The Sports Grind Espresso

Not too shabby of a place, one of few on this side of the hill, and the only one at the top of Finn Hill on this side.
But, sadly, their slightly higher than my routine average prices and one too many inconsistency made drinks and they slipped down to «rarely, if ever» on the rounds for me.
their one saving grace actually is there location. because they are the only one I can walk to without tackling a huge hill or traversing more than a mile.
which, if it happens to be some form of Snowpocalypse or Snowmageddon, and you haven’t left the house in a couple days, and you run out of coffee, milk *and* alcoholl, and you trek out to the QFC with kids in tow, let me tell you… the lack of big steep hill is a big steep plus!
Service is always friendly, but i’m just coffee bitchy enough that the risk of an inconsistent drink at a higher price effects my frequency to return negatively.

Conveniently located adjacent to a gas station, should you happen to be crossing Finn Hill on your way to work (or anywhere else, for that matter). It seems like this location used to be Tollbooth Espresso, but I could be misremembering that. That spot was literally an old toll booth from back when the 520 bridge had a toll in its early days – which you might think would be an interesting conversation starter now that it has a toll again. But it might push away more business than it draws.
Anyway, these guys do a good job. The coffee’s fresh and hot, the service is fast and friendly, the flavor is good, the conversation is pleasant. The prices are a wee bit high but not exorbitant – they’re within the bounds of fairness. I’d easily stop here again, though I am usually not in this neighborhood during moments of caffeination.

Emily makes the BEST sugarfree non-​fat white chocolate mocha ever! And she always gives my dog Maxx a treat. They are fast, friendly and they make a great latte!
