Fantastic food. Great burgers and fries, and the steak tips are delicious. Good price, clean atmosphere, quick service.

Noooo! Why do people like this place? The veggie burgers are barely heated through Boca burgers. The fries have this distinct aftertaste the leave you wondering«What in the world is that taste in my mouth?» I don’t get the appeal of this place. I’m hoping that when this location reopens after the renovations, the food is revamped as well.

I’ve eaten at, and gotten take out from this location probably a dozen or more times over a 2 year span. It’s pretty good food, hence I keep going back. The un-fries are great, I don’t feel as guilty eating them as I do regular fries, once I found the Bison burger, I stuck with that. It’s amazing. They also had a chicken sandwich you could get on wheat, which was good too. Tasted very much like a Whopper, but with chicken. The service… eh, could be better, but I didn’t really expect that much more then what I got. As others have said, there can be 0 or 1 person ahead of you, but for some reason it still takes a minute or two for someone to come take your order. The yogurt is good, the small is a good size, even to share with 2 people. It’s fast food people, but with a healthy twist. It is what it is, and I’ve always been happy.

I’m going with what the stars *actually* mean on this one. UFood Grill is A-Ok. Sure I’ve had better, but seriously why is it so hard to find chicken fingers around Downtown Crossing? As I kid I LIVED on chicken fingers. And I still love them. I was hugely thrilled that they let me order off the kids menu, and even more thrilled at the price. Chicken fingers and fries plus a bottle of water for $ 5.34? Yes please. The quality/flavor was hardly anything to write home about, but we’re talking about frozen, baked chicken fingers and fries from a fast food joint. For the calories(around 400 total), worth it! They have a froyo bar I’m interested in trying. I’ll probably return.

I have given this horrific place a 2nd, 3rd and even 4th chance. Today was my final time going to this torture chamber disguised as a fast food joint. I waited in line for 16 minutes, with only ONE person in line in front of me. All I wanted was some frozen yogurt. A simple scoop of frozen yogurt to complete the beautiful spring day. After waiting for the completely inept cashier to take the order and attempt to make the fro-yo for the woman infront of me, I decided that it wasn’t worth it. PS. The cashier did NOT take off his gloves after handling cash, he instead immediately started cutting strawberries with the same gloves on. EWWWWWW. Hopefully the health department will close down this hell hole soon.

I was in the cardiology dept as a patient so I felt extra dutiful to try and eat healthy, and since I had a visitor coming, I thought why order hospital food for dinner? So I had them pick me up the cobb salad and the baked fries. It’s not the best cobb salad I ever had but one of the best healthy cobb salads I ever had. I just wish I hadn’t poured the dressing on. The dressing tasted very chemical. So I’m curious as to what was in the dress, because the rest of the veggies were crispy and fresh in the salad. I think I would have rather eaten without dressing than the one that was given. And those fries are good for you? I have to look into this more because I’m sorry they were delicious! And I wasn’t so medicated that I didn’t know they were delicious. And fries are a red light food for me. I usually don’t allow myself to have real fries because then the fry frenzy begins. But these were flavorful and crispy. And they weren’t piping hot by the time they made it to my hospital bed even. So, I would eat here again. Nice to have a healthier option that is quick and not to expensive.

Went here for a quick bite before seeing a show at the Opera House and I was more than surprised. They had a very extensive menu with everything from burgers and baked fries to a curry bowl. The food was fast, healthy and quite tasty. This is the perfect spot to stop in and grab a quick lunch or snack when you’re on the go in downtown.

Fruit Flies were all over the condiments. We were the only two in the building and it still took over 20min to get some food, which looked and tasted like something they pulled from the freezer and decided to microwave. Gave my wife stomach cramps for most of the day. Who knows what was crawling in our wraps.

Don’t understand how people are falling for this stupid façade of U-Food somehow being healthy. Yes there appear to be healthy options, like the baked fries(which are the only good thing there). But sorry, a «healthy burger» that has been pre-cooked and just thrown on the grill? Tasted Like I was eating cardboard, seriously. Disgusting, in my opinion… If you want to be healthy, seriously just eat a salad or go to whole foods because this stuff may be «healthy ingredients» but the means in which they prepare and cook the food is not healthy at all.

