Love this place! Everyone is really nice and they didn’t flinch when our golf game was, er, less than pro. The Marshall «watered» U.S. regularly — for free — and the bartender handled a disgruntled customer with good humor and professionalism. Would recommend this place to anyone!

We will start with the positives. It is an attractive course winding through the trees, the staff are pleasant and it offers coupons and discounts that can make the price low. The bar/​restaurant was better than a lot of clubs I go to (better than Pruneridge, Sunken Gardens) and somewhat better than Deep Cliff.
However, it is very difficult to get to from San Jose — almost an hour on a very winding road. There is no driving range or practice net and I need one of these to warm up. The practice green is minimal but I think they let you chip onto it. The fairways are narrow so a lot of balls get into the trees.
I will not go here again but a lot of people seem to like it so you have to try it to be sure.

Boulder Creek is a nice course in a very scenic location surrounded by towering redwood trees. It has a par 65, 18-​hole layout and is fun for either 9 or 18 holes. It’s not the hardest course in the world but is well-​tended, competitively priced and fun.
The course pacing was ideal the day we were there: while there were certainly other golfers on the course, we didn’t have to wait for anyone not was anyone breathing down our necks.
They have great discounts available online through their website. We paid $ 25 for 9 holes, with a golf cart, on a weekday afternoon. It’s a bit more expensive on the weekend or if you don’t reserve a tee time in advance online.
During our round, a friendly course marshal stopped by a couple of times and offered us fresh, cool drinking water. That was much appreciated on a warm August afternoon!
The only real negative is the drive to get there, which is a long, winding route along Highways 9 and 236. However, parts of the drive are pretty scenic, too, and you pass through a couple of small towns, so if you aren’t in a big hurry, you could stop for lunch or dinner along the way and make an outing of it.

A great course with lots of par 3’s.
Leave your driver in your car.
Bring your most accurate irons for you will need it.
Greens are very good condition.
The fairways are descent considering that the course is surrounded with big redwood trees.
Pro shop guy is very nice.
Think twice about the yardage they tell you on scorecard and actual distance of tee placement.
I recommend this course.

If you’re into semi pro courses, this is not! Even for a novice like myself it is not terribly challenging, though it has it’s challenges, lots of trees and high grass, narrow fairways. No think it is a great, well maintained course that is fun to play & down right gorgeous!
The staff is super friendly and accommodating.
The food at the clubhouse is also very good, and the price is defiantly right!

What a great experience. Beautiful setting and a fun and challenging course. Not for long hitters. You have to be accurate. Staff is very nice and the breakfast burrito is a must. Pay attention to the score card to stay out of trouble. Great day all around.

I recently had the opportunity to play this course. I have to say that this is the most beautiful course I have played. My home course in SoCal is built on a landfill in an old rock quarry. No comparison! The majestic redwoods along every fairway are fantastic. Perhaps the perfect weather also influenced my observations.
Every aspect of the course is well maintained, T-​boxes, fairways and greens
have been given good care. It isn’t perfect but well done. The carts were in good shape. I really wish more courses would add GPS to their carts, this one does NOT have it.
The cost for the weekend T-​time was a reasonable $ 45. Even the hot dogs & beer were not exorbitant. The staff in the clubhouse was very friendly. Our threesome never had to wait at any point and we never had anyone behind us.
Would love to play here again.

This review is for villa rentals only. and where to start.
My best friend and I stayed here for a wedding late April. The wedding was beautiful, the villa experience was utterly disastrous. At the risk of sounding hateful, the people running this place (while perfectly nice) are definitively unprofessional. I called the place late February to book a room, and this process alone was daunting. Throughout our stunted conversation, I had to prompt the villa «director» for basic information such as cost estimates, how many beds were in a room, etc. It was seriously like pulling teeth. I requested a confirmation email to reserve our place, and she simply said,“they don’t do that.” I expressed my concern about this, and she did nothing to address it. but it gets worse.
I informed the hotel director that we would be arriving after hours (11:30 — 1 a.m.). She replied that there wouldn’t be anyone there to check us in, so she would leave an envelope with my name and some information in their drop box. This was a lie.
When we arrived just after midnight, the only thing left for us was a cryptically numbered key in an unmarked box. no envelope. no map. nothing. It didnt’t help that the signage was INCONSISTENT, MISLEADING, AND PRACTICALLY NONEXISTENT. My friend and I searched for our villa for well over 2 hours in the dark. There was no emergency number for which to call. We resorted to sticking the ambiguously numbered key in random people’s doors to no avail. We ended up camping out in our tiny car rental huddled under our jackets (it was under 30 degrees outside). It doesn’t even stop there.
When the maintenance staff finally arrived the next morning, they found our key’s partner in an 80s looking one bedroom apartment appropriately decked out with a «stray cats» montage and broken toilet. Upon speaking with the hotel staff, they informed us that we had mistakenly been left with someone else’s key. Our friends ended up staying in the room we were supposed to have; and it was INFINITELY nicer than our amber tinged room. Unlike us, they booked only a week in advance, as opposed to our months long notice. I’m bitter.
The rest of the stay was just fine. We were too weary to request a move, especially since they didn’t offer one. When we checked out, that wonderfully professional hotel director did little to acknowledge their shortcomings. She did us a «solid» and didn’t charge us for that night spent homeless in their parking lot. And that was it.
TL;DR: Options in Boulder Creek are limited, but do try to avoid this place. The borderline incompetent staff left us literally out in the cold to fend for ourselves. The stay itself was mediocre at best. (think: antiquated timeshare.)

