My Computer Guy

Came to this guy, very very nice person, it was very easy fix so he didn’t charge me. But I felt like he could fix everything. If you have a problem with your pc bring it to him, he’ll take care of it.

Excellent service. My external hard drive failed as the power pins were broken. I read the reviews and decided to see him. He is in Bothell and works out of his home. He tried to get the hard drive connected and when he could not, recommended me to just open the casing and use SATA cables to connect it to my desktop. He did not charge me a dime. I love the integrity. Most tech places will charge upwards of $ 100 to just touch and examine the device. Kudos to you, am really hoping your tip pays off and I can recover my data.

Following my disappointment on two previous occasions by the shoddy work of a «reputable» electronics company, I was overjoyed by the highly efficient service performed on my computer by Mike Naramor– and at such a reasonable cost. From now on, he will always be my computer guy.

As much as I would like to keep the computer guy my well-​kept little secret, that really wouldn’t be fair after he helped me so much yesterday.
After trying to fix my laptop wireless adapter issues myself for three days, I finally cried «uncle», looked on Unilocal and found this local shop about 10 minutes from my house. The computer guy works out of his home, has a very relaxed environment, and was able to see me and fix my laptop problem the same day. Since I am interested in learning about computer issues, the computer guy allowed me to sit next to him and he explained what he was doing. Surprisingly, I actually had a great time watching and learning and talking to him. Other computer shops I have been to in the past are much more like factory-​like and impersonal.
The computer guy was able to determine that my wireless adapter card was on the fritz, and instead of doing an expensive replacement and hours of labor, advised me to pick up a wifi USB adapter at an office supply store for about $ 35 instead. While I was getting this piece, he and did some other cleanup and maintenance work that had been plaguing me for the last year.
The whole thing cost me $ 99 for his time and labor, which I found well worth it since I was able to have the problem resolved and be back and running by that afternoon. He’s honest, flexible, and super nice. I would definitely recommend that you give him a try before going to one of the big box stores or other computer repair shops in the area.

I’m a klutz. With everything. All the time. I am not even surprised when I find a random bruise on myself bc I walk into things so often. I digress.
I was unpacking books onto a bookshelf and had my computer on the bottom shelf playing music (did I mention I’m also not the brightest bulb?). One of the shelves fell and dropped twenty or so books onto my computer and it stopped working shortly thereafter (surprise, surprise).
I found this place on Unilocal and bc of the rave reviews, drove to Kirkland to get my computer looked at. The shop is truly based out of his house. His wife and the cat greeted me and advised me to fill out a basic form and that he would be right back. Once he entered, I explained the situation and he said he would look at it and give me a call. Later that day, he called and said I had completely crushed my hard drive and gave me the information for a company that may be able to extract the info from it. As most of you know, once your hard drive is done, the computer is pretty much garbage. Blah.
So it wasn’t the happy ending I wanted, but the couple was so nice and professional and helpful. And he didn’t charge me for having taken apart my computer! Next time I need work done, I will gladly drive on up for him to look at it again.

Horrible Horrible place! I went in recently during a business trip to the area to get my HP lap-​top «tuned» The building was disgusting and dirty inside and out! I walked to the counter, trying not to touch anything, and found a man with no teeth staring at me. He then proceeds to say «what do you want?» I told him, and without a pause he said «it will be 2 – 3 weeks if I can get to it at all.» On that note I realized that this place should not be in business if their service is so HORRIBLE!!! I turned around and walked out in shock. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!!!

Awesome job. I took my computer in to Mike when I though the hard drive had gone out. It turns out it was much worse than that and the computer was not repairable. I did not want to buy a new computer because I really wanted one with Windows 7. Mike sold me a Windows 7 PC for a very reasonable price. He even made some custom modifications to it for me. Between the time I called Mike and the time I was back up and running was less than 24 hours. I would recommend My Computer Guy to anyone.

My email (Outlook) stopped working — PANIC. I found Mike online. He was located close to my house so I called him and set up appointment to go take my laptop in. He works out of his (so do I) and that was comforting to me. Anyway, he opened my laptop and attempted to open Outlook and said something like, «This is not a good sign.» — so much for reassurance. He asked me if i could leave my laptop and I told him I could. He told me he would see what he could do and call me. A couple hours later he calls and tells me it’s «all fixed». Well, its been several months now, and I can say (unlike other tech support people I’ve dealt with) my Outlook is all fixed. I recommend Mike; competent and fair priced service.

I have to say he did a great job. My power supply was fried from recent power surges and I couldn’t get the new quite put back in. He took me in same day and got everything hooked back up. I did have another issue that due to Mike taking me in last minute didn’t have a goop that needed to be put on my heat sink. But he told me exactly what I needed to do and where to get the goop. Needless to say, I’m writing this review off my now fixed comp. And the best part he didn’t over charge me which was great. I will definitely be going back to him for future issues!!!

Gotta give the guy a «High 5 Star» review. Candid, courteous and quick, Mike is more than professional, he’s also personable and precise. Yeah, kinda formed a soliloquy for Mikey… love the eagle memorabilia too…

Mike was recommended to me by a local corporate IT department. My home laptop just failed, and Mike was more responsive and helpful than several tech stores I phoned.
Mike did an initial diagnosis, and gave me some clear options. He also did a complete backup from the Hard Drive, and helped recover some files I needed. Then he helped define key features for a new laptop, and offered great ideas to improve data backup, secure storage, and file management. And he does all his own work; no outsourcing to outside techs.
Mike is professional, no nonsense, knowledgeable, great support and service, and very reasonably priced. He was super helpful and fast, and I recommend his service without reservation.
