Specialties

Brazilian waxing and brow shaping are my «go-​to» services. I also love doing acne facials. Having had to endure acne as a teen and still dealing with occasional breakouts, make me über sympathetic to my clients dealing with this.

History

Established in 2012.

Opened in January 2012, but absolutely not the new kid on the block. Liz has been providing her services in the North End of Boston since 2004.

After working in a full service salon for many years, Liz decided it was time to open an intimate studio exclusively dedicated to hair removal and skin care. This approach has allowed her to have a more direct connection with her clients and their needs.

Dedicated to providing efficient, friendly and as painless as possible services, Liz has developed wonderful techniques for hair removal and facials through her commitment to continuing education and product research.

Brows are a weird thing. They’re funny fuzzy caterpillars that sit above your eyes and somehow define your face. Through their subtle nuances, they send a message about your personality and style.
Liz speaks eyebrow. She knows how to get them to do what she wants. She also isn’t afraid to tell you when you’re wrong about brow care! (No, she will not take it off the top. Don’t even ask.) I’m never red or irritated after sessions, and she spends the full 15 minutes discussing shapes, snipping and waxing. She actually has a PLAN for my eyebrows. They’ve never looked better!
One of the best things is that you can book your appointments online through her handy scheduler. At $ 20 it’s a little more expensive than usual, but decidedly worth it.

I went to see Liz for a Brazilian and an eyebrow wax … all I can say is WOW !!! Liz is amazing! The hype is much deserved. She was so down to earth and easy to talk to. Let me tell you, going it things weren’t too pretty down there but by the time I left I was feeling great! I am so happy I’ve found Liz! I have already booked my next appt. You should too! I usually just read these but felt the need to post. I went to Liz today for a bax waxing and an eyebrow wax. Though I have done many eyebrow waxes and threading’s this was the first time i had my back waxed. Liz was great. She started with my eyebrows and really listened to me when I stated the fear of making them to thin and arched. The eyebrow waxing was painless and quick. Next, was the scary part, the back waxing. Liz was very honest and informed me about the processes. Lucky for me it was painless and fast. I have always dreaded this but now i actually look forward to seeing Liz.

I’ve been a client of Liz’s for two years now and she’s the best for waxing in Boston. The salon is very clean, welcoming and Liz never keeps you waiting. I originally saw Liz for brow and lip but have recently added more services from her roster, the Brazilian.
My brows haven’t looked as good as they do now. It’s virtually painless and she always gives you the mirror after to make sure you are happy. The Brazilian was the least painful one I have ever experienced and she kept you distracted during the whole «procedure» which was great. She made me very comfortable which was good because I haven’t had a Brazilian in a few years.
Her location is convenient (about a five minute walk from the green and orange line Haymarket stop). If you’re in need of a wax, log on to her website and book with Liz today. You won’t regret it!

I’ve had over 20 Brazilian waxes in my life from a handful of different people and Liz is the best. She used both hard and soft wax depending on the sensitivity of the area and didn’t mess around with small strips. Any painful area was taken care of in 2 – 3 quick strips and in all the wax took 15 minutes. At the end she made sure I was happy by giving me a mirror to check for any missed spots (there were none). This wax was as painless as a Brazilian can be and having a chill, funny waxer like Liz is also a plus!

Friendly, fast, thoughtful, efficient and ready to go in less than 30 minutes. Lots of places offer the Brazilian wax service but Liz is excellent. She keeps things lighthearted and gets the job done and over with before you know it. A little bit more expensive than others in the area but worth it!

I have been going to Liz for over a year. She is in the same building as Jacquelyn’s Day Spa — look for the blue awning. It is a great location — close to the North End but also close to Southie, Beacon Hill, Government Center.
I always get nervous getting a brazilian and getting my eyebrows done, but Liz puts you right at ease. It’s not uncomfortable and awkward. She is thorough and does a great job everytime. She even makes sure before you get dressed that she didn’t miss any spots. For your brows, she always asks you what you prefer and even gives helpful tips and tricks to maintain them.

Liz is by far the nicest, gentlest person who had ever done my eyebrows. That’s saying a lot since I’ve been getting them done since I was thirteen. It took me fifteen years to find her and I’m glad.
Place is clean. Relaxing. Smells amazing.
I actually stopped getting my brows waxed and switched to threading due to the fact that I break out after I would get them waxed every time. The difference here is that Liz uses a different kind of wax. It’s the hard wax that doesn’t require her to use the cloth strips. Which I think is amazing and does not hurt as much when the hair is pulled off.
More expensive then I’m used to paying for brows, but it is definitely worth it. I will keep going back and recommend her to everyone.

After searching for a place that can do amazing work on brows, I have finally found a place! Solace was amazing! The atmosphere was very clean, inviting, and relaxing.
I was a few minutes early and Liz greeted me and took me right away. She asked me about my brow «history,» and asked for my brow «rules» which I really appreciated because she was trying to get an understanding of my expectations.
While this service may be a little more costly than I am used to for brows, I would pay the extra because of the exceptional service!

Liz is all around incredible. She does a seriously thorough job, and you can tell she truly wants you to be happy with the result. She makes the experience as comfortable and as painless as possible. Liz opened her own place, and from booking appointments online to unmatched customer service, she really knows what she’s doing. Believe the reviews, believe the 5 stars, believe it all. One thing to note — you can pay with a card, but you can only tip in cash, so make sure you come prepared.

There are 2 people (well 3 if you include me) in this world who know too much about my nether-​region. Liz Johnston and my husband — and I’ve actually been seeing Liz for waxing longer than I’ve been with my husband. I did the math today and I’ve been a client of hers for 7 years. I went to her new place for the first time today and I loved it. It’s beautiful and conveniently located right near the old place. I’m happy she took the plunge to branch out on her own. She’s talented and deserves much success!
So, it’s a very nice shop but frankly, even if Liz did waxing out of an old abandoned warehouse, I’d still go to her. She’s the ONLY person I trust «down there». I moved to the South Shore 2 years ago and I still go into the city to see Liz. I consider her a friend and I look forward to seeing her, which is saying a lot considering there’s really nothing pleasant about getting waxed — aside from Liz that is.
