A Fitting Place by Art Cleaners a premier alterations shop for men and women. Formal dresses, party wear, slacks and suits are both repaired or altered. Bring your secondhand clothing or your designer outfits. It doesn’t matter to us. If we can’t do your work we will find someone who will.

We can also repair leather goods, outerwear and backpacks. No repairs are too small or unusual.

We are located downtown in a very convenient location on the NW corner of Grill Mansion. You can park on the street or in our lot on the South Side of Mapleton. We are in the garden level.

Business Owner

I grew up with a mother that made custom draperies in our basement. I opened A Formal Affair in 1884, along with A Fitting Place Alterations within its walls. The opportunity to grow the business and provide more space for my seamstresses became apparent. We expanded beyond the wedding business. Keeping it «All in the Family», the shop is now managed by my sister, Jay. You will enjoy working with her. She has continued with my mom’s expertise and I just give her a hand with the marketing and bookkeeping.
