Gyrotonic may sound a little foreign to some, but it is one of the newest and fastest growing mind-​body fitness techniques in the country. Combining movement relating to swimming, tai chi, dance, and yoga, Gyrotonic is a fantastic way for people of any age and fitness level to get moving in a way that is gentle but effective (and no, it’s NOT Pilates.)
I actually took Gyrotonic for the first time at bodySpan Studio in Boulder. Deb is a long-​time friend and fellow dancer and when she said she’d found a movement methodology she loved as much as dancing, I knew I had to try it. Don’t let the fancy name fool you, Gyrotonic can really be for anyone and with Deb’s clear and patient instruction, she’ll have you moving and feeling great in no time. Strong muscles, flexibility, healthy joints… what more do you need?
bodySpan is a fairly young studio but had already generated quite the following as well as partnerships with Boulder Ballet, Helander Dance Theater and CU Boulder. With an ever growing (and filling-​up) schedule… you better call soon to get in… not to mention, her introductory rates are really a steal!
