Dr. Tina Ellenbogen

Our cat Zoey had reached the end stage of life and we did not want her last moments to be a ride to the vet. We also were to emotionally involved to choose the «right» time. I called Dr. Ellenbogen. She was very understanding on the phone, and we made an appointment for her to come to our house for an evaluation. Zoey went downhill fast before the appointment so I called again. She said she would bring everything just in case. Upon arrival she spent a lot of time explaining cats passing, her procedures, and most importantly listening to our Zoe stories, She than very gently examined Zoey. I t was obvious the time had come. Dr Tina gave us total control of the final procedure. The three of us got really emotional. We then had a very nice talk about life. Dr. Ellenbogen spent a lot of time with us making this very difficult passing a lot more bearable.

My cat Tony hated the vets office. (And they weren’t too fond of him either!). But he was a great companion and a wonderful independent spirit in our household. When we got the diagnosis of imminent kidney failure we were devistated. I wanted a peaceful, less stressful exit for tony. Fortunately dr. Tina was able to help us. Her kind caring attention eased this transition for both my husband and myself as well as Tony. She helped us make the difficult decisions and also gave us a unique perspective on Tony as well.
I highly recommend her service. She is unique among animal caregivers.

Our Tom (yes, a rotten thing to name a neutered male, but he arrived at our house pre-​named) had a long and happy life, but the last few weeks of it were a barrage of vet visits, medicines, exams, and other stresses on a very timid homebody of a cat. I’m a good pet owner and acknowledged my duty to ease his passage, but I simply could not bring myself to put him in the cat carrier for that last ride to a place he so hated.
Dr Tina made a housecall of mercy, and she couldn’t have been kinder and better — not only to Tom but to the entire household of grieving adults and children. (She was especially good with the kids, taking the time to explain what was happening and what to expect. She and I talked privately afterward and she confirmed that this is a priority for her practice, since the death of a pet is most kids’ first interaction with the dying process.) Her care and unhurried kindness was particularly amazing as we’d phoned her with just a few hours’ notice, and with her due across the lake for a class within the hour. If she hadn’t mentioned the time pressure in the phone call before she arrived, you’d never have known — she took the time that needed to be taken, and everything was done to be sure that everything was done as gently and peacefully as could be.
Tom passed away in his favorite chair, with all of us in the room and a little afternoon sunlight on his paws. It was the last kindness we could give him, and Dr Tina made that possible. We cannot thank her enough, and I cannot speak highly enough of her services.

Dr. Tina was the absolute best person we could have attend to our beloved family member, Putter! She made emergency time for us out of her busy work schedule and what a caring and helpful doctor she is! We are so grateful for the referral and the time she spent with our family and Putter!
