Sunyoung Lee is a Licensed Acupuncturist, National Board certified herbalist, and the founder of Sun Wellness Acupuncture. She received her Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture — the nation’s oldest school in Boston area and among its most reputed. She completed the Auriculotherapy program and is certified from the Auriculotherapy Certification Institute (ACI).

Sunyoung Lee is focused on pain treatment including back, sciatica, shoulder, neck, hip, and auto injury.

Her practice also specializes in reproductive health and fertility support of both women and men in order to serve the family as a whole.

I’ve been to Sun Wellness for 5 acupuncture sessions to treat my menopause symptoms from hell. I noticed a change after 2 sessions where I’m actually now sleeping at night, and having far fewer hot flashes that were always preceded by intense anxiety. I wish I had found Dr. Lee years ago. She is very knowledgeable, sympathetic and caring. She’s always punctual and her staff (Romina) is efficient and a real sweetie. I also had a session for tennis elbow that has been bothering me for over a year. Not knowing what was wrong I went to see my orthopedic surgeon. I was told nothing could be done, no one knows why this occurs and it’ll eventually go away. It did go away… and very quickly with acupuncture. I very highly recommend Dr. Lee.

I can’t say enough about Dr. Sun Lee and her practice! She has helped both my husband and me with various issues, all with positive results.
I was experiencing debilitaing migraines that have all but disappeared since going to Dr. Lee. I am also dealing with hormonal issues that have been tempered by regular accupuncture visits. I had some back issues that were completely relieved after 3 visits. Not only that, but the day I awoke and was in pain, she fit me in that day!
My husband had a bad accident last winter that resulted in a broken shoulder and surgery. He gained much relief and lessened his anxiety, due to the life-​changing event, through his acupuncture treatments.
Dr. Lee really listens to you and is very concerned for each of her patients. No matter how busy she is, I always feel heard and understood by her. I also never feel like she is trying to rush me along.
She is also so nice and always has a remedy suggestion for anything that comes up. Have a cold? Dr. Lee suggests a clove or two of raw garlic as soon as the symptoms appear.
She also offers herbal treatments. I tried a course of herbs for my hormonal issues and I gained back much of my drained energy and felt more in balance after a month of taking them. The environment is relaxing and inviting.
The icing on the cake is when Romina, her lovely assistant, askes if you would like some tea before you go. I always leave floating on a cloud. I also sleep especially well on the days that I have a session.
Do yourself a favor and go to Sun Wellness. Even if you are strong and healthy, acupuncture is a great way to maintain your well-​being!

It took me so long to start an acupuncture treatment in life! I’m so pleasantly surprised by the attention to detail, the comforting atmosphere and a very compassionate Dr. Sun. I had pain from my knee surgery, recurrent headache, a tennis elbow, you name it. She makes it a point to know my current condition every visit and allow me to spend the relatively long time at the office to feel better, while coming out and long term. I love the office set up that’s so nicely designed for the patients, including the massage beds that help me to calm down before the therapy. This is truly a gem and I do feel regret not knowing this place earlier. But as the saying goes, better late…

I have chronic neck pain, anxiety and terrible PMS. All of these of been tremendously improved through acupuncture. Sun Lee makes lifestyle suggestions that compliment the acupuncture treatment, with great results.

If you hate needles and are hesitant to try acupuncture –like I was — then go here because they are attuned to your level of comfort with the process and you can barely feel the needles. They seem to be very strategic in placing the needles, so you don’t feel like a pincushion, but heal nicely.
The environment couldn’t be any more relaxing and it’s warm and inviting, something I didm’t expect for a place off the VFW parkway. So stop reading all the glowing reviews — they’re legit — and make an appt. ASAP before the word gets out about these guys.

I’ve started seeking treatment here a few weeks ago and has been nothing but a positive experience. I can feel that I have more energy than before due to the acupuncture treatment and herbal medicine that I’m taking that Sun Lee made for me. Generally speaking, Sun Lee has taken her time to explain ways to improve my health holistically by suggesting to change my diet as well as incorporating more exercises. One of my favorite is getting a massage by the massage machine that’s attached to the bed for acupuncture treatment. Thanks to this, I always feel relaxed completely through out the treatment. Also, I like that the space is clean, calming, and welcoming. The only reason I put a 4 star is because of the cost, which is not necessarily against the clinic and I totally think it’s worth it but just a reality that not many people would be able to spend this much money.

