Worthington Licensing

I’ve been using Worthington for almost 10 years and each visit has been easy. Granted, I usually have all of the documents required for the transaction :) Today was a busy, rainy Saturday and parking was difficult. The line was long, but went pretty fast. I was greeted (by the newer-​younger clerk) at the window with an apology for the wait and a smile. I was done with my title transfer business in minutes. I’ll be back for all of my related business.

These people are great. The bad reviews of this place make no sense to me. Each time I go in there the whole group is friendly, I have never been hassled, and if I am missing documents, they help you out the best they can and give you every possible option.

This is continually the best licensing office experience I’ve had. The wait times are short, the people are pleasant and they always seem to have your best interest in mind. I’m always recommended Worthington to friends as a sort of hidden gem.

Friendly folks. They handle my weird licensing issues when they come up. These guys handle issues with ease that I attempt to fix with DOL after hours on the phone.

I have gone to this location my entire life and have never had an issue. Yes, it is a shared parking lot but there has always been parking. It’s breeze to get my tabs and I’m in and out in just a matter of minutes. All of the ladies there seem very happy and it has that small town family feel where you feel valued. Will be back next year as usual. :)

I’ve been renewing my tabs for multiple vehicles here for years. I’ve always had a nice experience. I’m not sure why so many people are leaving negative reviews; perhaps they are going into the business with a bad attitude to begin with?
Only once out of the 20 or so times that I’ve renewed my tabs there did I need to wait in line for help and even then it was only a minute or two. Usually you can just walk in, get help and be out in three minutes or so for a standard tab renewal.
I’ve also had a title transfer done at Worthington and it was quite complicated due to our circumstances. I was selling my grandmothers car, which was not in my name and she was unable to be there, yet my uncle had Power of Attorney. The person at Worthington gave us useful/​detailed information as to what we needed to do to get the transaction completed. Once we obtained the proper documents, the person at Worthington notarized our documents and had the title transfer completed within five minutes.
The shared parking lot is not very big, but I’ve never ran into an instance where there was no parking available.

I visited this place 5 times to transfer vehicle titles. I go in so polite each time, though each clerk kept a grim face. Each time they told me I needed something else. I would ask each time before leaving if there was ANYTHING else I needed and was told no. On my 6^th visit I was told there was STILL something lacking! I decided these miserable women just didn’t want to help me, and went somewhere else. People who hate their jobs just can’t find it within themselves to do it well, or at the very least, decently.

I really try and avoid this licensing spot, it’s worth 5 miles to drive to canyon park.
I have had many negative experiences here. Always thinking the bad day of one customer service agent doesn’t mean the business is bad, I gave this spot too many chances.
Today, I ordered my tabs online for a pick up. Since I wouldn’t have to do any transactions, I selected Worthington. Again, I paid and it should have been a 1 minute pickup. It was fast and easy, but not before the woman made sure to scold me and school me about how I was 5 days expired. Rude.
Seriously. Avoid this place, unless you like crabby unhappy people trying to bring you down.

Avoid this place like the plague. I only came here because the out-​of-​state dealer where I bought my car sent the paperwork here.
First, there’s no parking. Second, they are incompetent in every possibly imaginable way.
The dealer did not send enough money. The dealer called them and got the correct amount. The «correct» amount was still over $ 100 less than what they charged me once I got there because they forgot to include the registration fees (which the dealer had agreed to pay).
When I called, they said the dealer had sent a check. I ask if they took debit cards for the difference. They said yes. When I arrived, they would not take anything except a check or cash because the dealer had paid with a check. And «the payment forms have to be the same.»
Then they told me that their on site ATM would not dispense that much cash. But they had no idea where else to go. Funny, because there are at least two banks and a credit union within a block and a half of this place.
My worst licensing experience in 18 years in Washington state. Just an all-​around bad joke of a business. If I could give negative stars, I would.

I have been a Bothell resident for three years and every time I try to get my tabs renewed at this establishment I get nothing but passive-​aggressive vitriol from the hags behind the counter. As another poster mentioned, they’re reading the paper, they don’t want to help you, and if you ask a simple yes or no question they give you a load of garbage about how you should do things their way… without answering the question. I notice there’s a licensing place in Canyon Park and I will happily drive the extra distance and take them my business. Seriously, this is the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered, and I don’t know how those ladies keep their jobs. I feel sorry for their families… imagine having to live with someone so full of contempt!

HORRIBLE Customer Service. The women that work at the front desk are horrible. I have used this location a few times and keep hoping that it will get better, but obviously not. Especially Mary Lou Carlo-​Thomas. This last time I went in, she was reading the newspaper. Did not even look up to acknowledge me. Then when I said, «hello», first — she looked at me, turned back to her newspaper, finished reading a couple of lines, and then folded the paper back, and THEN asked me to come over to her station. No regard for human kindness or decency. It is unfortunate that their superiors do not give them some sort of incentive to treat all people with kindness and dignity.
I haven’t been there yet, but will seriously think of going to Canyon Park next time instead. Hope it’s better at least!

AVOID this place!!! I tried to do a title transfer, and after four trips I still don’t have my title transfered. The staff is incredibly inconsiderate, unhelpful and appear to enjoy creating stress and ordeals for their customers. Each time I came in they gave me misinformation or withheld important information in getting my car accurately estimated. I will never waste my time here again.

Did not have a good experience when trying to do a title transfer. The staff was not helpful at all and tried to charge me more tax than was actually due. I ended up going to the licensing in Shoreline and they were very knowledgable and able to get it done. These guys are very old school and don’t have access to internet or email to verify values. They tried to send me to the library to look up my own value because their computer system didn’t have a $ value for my 2003 BMW. I will drive miles out of my way to avoid having anything to do with this place in the future.

Licensing time again — this place is still number 1! I came in and there were 2 people at the counter and 2 in front of me. Fortunately they were prompt transactions and I was in and out in a flash.
