lights up your key board!
BDA’s main focus is to be a central resource for people in and
interested in interactive technology… I have met more than a couple of
people who have found gigs here, new-​hires, and yes, even dates.
* Flash-​dancing star one is for creating a creative organization
outlet for digital interactive nerds like myself
** DreamWeaven’ star two is for offering a membership, which will then
get you discounts on the trainings and make you feel special
*** PhotoShopin’ star three is for their showcases, which allow people
the opportunity to present their work to other digital interactive
nerds and get unbiased advice and direction. This is also a perfect
place to network, flirt, or meet people who can help you with your
project… Or you can just get criticized and feel horrible, and dump
your life-​long reel of work in the trash can on the way out… But I am
sure BDA wouldn’t like that.
**** Star four is for an up-​to-​date and informative website
Star five was Final-​Cut because the courses can be extremely expensive and the class I signed up for changed dates, so I had to get my money back and pick a different course.
