History
Established in 1992.
Back in the early 90’s, Northern Espresso, was one of the first espresso stands in Bothell. The name «Northern Espresso» was a take off of the popular show, «Northern Exposure», which took place in Roslyn, WA. At that time, Northern Espresso was a mobile cart, located under a canopy. There were some rough mornings, rolling the cart out from the gas station to it’s corner spot over ice and slush. It would take a good 30 minutes to get the equipment ready for brewing, not to mention warming up the temporary canopy with a propane heater! We graduated to a building in 1995, which in todays standards is small, but it suits us just fine. We have continued support from our loyal customers and continue to grow with the ever changing Bothell. We look forward to years to come in Bothell! Thank you for your support!
Meet the Business Owner
Angie M.
Business Owner
I grew up with a loving and supportive family. While attending college at Washington State University, I would come back during breaks and work at our family business, which was a gas station and espresso cart. My dad, who was the owner of the gas station, slowly showed my brother and I the ropes with running a small business successfully. After college my brother and I bought into the businesses, he went the gas station route, while I bought into the espresso business. It’s been 15 years since I personally have owned Northern Espresso. During that time I met my husband at the stand. He was a loyal customer for 5 years and would stop in on his way to teach at a local school near by. We have one wonderful 5 year old boy together now and I have a sweet 16 year old Step Daughter.
I love Washington, grew up with all kinds of outdoor recreation. There is nothing like being able to kayak in the Puget Sound one weekend and head to the mountains the next. Always ready to explore!