Working nearby, this is an occasional lunch option. The«tofusion» bowl(tofu, brown rice, carrots, brocolli, thai chili sauce) is vegan, perfectly portioned, and decent. Still have occasional problems with understanding anyone that works here. Vegans, take heed. The menu states the veggie burger is vegan, and it is. But the bread they serve it on is not. Because that makes sense to do.

I had trepidations walking into this place– there were signs proclaiming how healthy the food is and that it is low fat. Normally, I avoid placed that proclaim things low fat like it is poison. Today, I was in search of frozen yogurt. Don’t give me that«fro-yo» noise, if you call it fro-yo you need to be punched hard in the baby maker. Shut your pie hole. FFS saying«frozen yogurt» is only 2 more damn syllables! I ordered a wildberry tart cone. $ 2.50. It came out as a twist. Whatever. It tasted awesome. It was cold and a nice chilling treat on a hot day. Customer service here is only okay. The place was running as if they were perpetually short staffed and people actively ignored customers waiting in line for frozen treats. IF the service had been better I’d have given then 5 stars.

I’ve been here a few times when I am downtown and just want a quick bite that isn’t too heavy. The cashiers are usually quick and get the order done. Following would usually be a long wait for the food. I can’t really understand why one must wait 10 to 15 minutes for a fish sandwich that’s supposed to be fast food. It’s like they just took the fish out of the freezer and put it on defrost then grill it in their oven or something. All you’d see is folks standing around with gloves on, talking, and sorta doing something but not because if they did, you should have gotten your food already. Now mind you, there is only one other person ahead of you so what’s taking so long? On service — they’re usually pleasant and courteous. Food — the food tastes pretty good and seem to be pretty healthy. I usually get the fish sandwich or a wrap. sometimes i go for the burger if i am in the mood. I’ve also had their steak tips with broccoli. the steak tips are seasoned pretty good but they aren’t grilled and are cooked, not medium rare or medium but they’re fully cooked and yet, they’re still pretty juicy and tasty. I can’t say the same for the broccoli. It is steamed(or boiled) and bland, tasteless. It was previously frozen so there is no snap or freshness to it at all. Value: Not bad when you get the combo so you can get a side and a drink(i usually just grab a bottle of water and it’s the same price). THIS is what I am giving the other star for. Most places won’t replace the drink with bottled water but here, they do so i am very happy about that since i don’t really care for soda. I am giving this 3 stars because it doesn’t quite deserve 4 yet. the service is a little better but if the food was a bit quicker, i would consider giving it another star.

There isn’t fast food in Boston really. Let’s be real. It is pretty hard to find any food in this city that costs less than $ 10 that you can order at the counter and be done eating in less than 30 minutes. And fast healthy food is defintiely harder to find. So UFood, you aren’t the best food in the world, BUT for what you are, I appreciate you. I appreciate that you offer fresh, made to order healthier options that I can even call in and order in advance for pick up or order at the counter and know that in a few minutes I will have my food and still be able to make that show at the opera house across the street which starts in 20 mintues. And for that, I’m glad you are an option in Boston. They have smart meals already pre-made that you can order quickly – I got their chicken curry style bowl which came with multigrain rice and it was actually pretty good for being $ 8 and knowing that it was definitely healthier than the mcdonalds nearby and I would still get my food fast. Matt J. got their bison burger which yes, you could tell definitely had a moment with some sort of george foreman type of grill since most of the fat was out of this meat, but that is what this place is all about – healthier food options, and even without the fat in that burger, it was pretty good. His mashed sweet potatoes on the side were so so in my book, but hey, you get way more nutrients from that over fat fried french fries anywhere else!

I just started work in the Downtown Crossing area and realized that unlike my previous job where I was spoiled with 5-star cuisine in a specialty cafeteria that was run for the company’s sole use… I would have to go out and BUY lunch. Say what? Um… what to do? What to EAT? What won’t break the bank? And more importantly, what won’t make my butt even bigger?! I hate lines. I hate sub-standard, unfriendly service. I hate having to fish around in my bag for my wallet. This is why online ordering is my new best friend. I can log right onto the Ufood website and order for pick-up a half an hour later. I bypass the lines, bypass the droning recitations of the cashier’s who wish they were doing anything but working at fast food joint and pick up my easy-breezy trans-fat free lunch. A part of me doesn’t understand why people complain about the portion size because the whole point is that you are eating a healthy(by comparison) alternative to your normal favorites. Portion sizes are so wildly outside of normal parameters — to eat something that is acutally a proper serving size might seem like you are getting jipped, but it’s the point, right? I dunno… just my opinion. I am a big fan of the crispy chicken cobb salad(only 310 calories) and the margherita panini(over 400 calories but so good). Take it for what it is. This isn’t supposed to be a gourmet meal… just a healthier, on-the-go fix!