Sun Wellness has a beautiful relaxing atmosphere. I have been having very dry flaky skin on my face for about a year. Had been using a steroid cream. It really didn’t help that much. As soon as I stopped applying it, the problem would reappear. I had 10 seesions of acupuncture with these wonderful facials. My skin is radiant. I plan to continue treatment monthly. I have been coming to Sun Wellness for a frozen shoulder. This is the second one that I have had and wanted to try acupuncture instead of getting a cortisone shot. After 10 sessions I have a lot more mobility at this point in recovery than I had with the other shoulder. Dr Lee is empathetic, understanding and very accommodating; she explains every procedure before she does anything. I trust her implicitly. I have also seen Dr. Lee in the past for facials as well and have seen a marked difference in my skin tone and reduction of wrinkles. I will continue to come here in the future for other issues and concerns.

Sun Lee acupuncture is great — a lot more intense than the acupuncturist in my old town in Virginia, but that is definitely a compliment. My pain has decreased immensely, and I was introduced to (and love) the complementary Chinese herbs. It’s a very relaxing and enjoyable process, and Dr. Lee is very insightful.

I was referred to Sun Wellness for treatment for severe TMJ. I’ve had it for years, but it had become so bad, I couldn’t open my mouth all the way and when I did, my jaw occasionally locked open. (Scary!)
Dr. Lee did a comprehensive intake with me and we discussed secondary medical concerns, as well, but the main focus was on getting my jaw back in working order.
I had several treatments over the course of about 2.5 months and felt remarkable relief.
The treatment experience is unparalleled by any other practitioner I have worked with. To begin, the office environment is beautiful and welcoming. Each appointment begins with about 15 mins on a heated massage table with relaxing music. Dr. Lee comes in and discusses the goals for that session and sets to work. She is focused and gentle and frequently checks in to make sure you are doing ok. When she is done placing the needles, the lights are dimmed and you are left to rest and relax for a while (I actually am not sure how long it is — maybe 30 – 40 mins?).
Dr. Lee is truly dedicated to pain relief. There have been times, when my pain is at it’s worst where she will work with me for an extra 15 minutes or so just to be sure I’m leaving her office in significantly less pain than when I entered.
If you’re suffering from TMJ, I highly recommend Sun Wellness!

I had been suffering neck pain for about 5 months when I found Sun Wellness Acupuncture.
Prior to meeting Sun and scheduling my first appointment, I did about 7 weeks of physical therapy that helped me to manage, but did not relieve, the pain. I was hopeless and skeptical when I met Sun.
I dropped in to meet her because she is in the same building as my physical therapist. I told Sun about my neck pain, and she advised that I might need about five sessions. I hesitantly made a first appointment.
I was stunned when after just one appointment, I was relieved of pain that I’d gotten used to feeling over the past five months. It was joyous to not feel the pain. After three sessions, Sun advised that given my very low pain level now (about a .5 on a pain scale of 1 – 10), I would only need one more session rather than two. I appreciated her honestly.
The office itself is warm, calm, and inviting, as is Sun. She listens well to my concerns. The sessions are calming and the time goes quickly as inviting private rooms and music are provided.
While I remain shocked that it has only been three appointments with such amazing results, my skepticism has waned. I would recommend acupuncture and more specifically Sun Wellness Acupuncture to friends and family.

I have been going to Sun Wellness Acupuncture for about a month now. I was able to get an appointment quickly and the hours are very convenient as I work in Boston (6 pm was my appointment).
Excellent customer service was evident as soon as I walked in. The assistant/​receptionist greeted me, gave me a questionnaire to fill in and then Sun Lee invited me into her office. Sun Lee reviewed my intake questionnaire and asked me what I was looking to gain and asked questions to get to know me. She listened to me and was attentive.
I am pregnant and have nausea but after seeing Sun Lee I feel so much better, less nauseous and relaxed. Her office is very clean, she is welcoming, and I feel good.

