Wondering what one of the top things to do in Boulder is? Boulder Brew Tours offers both a walking and a driving tour to sample some of Boulder’s famous microbrews. Both tours start at a local brewery on Pearl St., Boulder’s #1 tourist attraction where tours get a behind-​the-​scenes look at how beer is brewed. Learn about a few of Boulder’s main historical landmarks, just steps away from the brewery. Continuing on to more breweries, groups will sample a wide variety of microbrews and end with a pint of your choice. Fun to be had for all (over 21).

History

Established in 2012.

Boulder Brew Tours was established because of the wonderful beers we have in Boulder, Colorado, or the state of Colorado for that matter. Boulder Brew Tours wanted to make a safe way for everyone to check out many different breweries. We hope you join us today, there is little more information below about Boulder Brew Tours.

Both a walking and a driving tour are available every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We are also happy to customize brew tours if a party would like to see breweries in other cities such as Fort Collins and Lyons. Additionally, we offer tours beyond breweries to cater to all. From a day long site-​seeing tour of surrounding areas with an emphasis on nature to a day tour focused on history to weekend ski trips to week-​long ski and adventure trips, we work with budget to posh expeditions. If one of our tours leaves anything to be desired, please contact us and we are happy to design a personalized tour with you.

My name is Lee Olliffe and I am the owner of Boulder Brew Tours and Colorado Adventure Trips. An avid world traveler, I find Colorado ranks at the top of my list. Growing up in the mountains of Colorado, I developed a deep respect for this amazing state, it’s inspiring scenery and wildlife, plentiful opportunities to experience nature and adventure, and its warm hearted, engaging, friendly people. Boulder is one of the best places in the world to taste craft beers. By founding Boulder Brew Tours and Colorado Adventure Trips I want to share some amazing experiences with you. This group is the best! Lee and Susan were extremely helpful setting this up. I gave them vague requests for a brewery tour and a distillery tour and they took care of everything. Ken was our guide/​driver and made our day great. We took the van for a 6 hour birthday trip and everything was perfect. Would use this group again any day!

Awesome, chill Brewery Tour! Our tour guide was Sean, and he was awesome! We did the walking tour and went to 3 different breweries near the Pearl Street Mall. We got to taste multiple beers at each brewery for a total of about 8 – 10 (can’t exactly remember… that shows you I had a great time!). Sean was very knowledgable about the brewing process and our tour ended up being longer (about 3 hours, not the standard 2) since we had such great conversation. I would highly recommend this tour to families and friend groups looking for a nice afternoon activity in Boulder.

Boulder Brew Tours was our shuttle service to shows all summer long. Lee and his crew were our ride to the show for the Widespread Panic run and Phish run over the summer and he and his team were great. The price was right, the drivers were professional and fun and they were always on time. Boulder Brew Tours/​The Boulder Lift was a great option for show shuttles all summer long. Thanks Lee!!!

We scheduled a private beer tour with Lee of Bootstrap and Powder Keg breweries in Niwot and Vindication and Finkel & Garf breweries in Gunbarrel. There were six people on our tour and the van was driven by Aaron who picked each couple up at their house. We had a great time seeing the four very different spaces and trying all of the beer. Aaron was a very accommodating and a good person to join us on our tour even though he didn’t taste (of course) and felt like the seventh friend to complete our group. It was an enjoyable way to spend a cold winter Sunday afternoon and highly recommended.

I used Boulder Brew Tours for a private tour for a birthday party. It was very easy to book and pay online and Lee was extremely responsive to my emails. Our driver was also very nice, safe, and well informed. We went a little over the time limit and he didn’t rush us at all. Definitely planning on doing it again when we have visitors in the future.

I purchased this tour for two of my friends and then joined them at the end. The tour is pretty laidback. It starts at Shine, which reportedly had the best beer of all three, and then continued on to West Flanders and then Walnut Brewery. Each of them has a slightly different atmosphere. The tour guide, Alex, was very friendly. If you are looking to enjoy sampling beer and hang out, this is the right tour for you. On the other hand, if you are interested in learning a lot about the process of brewing and all the intricate details, then you may not get a lot out of this tour yet.

Great Day, Great Beer, Great Guide! The weather was gorgeous, the beer was delicious, and our guide (our new friend Lee) was awesome. Lee is very knowledgeable and was always making sure we were having a great time. I liked that we were a small group because it was easier to talk to people and make new friends. We never waited for beer and Lee made sure we gave some input into what we wanted to try and always accommodated special requests. I would definitely recommend this tour and will for sure be coming back if I ever find myself in Denver again. Also, as a bonus, its always nice to support small/​local business and by doing this tour you are supporting Lee and all the great brewers that we got to meet. Its a win-​win-​win!!!

What a great time! Great unique places and of course excellent beers. My fav was the Belgian Strong Ale at Shine. This is a Must-​Do activity with a group of friends for any occasion, or just for fun!
