I happen to find Dr. Cohen’s office when I needed to have my root canal done and ended up decided to come on to the practice full time as a patient. The office is lovely, very clean and Dr. Cohen was very professional. However, be aware of the employees that he has hired to handle the billing. The tactics they use are very different than the façade that Dr. Cohen gives off as being your advocate and all for patient care is not the actual case. Like most other dental groups, they are all about the money and if there are any issues with insurance they will not help you in the slightest of ways. I had referred other fellow employees and friends to his practice under the assumption that this was a great place. This place has cost A LOT of out of pocket money due to their slimy ways. Please heed my advice to take your insurance and money elsewhere quickly!

It’s been about five years since I’ve seen Dr. Cohen. The only downside is that he only takes Delta Dental, so once I switched jobs(and thus switched insurance companies) I was SOL. Too bad though, he was terrific.

I saw Dr. Cohen after a harrowing experiencing at Park Street Dental Associates(see my previous review). I called and they offered me an appointment within just two days, first thing in the morning. I sent along my dental x-rays via email and he reviewed them with me. We sat down and talked for an hour, got to know each other. He explained everything that was going on in my mouth after reviewing the x-rays and taking a look inside. He informed me that while I might be at risk for a cavity in my wisdom tooth due to its placement, I currently don’t have one. In fact, I went from having 7(according to the other dentist) to zero. He recommended I use sensitive toothpaste(brand agnostic!) to help with the sensitivity around one particular tooth. He couldn’t possibly be friendlier or care more about my health. I can’t speak for the cleaning(that’s in 6 months!), but he’s a gem.

Dr. Cohen has restored my belief in dentistry. After two separate dentists failed at installing and fixing a filling, I saw Dr. Cohen and admitted that my level of dental terror had hit its max. With a calming voice, he asked for my permission to take a look(why thank you for asking!) and gingerly poked around, all the while describing what he was seeing and doing. I went back a year later for my routine visit and he was just as cheerful and reassuring. To ease my anxiety before beginning a procedure, he even offered me a mirror so I could watch what he’d be doing. My teeth look great, my confidence is restored, and I no longer fear returning to the dentist!