I cannot speak highly enough of Sun Wellness Acupuncture! I started treatments there in November, for a broken foot. Not only did my pain subside after just 2 treatments, but my orthopedist was quite pleased with how quickly my foot healed. I am now training for the Boston Marathon, and am injury free. I really owe this success to Dr. Sun Lee and all her wisdom.
I also struggled with vertigo and some reproductive issues. She has been able to help me take great strides in finding relief and healing.
I have been to several acupuncturists over the years, with varying results, and never have I found a practitioner that is more competent, compassionate, or effective. Thank you Sun for your dedication and expertise!

I decided to seek out acupuncture treatments for severe hip pain about a week ago, and I was able to get right in at Sun Wellness. I was a little bit nervous when I went in as I didn’t know what to expect, but was pleasantly put at ease soon after entering the building. The office is very nice, and we started intake right away. Dr. Sun Lee took a good amount of time to talk about my hip problems and history, before I was brought into a treatment room. Before the session started I laid on a heated table with massage features and a heat pack, so I was certainly able to calm my mind. The needles are not unpleasant, I could barely feel most of them! I can tell Sun Lee is a perfectionist, as after the needles are removed she instructs me to move about so we can find any residual hip pain, where it’s coming from, and treat it.
While my hip pain is still occurring (it’s a severe long term injury, I was expecting less!), I do get a period of relief after the session which is a nice reminder of how a normal hip should feel! I’m looking forward to a couple more sessions and trying to make more improvement in managing my pain.

I came to Sun Wellness as a walk-​in because I was experiencing intense back and shoulder pain. I was desperate for immediate relief and thought, why not try it? Surprisingly, Sun Lee fit me in right away (maybe she took pity on me, I was in bad shape!) I was apprehensive at first, but she put me at ease and asked me how I was doing very often, which I appreciated. I rested as much as possible the rest of the afternoon, as she suggested, and applied heat, and I was appreciably better by that afternoon. It was even better the next morning. No pain unless I exerted myself. After the second treatment, I was completely pain free and back to my normal physical activity and exercise. I went from being a little fearful about it, to being a full fledged acupuncture fan. Sun Lee was attentive, gentle and responsive, and her treatment worked for me!

I found Sun Wellness Acupuncture when I threw my back out on Christmas Eve. I couldn’t even stand up straight, I was in so much pain. Thankfully, Dr. Lee saw me and treated me for nearly two hours until I could move again. I was most pleased with her treatment, and her bedside manner is very kind and gentle.
The center is very clean and inviting. Dr. Lee has worked hard to ensure that patients feel comfortable and welcome. The massage beds are absolutely glorious. Even the sheets on the beds are beautiful. I highly recommend Sun Wellness Acupuncture to anyone and everyone.

I’ve been getting treatments for over a year now for different ailments– Most recently for back pain. Sun Lee always listens carefully and makes sure that you are comfortable. Her treatments definitely work because if I skip a week of treatment, my back pain flares up again.
The office is clean and calming. Parking if free and plentiful.

I highly recommend her acupuncture treatment for any deep tissue, muscular problems.
I used to carry a golf ball size muscular knot in between my leg and hip from an old injury, which was not only painful and aggravating, It would also cause clamps all other muscles around it.
It was so deep, no massage or years of yoga could do nothing but just helping with mobility.
Less than 6 treatments with Dr. Lee and her Acupuncture, now the knot is gone!
For some people who never experience the acupuncture, It is not painful at all; in fact the visits are very relaxing and pleasant.

I am most impressed with the care I receive at Sun Wellness. I started sessions almost a year ago to cope with stress, restless sleep, and general aches. It was my first time trying acupuncture, and Sun Lee was attentive to my anxiety and symptoms.
She started me off with weekly sessions, and by five weeks I moved into monthly visits. Over this time, we worked up to using more needles on my legs & feet, hands & arms, head & face, and finally ears. Recently, I’ve had more pain in my neck/​upper back, so I just enjoyed a session with stimulation focused only on these areas.
Sun Lee has helped restore the flow in my body. I feel rejuvenated each visit — like a monthly tune-​up! I appreciate that she asks me how I feel at the beginning of each session so that we can focus on particular problems. I also like the setting: warm, clean, comfortable, and unique. It is relaxing while healing, and I am hooked!