UGH i was reluctant to come here, but my non-foodie friends SWORE that they had the best chicken sandwich around. UGH i dont think my friends have any tastebuds. Got the«mighty» chicken sandwich( ) but it really should be named WEAKSAUCE chicken sandwich. Chicken was the size of my big toe and it looked pretty freakin sorry inside of a normal-sized roll. NOTTOMENTION, it tasted really BLAND. The sandwich was pretty much an overly-dressed salad on top of a small piece of chicken stuffed inside a hard piece of bread. I coulda easily made a better tasting, cheaper version of this at home. NOT A FAN. There are so many other restaurants nearby. go to those instead! That is, unless you want an overpriced, bland sandwich. then UFood is your spot!

Stopped in yesterday with my boyfriend and a friend, and I have to say, I’m officially a fan of U Grill. The selections are a lot healthier than what I’m used to seeing in «fast food restaurants,» to the extent that I’m hesitant to give this place such a label. I got the margarita panini and was pleased with the portion size and the mix of ingredients. There wasn’t so much cheese that the sandwich was unmanageable and it didn’t overpower the vegetables. It also came with grilled fries, which were delicious and crunchy, despite the fact they weren’t fried. I haven’t had fries that way since my mom used to make them in the oven, waaay back in 1995! Grilling was a nice touch, adding that extra little bit of crunch that you wouldn’t expect with a non-fried french fry. The reason this place didn’t merit a full 5 stars is that the cashier dumped my sandwich off the plate and onto the counter the first time she brought it over, and then asked if I just wanted her to scoop it back onto the plate! My dining companions understood the extra 3-minute wait when I said I’d appreciate if they’d prepare another for me.

Went to UFood with the parents after moving, hence we were starving, and even then, the food was«fine». Selection was good, and if you want healthier fast food that tastes ok and isn’t overpriced, then UFood is a great place to go. But don’t mistake, fast food is pretty much what it is. Bus your own tries, order at the cashier, get your own ketchup, stay as long as you want… that kinda deal. The Burger — Dad(who loves his burgers) says was pretty good, although the meat was really lean(=dry), but the flavor was good and the wheat bun was nice and fluffy. The Southwestern Chicken Bowl — The grilled chicken had good flavor but dude, it was tiny. Brown rice made up 75% of the bowl contents and the rest include the chicken, some black beans, a teeny bit of corn, and a little plastic cup of canned salsa, which wasn’t bad at all considering I was STARVING. Vegetarian Panini — Mom’s panini was skimping on the ingredients inside. Bread made up the majority of the plate/sandwich. Unfries — Probably everyone favorite. I could eat this over regular fries any day. Crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Yum! Service was actually pretty great here. We asked for extra salsa and they gave a whole lot more than they did originally. Plus, the pass it to you with a big smile on their face. :) Maybe I was just lucky.

My wife and I were looking for a quick dinner to bring back to the Hyatt after a long day of walking around Boston. We are both always looking for healthy options for food and we saw UFood around the corner from our hotel. They tout nothing fried on their menu, even baked french fries. We make these at home quite a bit, but I have never seen baked french fries in a restaurant. They have a whole yogurt bar(Frozen) off to the side and I ordered a Cobb salad with a side of the baked fries. I think the total was about 8 bucks, and the salad was fantastic. Lots of turkey bacon and meat and lite dressing. The french fries we completely amazing too. Very crisp and seasoned perfectly. Plus they have spicy mustard. I tried my wife’s berry nonfat yogurt swirl and that was splendific as well. Very nicely priced, very clean, and large great tasting portions. My wife said they are bringing one near our house. I can’t wait. This place was our fast food heaven!
