The Venetian inspired menu is tasty without being over spiced, from the appetizers to the main courses. There was a nice blend of savory sauces and citrus accents; it was well worth going. It’s a new place, so the waitstaff are still developing routines and ran a little slow, but they were all pleasant and sweet. I’m sure their service will get faster the longer they’re open.

We had a wonderful first visit to SRV last night — I say first visit because I hope there will be many more! The restaurant feels open and spacious, I love the décor, and it had a really fun atmosphere. However, it also wasn’t overly loud — we loved all the exposed brick, but there were enough soft furnishings to mean you could hear your conversation! They do a selection of cicchetti(small bites), plus small plates, pastas and risotto. We started with a selection of cicchetti — mozzarella in carrozza, polpette, baby octopus, quail egg, and beef tendons, all of which we would order again in a heartbeat. Delicious. We were going to each order a pasta next, but were advised we might need a smaller plate as well, so we got the skate wing to share. I’m glad we tried it because it was phenomenal, but in hindsight I don’t think we needed that and two pasta dishes. We also had the shrimp pasta and the foraged mushroom pasta. Both were great — the shrimp had the edge for me. The mushroom pasta was good, but lacked a certain something, I can’t quite put my finger on what it was. That’s nit picking, though, because it was a great meal overall. Service was great, and we had a really nice corner booth table looking out over the whole restaurant, which was pretty special. A great addition to the neighbourhood, and we’re looking forward to going back.

Great for vegetarians. Excellent — over-the-top, in the best possible way — service. Delicious amari, and a beautiful cocktail program generally. Beautiful homemade pasta. I could not be happier with this place, and I could not be happier that it’s in my neighborhood. I anticipate many meals and drinks here.

Delicious food. Beautiful space(and surprisingly quiet. I have gotten so fed up with restaurants that cannot decide on a personality and that try to partly be a club and partly be a restaurant. This place knows that its scene is fun, but also intimate, and cozy.) Great service(thank you, Cassie, for taking care of us so well!) As vegetarians, I was a little worried that not too many dishes would be adaptable, but a HUGE number of them were and everything we ate was absolutely delicious.(It would be great to add a little«v» to the menu items so it is clear what can/cannot be adapted to vegetarians). In particular, the mascarpone gelato and the mushroom-y pasta were fantastic. But really – everything we had was awesome. This place is such a great addition to the neighborhood and I look forward to returning soon!

Here’s the skinny: Food quality — 10 Staff friendliness/attentiveness — 10 Menu selection — 9 This is a MUST for foodies and people looking for new dishes in the Italian atmosphere. I had the Bigoli with Duck Ragu and it was a knockout. Also the Italian Chicories salad was very delicate and delicious. This is not for picky eaters This is a great date spot You will need a reservation. This place was packed on a weeknight Portions are small, they guide you through recommended portions Save room for dessert. Especially the Affogatto(espresso on top of chocolate covered hazelnut gelato)

Just had a fantastic dinner here with a friend. Service was impeccable and you would never know they just opened less than a week ago. Really nice menu with many plates to share. We had a number of starters and shared a main dish. Gnocchi was amazing. Can’t go wrong. A fantastic addition to the neighborhood. We will be regulars for dinner at the bar.

My boyfriend and I went to SRV Saturday night. When we walked in we were greeted at the host stand and showed to our table by Alex who is very pleasant. As we got settled in we took in the ambience of the restaurant which is upscale, yet casual and the décor/style is appeasing and cool. We ordered cocktails to begin with along with an appetizer. I ordered the Nonno’s Sigaro and my boyfriend ordered the Innocents Abroad. We got the Vongole alla Pescatora(clams) as an appetizer which was a great start to the meal and we recommend! As for the main meal I had Spaghetti alla Busara(spaghetti, spicy tomato sauce & shrimp) and my boyfriend had the Buckwheat Bigoli(duck). We both were fans of the dishes we selected. We enjoyed a bottle of wine along with our entrees. We finished the meal with desert! I had a scoop of dark chocolate gelato(a very generous scoop size) and my boyfriend had his favorite, tiramisu. Also along with his desert he ordered the Loverbeer. I found the prices at SRV very fair and better than similar restaurants. Everything we had was fantastic. We both highly recommend SRV. An awesome addition to the South End.

Walking by this place every week, I’ve been excited for SRV to open for a LONG time. It looks so beautiful inside, with exposed brick, turquoise barn doors, homemade decanter chandeliers, marble tables, and hipster lights galore. The food was just as amazing as the restaurant is beautiful. I ordered the 63 Fairbanks cocktail($ 11) which is gin, aperol, elderflower, citrus, and green chartreuse. Really tasty and the aperol(orange bitters) is the main flavor there. My dining companion got the dunkelweizen beer($ 7?) and enjoyed it. The small bites are truly small: $ 2 – 4 and a few bites each. They come out from their own little kitchen and are ready in just a few minutes! The meatballs were fantastic, and the mozzarella one was like an upscale fried mozzarella stick, which was delicious and larger than we expected. We also tried the skate wing small plate($ 15) which is a SEAURCHIN! I was hesitant, my boyfriend really wanted to try it, and the waiter recommended it so we went for it. It was absolutely incredible! Even if you’re not feeling too adventurous, you really should try it, because it’s truly great. For«entrees» we ordered the shrimp spaghetti($ 17?) and the duck ragù($ 16). We both enjoyed the spaghetti more, because the ragù felt a little heavy. I saw other tables with gelato and felt we had to try it, so we got a single scoop! It’s listed on the dessert menu as 3 scoops for $ 9 but our waiter offered just one scoop instead, which was certainly all we needed after the amazing and filling meal! The stracciatelli gelato is made with buttermilk and tastes like cheesecake gelato… do I have to say any more? Try it. Our server was excellent, gave lots of suggestions and came to check on us just the right amount. Someone who I presume is the owner or manager stopped by our table to check in and refold my napkin when I went to the bathroom-I just love that. The host and hostess were great too, and all the staff seemed very charming. This restaurant is BIG but make a reservation on the weekend because it’s already popular! There are seats at the(very beautiful) bar for dining, and a standing bar area for people to get food and bites while they wait. There’s a really beautiful outdoor patio that was covered in snow when we were there but I can’t wait to come back in the spring and enjoy some bites and drinks on the deck. We also heard a waitress telling the table next to us that the front windows on Columbus Ave are actually garage doors so in the warmer months it will be a really open feel to the inside dining area! Can’t wait! $ 80 before tip for two people with lots of apps, entrees, drinks, and dessert. Overall, SRV is on the pricier side, even if you try to stay basic, as the cheapest«main plate» option was around $ 15, and they’re not huge servings. 100% worth it, though.

