History

Established in 1960.

The bar has seen three different owners over the last 60 years. The bar used to me called McCarthys — mainly a gentlemans bar. Opened early in the mornings and closed late at night. It then became Curtins — Mr Steve Curtin ran Curtins generally by himself. He spent 7 days a week there, and built a good neighborhood bar. Mr Curtin also ran marathons and was involved in the community. He hosted an annual Marathon Party which was the talk of the town for many years! Again the bar remained a very dark place, windows blacked out, pool table, t. v and lots of regulars. It then became The Crossing in April 2009. We spent nearly two weeks renovating. The bar hadnt seen a lot of updates over the last 25 years, so our work was cut out for us.

Meet the Business Owner

Sharon A.

Business Owner

John and Sharon (co-owners) husband and wife. Met when they were working in Clerys bar, which for those that dont know is in in the south end. John has been bartending for 17 years and Sharon has managed for 15 years. We had always worked for larger restaurant groups, and it’s where we obtained our experience. We opened the Crossings doors on April 10th 2009.