Picked up a deal from
to come up here deep into the Santa Cruz Mountains. Set up a tee time for 11am on a Saturday. In my head, I was thinking that it was gonna be pretty crowded, especially with how gorgeous the weather was and the fact it was a Saturday. But, I was completely wrong!
The guy, in the pro shop, was real friendly and helped us out on getting acquainted with this new course. He told us we could tee of early because there wasn’t anyone behind or really in front of us. So, we warmed up and ended up teeing off about 20 min before our scheduled tee time.
Their fairways were in really nice shape. As well as the greens. Very nice all around course. The views were awesome. Gorgeous creeks running through various holes throughout the course. Saw the marshall a couple of times as he waved at us when he passed. Made us feel comfortable with our experience at the course.
In the end, I would definitely play here again. Great looking executive course with some challenging holes. It was a lot of fun and would recommend any golf lover to give it a try!

DON’T EVEN DESERVE THE ONE STAR I GAVE THEM. JUST PUT IT THERE SO I COULD PUBLISH THIS.
We called made a tee time. Lady at counter said we could eat and play so we drove 1 hour to get there. Turns out it rained a month ago and still can’t drive on course AND they no longer serve lunch daily LIKE THEIR SIGN OUTSIDE SAYS. Said they wouldn’t get the kitchen ready for another 3 hours. All they were offering was a cold sandwich or a hot dog so no fuck that. Worst experience I’ve ever had at a golf course. Time to go home and take my money to Deep Cliff.

My brother and I went here on Super Bowl Sunday and let me say, fantastic choice. We were able to golf for for an amazing price and there was absolutely no one in front of us on the course. We were able to stroll through the course and have an excellent time.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. The course was well taken care of and it was challenging for the beginner that I am. This course is a great place to go if you are a beginner who is looking to challenge themselves a little more than the 9 hole courses.

I stayed here for a nearby class. I don’t play golf so I can’t speak to the greens. But the villas are very nice and the restaurant is acceptable. Unfortunately, the villas are a little pricy for my tastes. I probably wouldn’t come here if it weren’t for the class and I’ll be headed into town for meals whenever I have the time.

This course was really wet when I played here last week. The balls were buried half way in the greens on some holes. The fairways were fairly wet too. It is beautiful with the tall trees that sounded like wood instruments as we often hit them with our drives. I created huge divots with my 60 as the ground was so wet. I am told to blame everything but me for poor hits so I am blaming the wet ground on this. The staff is really nice and this is a nice course in the forest trees.

Course conditions are dictated a lot by the weather, duh? It is in the Santa Cruz Mountains after all. But, the course is challenging. You will really be able to identify your short game problems. The nice thing is. you can use your driver on several of the long pars. But, accuracy should be your mantra for the day… the course is not too forgiving if you are wild off the tee. The cart paths are in need of repair, if you are able, it is best to walk this course… but, they have plenty of carts and if the weather is good you can go off the paths on all but par 3’s.
By the way, this is the best place anywhere for Sunday Brunch !!! Check their hours for other food offerings, they change often. The kitchen is good and the prices are very good as well. The staff is friendly, sometimes distracted by their own lives… this is a small town atmosphere.
We love it here and it is only 40 min from the south peninsula if you take Bear Creek Road… come out and play, eat and have fun. Check online discounts for golf… their lunch/​cart/​golf deal is great.

Mother’s day Bunch at Boulder Creek Golf & Country Club, Main Clubhouse rest. was wonderful the linen were done so wonderful, coffee was great and the selection were set for a mothers delight! Egg Bd. breads of choice, wheat, English muffin, sour dough and so much! AND not to mention Mothers got to of course golf FREE! I am sure taking my husband there again for Father’s Day BRUNCH too. I have played here numerous times. It is a short, narrow, challenging course.
If you have never played here, bring plenty of golf balls. If you hit the ball straight, no problem. If not, just enjoy the big trees and scenery.

This is a very cool executive-​style golf course tucked into a high valley in the Santa Cruz mountains, about an hour’s drive from the Silicon Valley, and thirty minutes from Santa Cruz. The course itself is a combination of two nine-​hole courses that were created at different times, hence the first nine holes tend to be somewhat narrow with some par 3’s, while the back nine is more spacious and features some higher par holes. All of the fairways are separated by stands of majestic redwoods… really quite beautiful and unique.
No, this is not Pebble Beach, (where the green fees are currently $ 495). It’s tough to find a decent golf course anywhere in the Bay Area with fees less than $ 100. However, at the Boulder Creek course, the top fee on weekends is only $ 39 for a round (as of this writing), which I think is a great value these days.
The combination of climate and terrain makes this a challenging course to maintain, so don’t be surprised to find some soggy spots during the rainy winter months. However, conditions during the spring, summer, and fall are usually quite nice. Some areas take a hit because of excessive shade, but overall the fairways and greens are kept in very good condition.
Nice restaurant and bar, with a varied menu and friendly staff. You can enjoy lunch at the clubhouse after your first nine… and head out again after your meal to complete your round. The staff will slot you in on request. Highly recommended.

I used to love this place. My family used to rent a condo here once a year and we’d have a weekend of golf and swimming. This was the 80’s — and I swear, not a dollar has gone back into the course, clubhouse or surrounding condos. It has been run down almost to the point of no return. There are a few fun longer holes, but mostly par threes. Not worth the pain in the butt to get there in my opinion. Sorry old friend…