I had such doubts about this restaurant since it took so long to open and my initial peek at the online menu left me wondering. However, my experience could not have been better. Considering we had a group of 10 people for dinner 5 days after it opened — the food was excellent, the atmosphere warm and inviting, the execution and timing from the kitchen perfect, the staff pretty knowledgeable. The décor in the place is absolutely beautiful and the back deck will be great in the summer. Most restaurants really have a tough time getting it all right in the first few weeks but these guys had it down like they’d been open a year. Our table did the chef’s tasting menu, which for $ 45 each is the way go. No decisions to make on our part, they just keep bringing awesome food! And the food was great, a mix of things I never would have chosen to eat but that were delicious, and then more staple items. Additionally, there was an incident in the bar while we were there where someone had wandered in from the street and starting yelling beligerently at the hostess. The staff handled it calmly and diffused the situation to the applause of everyone in the bar area when it was over. Overall our experience was excellent. A great addition to this end of the South End!

Absolutely great experience. Arrived here at 5pm on Saturday snowstorm day and were seated promptly by friendly hosts. Skate wing and squid ink risotto were great so as bf had gnocchi and said he loved it as well. We also had some bites like trout on crostini and octopus and were 100%impressed with the food and flavors. They are doing a great job and i hope they will keep it that way and this place won’t turn into a basic b. es paradise.(Like some other restaurants down Tremont). Our bearded server(sorry, forgot his name), was very attentive and nice. The place itself feels modern, but not pretentious. Clean(well, they just opened 5 days ago), cozy and vibrant. Will be back for sure since its 5 min walk from my apartment and its distant from the Restaurant row overrated places. Great job, SRV!

Great addition to the neighborhood! We had a few small plates and the squid ink risotto which was amazing. Of note, they aren’t kidding about the chichetta/small plates, they are single bites. Just be aware of that when ordering… Totally delicious though! We also got the gelato… loved the dark chocolate and mascarpone! The space is pretty amazing for this location too. The dining area is huge which allows for larger parties(unlike most south end restaurants) and the bar is pretty big too. We had 8:15 reservations and got seated right on time. Service at both the bar and table were great. For their 1st weekend open I was very impressed! Definitely recommend for date place or a girls night out… as the space/ambience allows for both. I will be back for sure.

We stopped in for pre-dinner apps and drinks. The ambience was upscale casual with great soft lighting and jazz playing in the background. We sat at the counter since the bar was full but even then, not overcrowded — you can easily have private conversation. The cocktail choices were interesting and there seemed enough variety to satisfy most without being overwhelming. The ones we choose were well balanced and the first tasted just like the second one — consistent. The food was excellent and we will definitely return soon for a full dinner. Some small things could change. I’m vegetarian and there were no apps on the menu I could order. I had to go to the dinner menu where my options were salad, pasta or risotto. I choose the pasta which was excellent but heavy for a pre-dinner course(we were going out later). It would be nice to have options since I’d more often have an app and a drink on my way home a block away. Service was a bit awkward but understandable given the newness of the restaurant. Our drinks did not arrive together, we were served food without utensils, plates were stacked on clearing(my own personal pet peeve), and(this is small) I would have liked a piece of bread with the pasta to ‘scarpetta’. Drinks were also on the small side. The atmosphere was comfortable, the food was well balanced and flavorful, and the service welcoming.

Very good first experience at SRV, and great addition to the west part of the South End. Comprehensive menu and nice set-up. I really enjoyed the small portion/appetizer Cicchetti’s. The vibe was nice and urban, although would like to hear more variety in the music; not every patron enjoys incessant hi-hop, rap style music — please consider mixing it up. But overall, great place and will be back.

SRV is impressive! The food had the right combination of flavors to satisfy my palette, and the drinks were quite tasty. The service is terrific and the environment is pleasant. There’s plenty of delicious food options for the more adventurous palette, such as the quail eggs with salted anchovies and the squid ink risotto with cuttlefish. I recommend the 63 Fairbanks for a drink, the lamb neck gnocchi for the main course, and the affogato for dessert. SRV is definitely worth a visit!

Great place for a first date! I ordered the spaghetti with shrimp and my boyfriend ordered the bigoli with duck. Both were a great choice. The menu could be a bit overwhelming but not to worry, ask your server — they are very helpful. If the Venetian is still in the drink menu, do not order it, unless you are looking for a bitter after taste. My favorite drink was the 63 Fairbanks(fruity) and the Nonno’s Sigaro(minty) Overall, great vibe, tasty food/drinks and good music. Keep it up SRV!

Great opening night at SRV! We’ve been to several openings before and none as smooth as this one. Kitchen and service were both operating as if they’d been open for a year. Food was delicious, cocktails were well crafted, décor perfectly matched the neighborhood and the service was friendly and knowledge.
